Have you ever heard of Conservatoire ? There is a huge difference between playing contemporary music and classical music. When you play classical music you don’t simply play a melody you create a real harmonie between the voices, you transcend the piece, even an easy Bach sinfonia is much harder to play right than a cover.

You guys do realise the composer is being 100% Japanese-style modest when berating himself and roasting his staff. But he's genuinely complimenting the piano. Japanese don't say "thanks" when complimented, they deny it being anything special, humble :)
Yes they do!! I know this from first hand experience because I’m half and have been many times for my family and it’s so annoying while interesting at the same time. I used to wonder “why can’t they just accept the compliment I gave them?”

I can play the really fast ones but struggle with the slow and easy ones
So I guess it is like that but on a whole new level

@@NobleLaika the slow and 'easy' ones are not so much muscle memory like the fast ones, more about how you control the sound and that it won't intervene with the other sounds or melodies that are played simultaneously. If the piece is played with a pedal (literally all anime openings lol) then you have to make sure you don't hold the pedal for too long and be precise with how the melodies differ with the pedal.
Classical is definitely harder than all of fonzi’s covers. I hate playing both tho, for some reason some parts of animenz covers make me rage less than fonzi covers

Well I do recommend learning a bit of classical- it's got all the basic stuff in there. It will make playing any anime song easier. I'm more classical musician. In fact I don't think there will be any anime arrangement harder than a classical piece. Not even Aminenz unravel can surpass maybe Liszt or Ravel.

classical music is way harder to play than this, believe me
Playing classical music involves more emotion and intricacies which is what he is probably referring to. Being technically able doesn't mean you can play classical music well. It's so so so much more than that.

This is nothing compared to the intricacies and perfection needed to play a lot of classical music. Being able to play fast and hit all the notes is only a small small portion of what you need to become a great classical musician.
He’s improvises which is a skill he probably practiced so much for, but he was probably born with the ability to improvise well

I'll believe what he says about coincidence. I think there's a theory discussed to us before that there are people who think alike, just because we're all humans. We're alile so we'll think alike. And in this case, maybe it was because the vive of AOT is just that chord progression, that mood, that energy, and it just happens that they both think it's the most fitting chord to put there. It's actually amazing. At least the songs agree with each other.
