@@Grogeous_Maximus No. Both of them were monsters. One was human, the other was monstrous, but both of them were monsters in their own right. Frankenstein created an intelligent being that he had forsaken and left without care. His creation was solving it's own mental problems by murdering innocents just to cause maximal anguish for his creator AND the other innocents.

I developed a Star Wars game based around Dreads jenga tower use, and ran a lovecraftian game using the same as well. It was awesome both times.

Really enjoy this. I'd love to see you make a generic rpg adventure around the story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame!
I picture your take to be as bloody and dramatic as that story deserves to be told!
More of these General adaptation videos would be fantastic! You inspired me to make an adaptation of Christmas Carol in my own D&D game that went very well with my players.

I played the role of Ernst Frankenstien at this game for Gen Con 2018, it was absolutely an amazing experience! Thank you Professor DungeonMaster!
The questions ended up expanded quite nicely:
Q1. Why did you duel Emile Bossard? Was was the result?
A1. As a matter of honor. I was victorious.
Q2. You have not spoken to your brother Victor since having an argument over a year ago. What was it about?
A2. Victor believed that our mother died because she was weak.
Q3. What secret are you keeping from your father?
    A3. My love for Henry.
Q4. Aside from your flintlock pistol and sabre, what item (not a weapon) do you carry with you are all times?
    A4. A locket containing a lock of mother's hair.

My only issue with Dread is the rebuilding of the tower after a player’s death. If you have 4 players, this often ends with at least 2 players having to sit out of the action for over half the game. When I run Dread I give each player their own tower and have players roll a D4 or a D6 for Damage. For example if the monster were to attack them they’d roll a D4 and pull that many blocks from the tower. This system doesn’t lend itself to rising and falling action nearly as well, but it does make the climax of the story much more intense.

For the star wars game the players were padawans and there was a limit to their force of 2 force points, if the tower fell they gained a dark side point, if the dark side point matched their force limit plus 1 they graduated in power to 3 force points and turn to the dark side.force adepts had 1 FP, padawans 2, beginner knight 3, elite knight 4, master 5, grand master 6, (for reference.)

what I never got about Frankenstein was if he was so smart why didn't he just build the creature a mate without a womb and the ability to have children. Then when the Creature comes complaining he could've just said
"Well you are made from dead things. How can you expect to create life from death in the natural manner? Even I couldn't do that."
This is an interesting idea though.
I have been totally in love with the British Gothics (not forgetting Poe and Lovecraft. American Master of the craft) since I was a Kid. And Later on the Hammer and Universal Movies.
I even have written in my own Steampunk universe several stories where I've Blended the movies and Genre's So I have Peter Cushing's Baron Victor Frankenstein, creating Karloff's Monster. My Dracula is a Hybrid of Lee and Lugosi and so on. They will often cross paths with other figures such as Jekyll and Hyde, Holmes and Watson, and Jack the Ripper and many Heroes and Villains from that particular era. I think these settings along with the Science Fiction Steam punk feel might make an excellent game setting,
I might just mention here I have a family connection to the Movie monster. A distant Uncle of mine was James Whale who Directed the Original Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, The Old Dark House And the Invisible man. He also gave Peter Cushing his first Acting role when he went to America early in his career.

Partly because Mary Shelly was a 16 year old girl and she wrote the first draft in a single night, so plot holes were bound to happen, but two possible reasons present themselves. One the lack of a womb would be immaterial. The manner in which this life was created was different from ours, (and the author may or may not have conceived that any offspring produced naturally if any could would most likely be typical humans with but a twinge of the features of their grotesque parents... Because she may or may not have grasped that they would only genetically inherit from the human organs involved in their making) No! His concern was not them naturally copulating, which would most likely be impossible anyway and assuredly produce inferior specimens... His concern was that to be his match she would have to match his wits, and the creature was a match for Victor's own intellect. His concern was her wanting children like her and being smart enough to know natural breeding won't work for that purpose, the two together would be more than capable of replicating the process by which they were made, and would make their offspring by artifice... Second was was Victor was a spiteful cuntface. He saw the creature looking upon his future bride with the kind of loving and longing Victor himself did not feel for his bride, and so he was jealous. Victor saw the creature was going to have feelings Victor would likely never have for his love... And that envy was the seed for him thinking "What if he lies about ending the feud? What if his wife thinks differently about the feud? How will they feel about their exile after their numbers have risen higher?" His concerns of what this monster race might do to humans was prompted by his own envy. He hated that the monster was probably going to have a happier marriage than his. And so pondered if te creatures could grow to envy mankind for having what the creatures don't have... That is all this land and resources. He was petty and vindictive and that's why he imagined his creation doing the same thing he would do. (Never mind that what he was envious of was his creation having more love in his heart...

Are all your games "stream-lined" like this one? Yes, characters do have choices to make, but they will get to the second phase, and third phase, and so on until the Dénouement. Is this a typical game for you or you just designed it for a one-timer?
Do you have any back-up plan if the characters decide that they don't care about the creature and want to go outside the town, or this simply doesn't happen in Gen Con?
    Thanks!

I took a look to see how much the game cost and I saw one copy on Amazon for $647, I sh*t you not. Good luck, buddy! They also had one each at $36 & $47, but the maker, The Impossible Dream, has it for $24. I grabbed some other horror games recently to work on a not-Cthulhu one shot to see if it could become a Scooby Doo style series of adventures, but with actual horrors. I've never run a horror game but this really is more interesting than swinging swords at goblins for me these days! I'm a big Lovecraft fan, but my crew, not so much! Anyway, if you film a session, put it up! Cheers!

They spent creation points on skills, knowledge, force powers, saber styles, and "other talents" (other talents being left open to incorporate whatever the player was looking for in a species, class, or feat like abilities etc.) All on a novice, intermediate, and master level. So 3 levels for each so as to allow for easy quick guaging. Restrictions to saber mastery in any form as well as force powers and some restrictions to dark side powers round out the expectations of padawan levels.
The saber forms and force styles are each distinct and obvious enough that using each will allow for all sorts of things but may be kept in check by maintaining to the power level (novice, intermediate, master) bought up to and holding the line on the "wheelhouse" of said power/form, other than that let the players utilize their force/forms in any way they can justify with those two limitations in made.

Run this scenario enough times and I'm willing to bet that at some point, one of the PC's will either want to befriend the creature, or become his bride. I'm afraid that matrix will be quite insufficient in such a scenario (and that development is rather predictable, given enough players - never mind a true wildcard).

I like all of this but I’d give the players some way to succeed while siding with Frankenstein’s monster. Forcing them to play out in a battle I know my players would want nothing to do with wouldn’t work. They’d more than likely force Frankenstein to make another body at knife point or just out right kill him just to spite me if I tried to railroad them that way.
