Things I learned as a kid in the 1980's about microwave ovens. Never try to cook eggs in their shells (They explode). Don't reheat food on mom's dishes that have gilt edges (They spark & ruin the gold). Don't try to roast meats (My mom tried to cook a corned beef brisket & it was raw in the middle and hard as a rock on the outside. Also, meat tends to pop & leave bits everywhere on the inside). Always cover your food because you never know if it will pop & leave a mess. Anything with sugar in it will melts quickly and feel like the fire of 1000 suns if it gets on your skin because it is so hot. Butter will melt quickly and then pop. Leave plenty of room for liquids to expand in your dish. They tend to boil over and leave a mess.
And liquid can't boil unless it has some resistance from something (a toothpick works fine), otherwise the microwave will literally explode. I was at my friend's house and he was reheating coffee and the door to the microwave blew across the room 😂.

I myself do not have these devices, because they are very expensive, but other special devices, which are comparable to the microwave, is the Thermomix from Vorwerk or Bosch, a versatile kitchen appliance with which you can chop, mix, heat, cook and sauté or a Western bread maker, for example, from Morphy Richards or Panasonic, with which you can bake voluminous bread, but not flat bread as in the video. There you have to put all the ingredients in and just press the button. Then it is automatically seduced, kneaded and baked.
A relative owned an A&W. Sometime in the 60's my mother and I were visiting before the restaurant opened and he made us hot dogs, 30 seconds in his new microwave. We were so amazed, but it still took us another ten years before we got one of our own.
This was fun to see! One thing I noticed I don't think they waited for the bread maker's light to change so it was a bit slower to get the products ready because they kept opening it and losing a bit of the heat.
A jacket potato really shows the benefit of a microwave oven - especially if it combines with the fan oven. Popcorn is easily made, even without a microwave, so it's not such a big deal.
I would gladly give everything I have to these beautiful people. What would be interesting would be Ruby's (and other women's) reaction to an automatic washing machine. I guess that they spend a lot of time every week doing all the laundry by hand. I have the same issue with my Filipina girlfriend, who lives in a slum. I know that in Europe washing machines were a big part in the liberation of women, who could then spend the time (one or two days a week) previously used to do the family laundry with more useful or profitable tasks (education, or having a job earning their own money).

New gadgets to them but not to us. I remember my mum having a microwave in the early 80’s. I also remember getting my first microwave age 18 in my first home. I still have a microwave (not the same one!) 356 years later. I only use it for things like heating baked beans or reheating my cup of tea when it’s cooled down. I never have ready meals so it’s not needed for much else.
That bread gadget would be awesome to use. I passed on buying prepackaged Naan at the grocery store because I didn't want to heat my oven at 400 degrees F for only two and a half minutes.
thanks for this!(: It's interesting to see the microwave referred to as a "new gadget" lol it's an indispensable, invaluable, ubiquitous, omnipresent (if you don't know those words, it's अपरिहार्य, अमूल्य, सर्वव्यापी, सर्वव्यापी in hindi according to google translate) machine since decades ago, it appeared in the late 1970s I think or around then... and you can't cook in it, just heat up, but still, and the melting point for glass is 1700C so no worries hah it doesn't get that hot, so glass is safe as is porcelain and ceramic and some plastics, just don't put metal or any plastic in it (: and it alerts you when the countdown is at 00:00 and you can burn food, if you put it for too long, and inversely, if it's not set for long enough, it won't be ready yet I wonder if you can make pancakes in that second one... well said, but you can use that even if there IS a woman in the house, we're/you're not slaves/servants for men or any gender! I don't care what's in your pants, get off your butt and make your own damn food, unless I choose to make it for you! Adults aren't meant to be babies if they can be adults. Even my friend's 4yo son helps with the food preparing as does my 4yo daughter. have a good week all!
I’ve noticed many of the men in various tribal channels do a lot of cooking and other so-called woman’s work. But Badshah has trouble standing, so he probably doesn’t do any cooking or many other household duties. So I do not consider his comment necessarily a sexist one, rather just a fact for him in his situation.
This is a very modern version though. But it does show how isolated they are where they live, I guess. Blessings and drawbacks alike in that I imagine.
I've got a good microwave, though it doesn't have the convection or grilling options. But you can cook in it. It's great for casseroles. Or baking lasagna after it's assembled. Has to be the right things, but some just need long, steady heat, which it does. The tortilla maker is neat! It'd be nice to make a pile of roti for a family dinner. I wonder if you could do something like a Cuban sandwich?
I often get Catweazle vibes seeing these videos. Like they were transported from the Middle Ages into these modern times. I have been using microwaves for 40 years, while it was around in professional kitchens from 1946. It shows the incredible and unfair difference in living standards between the difference areas of the world.
I'm happy they got to see and use the machine but I'm sad that Americans🇺🇸 take so much for granted We have so many small appliances in our home that just sit there on the shelf that we don't even use just the other day I thought about giving away my crockpot and all my baking pans Bread pans Banana bread pan Cake pans Pizza pans Cupcake pans Cookie Sheets Silicone baking sheets etc I just dont use them any longer
Ideally, in an aluminium dish... :D But seriously - there must be some compilation of weird things being microwaved. That could be an interesting watch. Alone for the clarification that you just can't put everything into a microwave.
fist time I used a microwave was for heating up canned green peas/carrots.The result was magical: the peas exploded and every little morcel of carrot got splatterd everywhere in the device. great fun guaranteed. Everyone should try it at least one time before he dies..

This is a very modern version though. But it does show how isolated they are where they live, I guess. Blessings and drawbacks alike in that I imagine.
i have a craving for popcorn and bread now mmm tasty
I have seen Villagers' reactions to various things and various music artists, but not once have they seen the king of rock n roll, Elvis Presley
The tall guy is obsessed with chicken 😂😂😂
I think he is muslim that's why 😂
It was an engineer from India that invented the microwave oven. There's a movie about it.
You're wrong. It was an US American called Percy Spencer.
It was a Raytheon engineer who noticed the magnetron in a radar system caused his chocolate bar to melt.
The smell of burned popcorn in a microwave is one you'll not soon forget.
This would have been the perfect infomercial! After I watch that I would buy one if I didn't have one!
I wish the lady wasn't so close to the microwave radiation that could possibly leak. Lol
I was wondering the same about the thickness it could handle.
Is it just me or does Uncle Badshah look a little like Carel Struycken? They're both legends 😊!
@02:46
Uupsie. How did Saaru knew he had to press a button to open the locked door, if he supposedly never saw/used a microwave before?
I often get Catweazle vibes seeing these videos. Like they were transported from the Middle Ages into these modern times.
I have been using microwaves for 40 years, while it was around in professional kitchens from 1946. It shows the incredible and unfair difference in living standards between the difference areas of the world.
Badshah is looking much better and healthier in these later videos.
Popcorn in a bag would have been less work😂 and less cleanup-Pop and toss.
Now I want one of those bread making machines. We don't usually have that in America.
We do have them in America, but here they are called electric tortilla makers.
👍
I'm happy they got to see and use the machine
but I'm sad that Americans🇺🇸 take so much for granted
We have so many small appliances in our home that just sit there on the shelf that we don't even use
just the other day I thought about giving away my crockpot and all my baking pans
Bread pans
Banana bread pan
Cake pans
Pizza pans
Cupcake pans
Cookie Sheets
Silicone baking sheets etc
I just dont use them any longer
Badshah is a giant O_O
Popcorn, hmmm... be right back. Edit, I wish I had paused the vid. I cannot rewind the microwave. I burnt it watching the vid.
would have been amuzing to heat a egg in the microwave so they could see what happens.
Ideally, in an aluminium dish... :D
But seriously - there must be some compilation of weird things being microwaved. That could be an interesting watch. Alone for the clarification that you just can't put everything into a microwave.
@@dmschoice2571 You should never put metal vessels in a microwave! Many do not know this and thus ruin their microwave oven.
fist time I used a microwave was for heating up canned green peas/carrots.The result was magical: the peas exploded and every little morcel of carrot got splatterd everywhere in the device. great fun guaranteed. Everyone should try it at least one time before he dies..
You should have them react to Dimash singing Daididau in Bastau. Dimash is in Mumbai right now.
Remember that you should never put metal vessels in a microwave! Many do not know this and thus ruin their microwave oven.
