i cannot believe i just found you when i was just practicing drawing faces a few hours ago. i've just gotten back to learning art again after 10 years of hiatus. this is so refreshing to watch and is very detailed. daghang salamat for this! gonna follow you on twitch now.
Ah man, this comment means a lot to me! A big reason why I make content is to help people like us who took a break from art but haven't given up yet. I hope I can keep delivering content that helps you on your art journey! Appreciate you taking time to check out my video and for leaving this comment 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the easy to understand breakdown! (as well as the time stamps on each explanation.) I've been self studying, and it helped me not to focus on too many details at the same time when I need to restudy on the each parts of the anatomy.
I love your confidence, it's so enjoyable to watch. You have a lot of (well-founded) faith in yourself and it shows without you ever coming across like a jerk and it's really really cool 😊 For me an especially helpful tip was riiiiiight in the beginning when you broke down the head into a cube, and then you cut a cube out of the big cube and that formed the basis for the skull. It really helped to confine the proportions nicely! This was a really fun video and I'm stoked to start all the other ones! Thank you for what you do and that you do it for free!!
This video helped me so much. I've been struggling with learning how to draw anatomy and this really helped me a lot. I've watched a lot of david finch's videos which are really usefull but i realised that i needed to learn anatomy to do watch his tutorials. So thank you so much for this awesome tutorial.❤
Found you today on youtube wasnt searching for drawing but have been for the past 2 month saw how long it was click and love first 30 practice but need sleep
It’s an amazing video I started learning how to draw only a week ago and while head part was not that hard like I expected it to be … the hair was a hell 😂
Thanks to you, I now know I suck at drawing female heads and faces. Thanks, Kaycem! Bad joke aside, this was really helpful. Never managed to get the side view of the head before. I didn't get everything, and the muscles and names of the things were all chinese for me, but hey, one step at the time. Have been on the discord for 2 months, but only now got the motivation to watch the streams. I'm planning to watch the whole bootcamp over the coming weeks!
I like chunky peanut butter too! Thanks for the vid. Had helped me a lot, since recently I started to struggle on how and where to place the necks, where the spine goes; etc. I'm also thinking of watching your other vids to improve on head perspective. Again, thanks a lot for this! It's really helpful.
Hey, Kaycem! Im new to your channel and wanted to ask if you had any advice that you would give to someone trying to get into concept art/character design (i think character design is a form of it lol). Im still currently pushing my improvement and learning but wasnt so sure on how to go about things like a portfolio for instance. Theres alot i want to ask but i dont wanna overwhelm you with questions haha.
Hey @Starbutter ! Firstly, thank you for checking out my channel and leaving this comment 🙏 I made this UA-cam channel so that I can help answer questions that I might've missed on Twitch so please ask away aha I have a few videos come out soon that will actually talk more about how to get more into character design but here are a pointers to hopefully get you started: - Find some of the shows/games/movies/comics that you would've liked to do concept art/character design for and start studying their art. Try to see what catches your eye and maybe even try to redraw some of those things yourself. For example, if you like League of Legends, study some of the splash arts or the proportions of the characters. - Go on platforms like Instagram, Artstation, Twitter, LinkedIn and look for artists that worked on the projects you would've wanted to work on and chances are they have a link to their portfolio! Take a look at what they are including and see if you can do some of those things yourself. Common things to look out for are turnarounds, expressions, and poses. - Last but not least, don't worry too much about "making a perfect portfolio that others will like" but instead focus on the things you enjoy to drive your pieces. Putting your own creative twists into your art can go a long way in making you stand out. Hope this helps and wishing you the best on your art journey~
@@KaycemCrew Thank you for this, I really needed it. Im having alot of trouble rn with comparing myself with so many younger artists on social media so i keep getting scared away with doing this kind of stuff but this really helps me get a better idea on how to go about this.❤
ive noticed youre not using loomis to construct the head, do you have a tutorial on it to help frame the head, im struggling to copy some of the stuff you are doing, thanks!
Hey thanks for leaving this comment! Interestingly enough the way that I draw heads stems from the Loomis method but over time as I've adapted my style and workflow, I've come up with the way that I draw heads now~ I believe in my earlier videos like this one: ua-cam.com/video/S-2vPrFWNP0/v-deo.html I go over how to draw the heads but I'll also make some future videos where I cover it again! Thanks for watching and I hope you've found my tutorials helpful
I'm planning to become an illustrator but more towards an anime artstyle, I'm kind of having difficulties stylizing heads with what I learned, any tips?
I'll be releasing that video on Monday! It will cover how to draw characters in perspective which will also talk about boxes 😁 I hope it helps and thanks for watching!
ive joined the discord and all but i cant seem to find the cheat cheat and the refrences u use could you pls tell me where they are in the discord or if there is another place to find them. im not done with the video so far but ive already learnd so much so ty.
Yeah I have! I think it's got a good set of diverse features that could come in handy. Personally for my workflow I think Procreate does the job though
Hmm, have your videos been edited for UA-cam a year later? If not the videos will never compete with Proko. You spend lots of time talking to chat. It’s hard or requires fast forwarding to learn anything.
One thing, don't tell people to get the worksheet in the video if you remove it when you end the stream cause people will join the discord trying to find it but it not there anymore that is false advertising.
Thanks for the feedback! I dont think it's false advertising if I'm explicitly telling people they will be removed at the end of the "stream" and not the video. Plus joining the Discord will give access to future opportunities to download resources when I do go "live" so I don't think it hurts to let people know resources can exist on the server 😊
@@KaycemCrew ok, first; it was not said in the video that it will be removed at the end of the stream. so you still pull people in say there is resources but they will only find out it is removed once they join and saying maybe they might get it if they catch the next stream. That a from of false advertising call "a Bait and Switch"🙂. but still nice work on video.
Hope you enjoyed this video! Let me know if you want me to make more like it or if you have any art topics you'd like me to cover~
