It's wild how many of these rugged devices are popping up anymore. Can't say I see a lot of them in the wild but people must be purchasing them since there's legitimately hundreds of them available. From a build perspective, it's crazy how much phone you get for the money
I’ve purchased 4 different rugged phones from 4 different brands. A Kyocera, a Doogee, a conquest, and a Ulefone. Of saw ONE other person . Of those 4, I’ve only seen another person with the Kyocera. But I’m the ONLY person I’ve ever seen with the others.
The Ulefone power armor 13 has vastly superior build quality, it's designed to not break, it's screwed together instead of glued, and the waterproof seal looks like a gasket you'd find in a car engine
I'm fairly new to the rugged phone community. I've had my Unihertz Tank for a month but I'm still checking reviews of other brands. I bought it before knowing that there were many other options. The device in this video seems to check all the right boxes except for Verizon compatibility, per the comments.
I love being on Verizon, but they seem to never be compatible with some of the best rugged phones... Was looking at the Tank myself, so I'm glad to hear that it is compatible.

I think this is a possible weakness of the Doogee phones for impact on the extreme corners. My new Doogee S80 screen cracked when it accidently was knocked off the car seat onto the tarmac (car parked and stationary). So basically from hip hight. This happened a few years back and the S80 still works 100% today.
I updated with an S88 Pro phone, and this has taken a heck of a lot of falls during past years without fault, and zero marks or cracks to the screen.
But I'm wandering if the extra weight of VMax can contribute to increased accidental damage to screen if the impact is directly on the corner.
@@muhdaimanharith My S88 Pro gets heavy use and abuse daily, in all weather, mud, rain, snow, up mountains and videos underwater in lakes and raging streams. It's had a lot of drops and heavy impacts for almost three years, and still in perfect condition and looks like new. I wouldn't be able to say that about my previous iPhones.
@@muhdaimanharith The V-Max is no different to the S88 & S80, just slightly larger battery. The robustness of the casings on these phones is very similar and generally don't break on impact. It is always the tempered glass that becomes a week point during severe impact at the very corner, possibly when there is slight flex of the casing that cracks the edge of the Gorilla glass.
Oh man. I’m disappointed that it didn’t survive the drop test. 😢😢 Note: Always do the drop test LAST😅

I can imagine how good the 1080 is
I have other phones with the 1080, it's amazing. As for the drop test, I did about 5 to 10 times, at about 10ft to 20ft...it made it through ALL of them, but the LAST ONE. I was shocked lol.

Probably the screen landed over a stone, and no screen would survive that, unless you have a proper protective layer pulled over it!

For devices with a programmable button, I always set the flashlight to turn on with a double tap, it's far less likely the turn on in your pocket
This phone does support SD Card expansion. I have one SIM card and a 500Gb SDXC card in it now.
