Literally i was so happy to FINALLY see Japril together they have taken almost all characters and squash them. Do i think Japril could have a spin off absolutely. Grey's anatomy looks like its wrapping up . They might grab it after by having Japril come back for 19 . Early on 18 it was said that Ellen , Chandra and James were coming back for 19.
Another Japril : The Movie IV (New Horizons) in Boston as an episode would be absolutely great. Maybe when Grey's ends and they can have a wedding in a field with butterflies and some sneak peeks into their future together

How do you explain Sarah Drew revealing this week that when she returned as part of Jesse Williams’ exit that the writers (that would include Krista) had written that April was still with Matthew and they all moved to Boston together. It was Sarah and Jesse that pushed for “hope for Japril”. So doesn’t look like you can credit Krista with that 🤪. And Alex? 🤣 They hadn’t written his exit before his contract was over so they had to figure out a way to write him off without seeing him onscreen again. It was either he died (which they didn’t want to subject Jo to) or something that be big enough for him to leave and not turn back: Izzy has had his kids. So that endgame was out of desperation and a showrunner dropping the ball and not preparing a proper exit for him. Definitely not a “win” for Krista. And in his letters, he kept saying that he loves and that he chooses his wife and that the right thing is in Seattle but he never once said that he is in love with her. He said that he is in love with Izzie and that the perfect thing is in Kansas by having a family with her and that he is finally exactly where he should be-..Full circle poor soul. And his character literally got his happy ending but Jolex Clowns want Alex dead or crazy because his happiness isn't with Jo who was treating him like crap for years anyway. Also, there is an interview with Camilla Luddington and she said that she asked the writers as to why Jo's character needed to know about Izzie's eggs in season 12 and then she said that she didn't receive an answer and that it could be potentially a big issue..The writers warned the fandom for years and my sympathies poor poor soul. I have to disagree with you about the idea that ABC is toying with the idea of keeping Grey's going sans Ellen Pompeo. For one thing, it's not wholly their decision to make. Shondra Rhimes may no longer be the show runner but she has a big say and she's been very vocal publicly that when Ellen is done so is she. Yes, it's an ensemble cast but Ellen is the anchor and Shonda knows this. There are no longer enough beloved Grey's characters left to keep the audience happy and tuning in without Meredith there. I'm sure Grey's ending is not a happy thought for ABC execs but there comes a time when it's time to move on. Had they been smart enough to not let Netflix poach Shonda from them the end of Grey's might seem less daunting but that's a different conversation.
I always thought it would be great to have a spin-off with these two. They should never have broken them up.

I have to disagree with you about the idea that ABC is toying with the idea of keeping Grey's going sans Ellen Pompeo. For one thing, it's not wholly their decision to make. Shondra Rhimes may no longer be the show runner but she has a big say and she's been very vocal publicly that when Ellen is done so is she. Yes, it's an ensemble cast but Ellen is the anchor and Shonda knows this. There are no longer enough beloved Grey's characters left to keep the audience happy and tuning in without Meredith there. I'm sure Grey's ending is not a happy thought for ABC execs but there comes a time when it's time to move on. Had they been smart enough to not let Netflix poach Shonda from them the end of Grey's might seem less daunting but that's a different conversation.
