@1944johndeerel the old diesel isnt as flamable as the new stuff. i left it running at 1300 RPM today, and it wouldnt burn it cleanly, just blue smoke and raw diesel out the exhaust pipe. took it out for a 1900 rpm run across the field in the dark in 8th gear to get the exhaust temps up and cook everything out of the engine. it cleared right up after that. hopefully new fuel fixes that problem.
@91CTD those 3010's are a big too small for my liking. but gotta love the original deere diesel the R. 208 cubes a cylinder haha. big ol lungs for sure!
@SuperJohndeere4020 new temp and fuel gauges as they dont work, new batteries, rewire the lights, straighten the hood, probably wont paint it, new seat, then hook it onto something and go work the dirt. i brought it down here to be a work tractor, pull the manure spreader, post pounder, rock picker, swather, bale wagon, small cultivator, run the grain vac. oh itll do everything the 4320 is too big for but does anyways.
Cool At work (machine shop) we are rebuilding the engine from a 3010, It's a gasser though. Also working on a MOdel R 2 cylinder diesel. 416 cubic inch ahaha
oh do you now? boy ive been driving tractors since i was 8. ive put over 3,000 hours on our 4320 ALONE. let alone whatever ive rolled up on the 8630. and the way this hay field grows, a little tractor driving over it isnt gonna slow it down. the shit grows horribly thick, its always tangled and plugging the hole on the swather.
@SuperJohndeere4020 its not so much that, but the 4320 is a bit bigger and 116 horsepower running a post pounder or a rock picker is a little excessive when 91 horse will easily get the job done.
@FarmMan8802 was in the shop at the time of the video since i was going to split the tractor to put a new clutch in it. theres a now clutch in it now and its ready to go, i just need to make a new video.
yea real funny. the shits got so much alfalfa in it, and its so fluffy after its been cut, it sometimes wads up in the hole. so end of the story is, im not harming the field, fuck off.
to make dumbasses like you ask stupid questions. im just taking the tractor for a drive after i got it unseized and running. this little bit of driving on frozen ground isnt going to do shit to the hayfield bright one. so before you go shooting off your infinete wisdom on hay crops, maybe you should actually look into it before you end up looking like a fucktard.
You've got to be kidding. Arguing over this..WOW

@pwarren1010 8 speed syncro range. powershift didnt come along untill 1964 in the 4020
Sweet!
That was fast!

Wow it sure is running very nice on old diesel fuel. Can't get that same result with 15 year old gas lol
@6030diesel yah, the 4320 probably could use a break.

I love the sound of the diesel! you must be happier then a pig in shit lol
So what all are you going to do to this tractor besides a new clutch?
Wheeeee!
Put a turbo on it!
8spd powershift?
yep real tough, trying to call someone out over youtube comments...
