Love this video. Watched it a few times to help with my project. Thinking I'm going to have to try to wire it myself. Called iwire and since I'm running a manual to do all the work with me pulling both wiring harnesses and shipping to them it's still gunna cost me 4500 us. Which is around 6000 Canadian for me. Could buy a wrx with that. Motors about to go in. Gunna be interesting to see if it runs

Will be doing this with my '01 Fozy. EJ253 out EZ30R in. Drive it stock like that for awhile, and the first performance mod I might do is water/meth after that. I understand turboing these isn't the best idea without building the engine. Unless you go for really low boost. That might actually be pretty cool anyway, especially with Water/Meth injection. We'll see. I could buy a JDM engine with the 6MT and the Rear diff and drive axles and everything. But I"m hoping to find a USDM outback parts car like you suggested. Seems like the better option.
If you get a ez30r you have to get the matching ECU dash and HVAC system. That's why I went with a ez30d it's cheaper and with the wire merging I can use my stock cluster out of my bugeye
You can turbo if you keep it under 5lbs with a 255 fuel pump and tatrix or vag-com cable with ecuflash and romraider for logging type tuning prefered so you dont lean out i know peeps that run the 2.5 and the ez3 at 5-7lbs with tuning as daily and no problems aparently you can doo 5 with just a fuel pump but could be unsave if you dont know what the waste gate actually is at.

Higher models of MS have enough drivers to run a six cylinder with sequential spark and injection. You could likely run a MS2/Microsquirt with this engine with few issues.
No one that has a swapped h6 will suggest MS .... Its terrible.

very nice... ive been wanting to do this since ive got my subaru... its a 2003 impreza rs thats been converted to wrx engine and drivetrain. if i do an ez30 swap i want it to be a 5 speed and also throw a turbo setup on it as well.. how much was it for iwire to do ur wiring?? thats my only concern right now
Devin Hudgens I paid $950 for it because I had them do a rush order which was a extra 200 bucks. So if you do the normal 1 month wait it'll be about $750. But that's only if they don't add anything else to your harness merge they added a extra 80 bucks for a fuel regulator.

Devin Hudgens it's defiantly a fun swap I love the low end torque but sadly the car is broken and I'm driving a svx everyday. I put a transmission with too many miles on it but oh well I have a new one that I'm going to put in when it starts to warm up.
Had to shave the radiator fan bracket down due to my 2 row aluminium radiator
Did you swap out the rear diff? Custom driveshaft or no?
What if I only have the engine mount and wiring from my ej25 I just have the engine the ez30d also I want the before and after to be automatic not manual trans so what extra or less work do I need to do?
Do you have to take the engine out to do valve cover gaskets?
Is the Outback final drive gear ratio a match to the Impreza rear end or do you have to swap that as well.

Its wayless complicated . You can take the hole harness from a legacy h6 and cut down the harness yourself. Its even easier of you have a 5 speed. Take a look at my channel .

I have a 2006 impreza 2.5 5spd and really want to swap the h6 since i already have 600hp sti. Can you offer any advice regarding swapping a ez30r into my 06 impreza? Not much on the forums like you mentioned.

I will let you know of you dont go standalone you will need everything to and I mean HVAC system all the HVAC buttons and dash to make it run under a OEM ECU. But there are a couple of forums for ez30r swaps and haltech has some maps so finding a base tune wouldn't be too hard to find
Also been looking at the 3.0r spec b with 6 speed trans. not to expensive but have not found a set for sell with a complete engine harness or ecu. might be a possible option.

How many hours do you think it took? I have an EZ30 with a blown headgasket sitting in my garage, wondered about wedging it into a bugeye. You kept AWD?
Snap-off it's probably a solid 2 days if you know what your doing for me it's half a day to pull a engine and put it back in. But honestly I would recommend you to replace the head gaskets before you put it in its a pain to replace in the car. Also the ez30d is a very complex engine to take apart.

EcBuddy123 the plumbing for the AC compressor is different so you would not run a stock ej AC system. Well I wasnt able to you might get lucky with a forester.
