L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue , France in 4K (UHD)

L'Ile-sur-la-Sorgue is one of the most delightful places in #Provence. This town, located in the #Vaucluse department, 20 km from Avignon, is called the “Venice of Provence”: its history and landscape have been shaped by the Sorgue River.
The #Sorgue River forms several branches and canals that divide the city into several islands. This incredibly transparent emerald river and the ancient water wheels preserved on it, telling about the industrial past of this "Provencal Venice", give the local landscapes a special attraction and uniqueness. Once upon a time there were over 60 water wheels, although a little more than a dozen have survived to this day.
The small town is famous for its many antique shops, and on Sundays there are antique markets.
