I use to be a preschool teacher and the key word that was drilled into us was “ open ended” when it came to good toys. If they only do one thing no good. But if he can use a toy for many things like a plastic banana can be pretend cooked or it can be a telephone or even a magic wand.
Go on their IG page. As of a day ago from when I’m posting this it seems like they went on a cruise with Maikos mom and sister. Maybe even dad but he wasn’t in the picture
My daughter was born a week after Wolfie in Japan too (during Covid so no partners like Maiko) so I love seeing your updates. We are having exactly the same struggles with food and toys with our toddler too! I don’t have any advice, but it’s so nice to know we’re all doing our best against the same challenges ❤️ You’re both wonderful parents as far as we can see and I’m sure you’re doing great! Thank you for the updates. Fingers crossed to both our families when we have to eventually navigate schooling here in Japan…
That's a really cute ball tunnel contraption. Kids may love toys but nothing really beats something a parent creates/DIYs for their children to play on/with. I am telling you, these will be the ones that are most unforgettable. Just a little story since I can relate. We had bags of toys as a kid but the best thing we got was the seesaw made by my grandfather. It was rather simple & it did not last long but that memory will forever be precious to me.
Sorry for commenting so much but I wanted to do one last one. From the videos I’ve seen y’all are fantastic parents! You interact with him , you respect his boundaries ( he wasn’t having that bibe and you honored that) you encourage but don’t force new experiences. He’s very attached to you both which is good. The best thing I could ever tell parents is they are doing a great job and y’all are. Wolfey is very blessed to have you as parents.
You're such a sweet and nurturing father Paolo, making arts and crafts with him, toys to help feed his imagination and curiosity, you're such a cute family and Wolfy is adorable, bless his heart
That train bento is amazing!! We do the same with kids, if there is a packaging that really made them interested in food I would wash it out and use it again with some home made food. We do same with drinks. We prefer not to give them only water, but we put it in funny bottles. Makes it more interesting to them.
i wonder how it looks like if wolfy eat together with Sutan (Kimono Mom), maybe he can get some encouragement. Coz sutan eats very well and eat variety of foods. And maybe you can make feeding-parenting tips from Moe so that toddler 1 year old can eat well too :)
You're on spot. It's important to "allow for boredom" to train creativity. Can't find the research to back it up right now, but it was done with Harry Potter wands vs sticks.
Paolo!, so cool toy!!! Maiko so glad you're well. You two are so creative, and remember your little guy's tastes will change as he gets older. Great video, Wolfy is so cute🤏🤏❗ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was the same with My son, and nephews. The Magic way to make then eat was for them to watch cartoons or a movie to keep them entertanied while feeding them. Works like a charm. They just Open their mouth and eat.
There’s also interesting ways of getting new foods into a toddler. Make them look like what he likes. My personal favorite is puréed zucchini in pasta sauce
As a teacher of very young children and a mom of two, my advice is less toys, otherwise they stop feeling special. But... best thing you can do it take him out into an open space like a park to play. Let him use found objects like stones and sticks. And making toys with him out of recycled stuff is awesome. You did it as a child, and look how creative you are, Paulo!
When it comes to food I guess boundaries don't matter. Most parents go through the same trouble. And kids these days are super smart. You can't fool them.
Oh my gosh this is my life right now too. Though if you want some encouragement I have friends who said as kids they ate only mac and cheese but are now adults who eat a fun variety. But it's so disheartening. And I can't even eat my kid's scraps anymore since being diagnosed celiac haha!
I swear my kids did not eat once they could walk. I was always trying to catch them to try and put food in their mouths. I also did not go to a restaurant for about 2 years cause they refused to sit still to eat. One person was always having to walk around the kiddo while the other parent quickly ate. Good times!
I know how it is with picky kiddos. Lol My kiddo is 15 now and eats alot more new things, but is still picky with certain food items. Just have to do it on their time. One thing that helped me was, I would mix certain foods together that she liked and didn't like. For example, I steamed broccoli ( she didn't like) and mixed it with some Velveeta cheese a d ritz crackers,( more broccoli than cheese or crackers) and she loves it still to this day. Hang in there
i never had any problems feeding my 2 boys, they eat whatever is served most of the time. they still eat what they dont like but tells me after so i wont cook it again. they are now grown ups and likes veggies so much i dont know why ^_^ Japan has a very different diet and feeding style from the rest of the world.
I know some parents are against television, but if your baby is struggling with eating, sometimes if you play Elmo (or whatever show they prefer), you can sneak a whole meal in their mouth while they watch. Hope that helps! (Also, where did you get the booster seat that attaches to your regular chair? Or is that built in? If so, where can I buy one, please?)
Just keep trying different food. Every kid / time is different. Our 21 month girl like noodles (white and pasta) she would take out meat inside a dumpling and just eat the wrap. But on other days she will throw out the wrap and only eat the meat. It is a mystery of the universe.

This is so satisfying. We are watching Wolfy grow up. Thanks guys for allowing us to be part of your extended family
Hoping to see the day that wolfy interacts with Maiko’s grandparents.
Have they even ever been to visit?
Hope to see Wolfy speak tagalog with Paolo's parents and family…
@@CodeDeb Paolo uploaded a photo in his IG of wolfy and maikos mother together so I’m guessing yes
Go on their IG page. As of a day ago from when I’m posting this it seems like they went on a cruise with Maikos mom and sister. Maybe even dad but he wasn’t in the picture
The little Wolfy really seems a miniature of "Paolo From Tokyo" ... beautiful family, best wishes for all !!!

Wolfy is such a badass, having 2 grown chauffeurs running around at his whims

Hi beautiful family! You guys rock! I love seeing Wolfy grows up so happy! ❤️
I like it when Maiko speaks fast japanese. Its gives the super authentic Japanese home vibe
Wolfy is literally my internet nephew! So adorable and sweet 🥰
You're such a sweet and nurturing father Paolo, making arts and crafts with him, toys to help feed his imagination and curiosity, you're such a cute family and Wolfy is adorable, bless his heart
Glad to see Maiko is better!
My older sister used to make Barbie clothes for my dolls, and I absolutely loved it! Three cheers for creativity!!
Thank you! 😊
I really enjoy the videos you guys make. And wow, Wolfy have growing fast. I wish the best for your family 🤗
Wow Wolfy is getting big and hope you have a fantastic 2022 with him and many more years to come

The train弁当 box is soooo cool!!!!
We used to use tissue boxes, tp rolls and fabric scraps from Mom's sewing to make doll houses and clothes, far more fun that my tin doll house!
We got a similar bento box for our son when we were in Japan. He loved it for years! I think it was at the Shinkansen museum (which was a lot of fun)
Another wonderful video! I can relate to the end with “Wolfy, Wolfy, Wolfy…”. We’ve all been there. 😊
Take care!
Wolfie's adorable and so is your family!
Love it.. ❤ from New Zealand

Awww, I said it before Wolfy is so adorable!😄😄😄😄😄 Love the handmade toy Paolo made him. Cute bento box.
I love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
What a sweetheart 💖 great parenting too
It's OK Wolfi, I am scared of bees, too!
You're on spot. It's important to "allow for boredom" to train creativity. Can't find the research to back it up right now, but it was done with Harry Potter wands vs sticks.
Love the video! Love the train bento box that Wolfy tried and played with!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Paolo!, so cool toy!!! Maiko so glad you're well. You two are so creative, and remember your little guy's tastes will change as he gets older. Great video, Wolfy is so cute🤏🤏❗ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
i believe creativity is very important !!!!!!
SO AWESOME AWW 🥰
Ever so challenging world of parenting! Don't despair and keep up the good work, both of you got it~ ^_^b
Wolfy is so adorable.

Look into Mark Robers new building kits for kids and such, looked awesome (if not for his age) then maybe soon? 👍👍
There’s also interesting ways of getting new foods into a toddler. Make them look like what he likes. My personal favorite is puréed zucchini in pasta sauce
The good thing is kid bodies are expert at extracting nutrition from whatever they eat.
Wolfing us so very cute, and he looks so healthy and robust!
Love these videos
That's a really cool toy you made, Paolo!
😃 wolfy is getting so tall. I like his smile. He is a handsome young boy
Audi got dough...Shi Shi...Kamsahamnida...Salamat 😍😍😍
Always so cute 😍
nice video
Thomas and Friends was my favorite as a little kid and is still my favorite. How popular is the Thomas toys in Japan?
Best dad ever! 🤠
Ok this not fair … you are using this little cute adorable guy to earn my like … i mean it totally worked 100% but you know what I mean lol
I am from the United States and went to Tokyo in 2015 and McDonalds is sooo much better over there!!
Nice video😊

I missed Wolfy, Thank you for sharing with us :(
“This is a NEW train!” LOL 🤣🤣

Ooooo I want a train Bento!!!

How many months is he? He seems advanced

hope maiko is fully recovered Paolo when I saw the video I was very worried
1) opens up the train
2) doesn't like the food
3) closes the train
🤣🤣
Can you please name the app you used on ipad for Wolfe to learn animals names?
Wow his mom worked so hard to build his palette. I hope all children eat healthier... 😌

Aww
Hope Maiko's doing well!
Half way around the world, some kid is using the exact same Amazon plate as my own kid.
im sad i have to wait another month to see the next video :(
Everyone knows food tastes better when it's served from a train 🥰
He eats broccoli? That's a big win 😁
Guess he likes broccoli but hates bees. Haha so cute.
❤️❤️❤️❤️

I really like your videos but can you make a video on day in life on your another channel please
My daughter is around Wolfy's age, and she's not the biggest fan of onigiri now. Maybe I need a train!
Wolfy’s left handed!
Wolfy is getting so big
Lmao did not expect the bento train being used again 😆
Omg Wolfy grows sooo fast so cute, same problem with my 1 year old son ,He is always saying no to food 😂 but He likes ONIGIRI 🍙 RICE BALL 🍙
He likes broccoli which is great!
At least he eats his broccoli! 😁
Do you and your household visit other family members, or do they visit you in Japan?
I am 20 and i too wanna play with that ball contraption😭
At first I thought it was a shuttle from star trek ngen
💕
Being creative is fun. I made smiley faces with my kids food. Sometimes even do it for my husband for fun lol.
You sell your kid. Shame on you. I hope they will punish your kid in scool. You will pay for his mind Doktor. Only cause you Want money
Ah the picky eater toddler. I have one too. 😰
It looks like Japanese kids are a lot like American kids. I know that Wolfie is half American but he's growing up in Japan.
It's hard been a parents
no gimmicks. if he eats, he eats.
Hi I am just wondering why you hang the banana 🍌.
I know this may be too early or uncomfortable to ask, but when will Wolfy start potty training? You don't have to answer if you don't want to!
Thestruggles of feeding a toddler. They're discovering what they lik and dont like to eat
Well, It’s certainly reassuring that picky eaters aren’t culture-exclusive haha
Don't force food on kids. My parents ruined certain vegetables for me. Your taste change as you get older.
I've worked in early childhood education for 10 years and you both need to stop fussing and let him make his own choices
