- A truly special drive, reuniting this 1972 Triumph Spitfire MkIV with its previous owner of 42 years. In that time, Fred put on close to 100,000 miles, and maintained the car immaculately. In the third and final part of this video series, I will be thumbing through the five folders of history and maintenance of this Triumph. If you missed the first part, where I drive the Spitfire on a cold November day, check it out here: • My review of a 1972 Tr...

I own and maintain a Japanese import bright yellow 1999 Honda S2000, and this channel with document the maintenance, upgrades and modifications I do on the car, as well as some of the adventures I get up to in it.
Great video. Well kept Triumph.
Fred should definitely feel a true sense of pride for taking such wonderful care of this particular Spitfire over the years.
I have a mk3 and have changed the rear leaf spring to the mk4 one and it cures the problem, personally I prefer the round tail spitfire, but that is a very nice mk4.
The Mark 4 had the swing spring rear suspension which meant rear wheel tuck under was essentially prevented. It was also used in the last of the GT6 models. Nice car.
Unbelievably I had a 72 mkIV which I bought in 74 in sapphire blue. I had the tuck during my ownership, went round a bend with a hump and suddenly I was facing the wrong way. Wish I still had it instead of a wreck of a stag I am trying to save.
That is one well screwed together Spitfire you can just tell how well it has been maintained massive credit to Fred.
Great story really enjoyed it.
Thank you artiexr22, glad you enjoyed this series.
Thanks Artex222. It was a great car to own and I’m happy to have passed the car on to my nephew. Selling it was never a possibility. Take care. Frederick.
Shure they raced the Spitfires, in -64 they had 3 cars at Le Mans!! Here at youtube you can find a nice film: ” how to race spitfires” In 73 with the spit
