Seeing a whole lot of mixed feelings on the GT7 version so I’ll throw in my thoughts: Personally, I really like the new environment. We’ve never really had a track like this in Gran Turismo before. It’s usually just dedicated race tracks, city streets, or a hybrid of track and highway (like la Sarthe). On one hand: I like the new approach. I expected there to be changes, like they did with deep forest and trial mountain. It’s good to change things up instead of copy/paste the same track over and over and tweak the aesthetics. On the other hand: it would have been cool to drive the OG grand valley in this new game with new physics and graphics. Right now, I’m enjoying it. I don’t know if it’ll keep growing on me over time, or die down eventually.
This shit looks like some Assetto Corsa reimagining of the track that's attempting to avoid plagiarism lmao. I was fine with the other tracks having changes because they at least retained the spirit of the track, this looks nothing like Grand Valley. It's not even in a valley, it's on the side of a hill.
I am all for changes if it done right this grand Valley remind me of some part of california either kazunori yamauchi or his staff went to the states and got some inspiration

In my opinion, they had to make new track with this scenery, because Grand Valley (as the track) doesn't look good in this new scenery. It doesn't fit basically. Also, that environment looks (at least for me) kinda uncanny because of that track layout.
I don't know man, this is Grand Valley Highway, not Speedway. I don't think they gonna add the OG, but I don't think we should take this as a remastered version of the original either. I don't think there's any comparison point honestly.

The redesign is a bit much for me overall, and I'll echo some comments on the environment being lackluster in detail, but I do like how they referenced the old gravel trap runoff at T1 (or T2 if you count the slight left bend as T1) as a coned-off road in this new version. Layout-wise it is Grand Valley, elevation-wise it is no longer Grand Valley, and if muscle memory isn't going to help me on this track, it may as well be a different track.
I still don’t like the GT7 Grand Valley. It was very underwhelming. I just don’t get why they didn’t just do a remodeling of the old track like they did with Trial Mountain and Deep Forest. At least it’s called HIGHway instead of SPEEDway. So I guess there’s still hope 😂

Love how PD add the 901 2.7 Carrera this time.(Couldn't care less about the rest of the cars) About Grand Valley "Highway": Honestly, I love this coastal look for this track. But the other part of me expecting an slightly revised/updated from the OG version (Kinda like Deep Forest). And yeah, the layout are kinda same but the vibes are totally different. As if it's an entire new track instead of returning one.🥲
Yep, having R246 in 2023 urban update would be great. They would likely just change the aesthetics based on 2023. As for special stages...they need to find a way...
Special Stage 5(Original or Clubman) are 1 of my favorites tracks from GT2, But ever since PD put Tokyo Expressway already. I'm quite pessimistic PD reuse "Tokyo Highway" theme for Special Stage Route.(Whether it's 5, 7 or 11)
If we ever get the special stages back, I think we'll see them in the same environment as route X. Could be that "mystery infield" I keep seeing a video about.
Holy damn, it really IS a remake of Grand Valley Speedway! It looks awesome, but I guess with all the real life racetracks, it's quite a breath of fresh air! I like what PD went with, it's already got some landmarks before, but now it's a heaven for photo mode with a sprinkle of nostalgia.
I've always loved the contrast between the skyscrapers and the mountain (and ocean?) view in the first version, the windowed tunnels, the way you can see the grandstands peek back into view coming out of the final chicane... new track shocked me good, although let it be said it's beautiful in it's own right
I honestly think some are actually suffering from depression and don't know it and when something like nostalgia happens and then isn't exactly what they want they a very easily upset. Not a dis at anyone just a observation based on experience.

Same here dude. My Late mother got it for me for my Bday a week after it came out and my m8s and I played it non stop for the whole weekend. This definitely feels like were on the cusp of next gen racing and what I dreamed of as a kid.
I really love Grand Valley Speedway, I think it's one of My all time favourite Tracks of all racing games.. I Love what they did in GT7, but man, I really miss thr Grand Stand, The Lake, and The Huge Suspension Bridge after I saw this video..
I'm happy the old tracks are getting attention but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about PD doing complete remodels that could not be done "irl", Trial Mountain and Deep forest were kind of acceptable but this new Grand Valley is basically from a parallel universe now. Also none of the corners have anything in common with the original outside of them being about the same direction in the same order, making it a completely new track. If there's nothing left of the old track why "bring it back" at all? I know it sounds like nitpicking because it is a video game after all but I just don't see the point of it. Other than cashing in on nostalgia. The track can still be good, I'm just sad because this basically means the original will never again be driveable in the series.
I agree, it would be one thing if the tracks were only around for a few years, but we are talking nearly THREE DECADES of pedigree here and the OG tracks are EXTREMELY well designed and race VERY well. Polyphony needs to respect their own legacy better than this imo.
I know people do like the old stuff, but subjectively I much prefer this new redesign as I find it to by way more scenic & it doesn't look too similar to other race tracks as I felt it did when I first saw it in GT5. It dose still retain its tunnels though, which I always found to be it's most recognizable feature. Also, it looks like it will be quite fun in a crusing lobby aswell!
I’m waiting for PD to bring back Red Rock Valley from #2 but I can go on and on about all the old circuits that need a comeback I just hope they don’t go complete haywire on them like they did to Grand Valley.
If the new bridge wasn't based on a real one, Polyphony may have done it. But they wanted to include some of the famous landmarks from California Highway 1. There's still a blue bridge at Circuit de Sainte-Croix though. Must've used a very large digital crane to move it from the US to France lol

Trial Mountain is fine, there are a few changes, but it is mostly the same track. I'd rather see a new Highway track on the West Coast and a more true to form Grand valley remake.

i can imagine 90° rotated GV to a fetus(left end for umbilical, right end for tail or straighten spine, left top for neck). and i was born in 1995. GT was/is true movement from a fetus of all sim racings grown up to a great hero. maybe this could be the kinda reason why I gotten sentimental when playing GT haha Xp

The ocean could never been properly done like this on all the older systems, we have the power in this system to generate these views. The other systems cause of draw distance had to have artificial walls, hence stadiums and rocky mountain walls. Now the power is here and they thought to tack advantage of it with massive draw distances they can do this ocean far off views now. It looks incredible. and yea look at the older ones and it's stadiums everywhere you look on this track, now it looks like a REAL race track, like race tracks look in real life, not stadiums litter all around the map. This is how it would look if you went to a track with your bros and raced cars. it looks REAL, in that regard, a day you and your boys went to a track to race, it would look like this, not stadiums filled with massive audiences. It's a perfect change up, well done. I was also getting tired or race tracks and wanted so just cruising around, this is kinda splitting the difference for me.
The new GT7 version looks very smooth and good flowing for racing as well as being a good choice of scenery, however the only thing that really bugs me is the bridge section and the corner after the bridge through the tunnel. If the remake retained the bridge and following tunnel section from the GT4/GT5/GT6 in terms of flow and design, this remake would've been absolutely perfect in my opinion. (GT7 Bridge is too long and the following corner looks too tight imo*)
GT7=Track has nothing to do with the other Grand Valleys and without a doubt the worst version, even having the best graphics. Gt4 and Gt6=My Favorites.

were gt2 and gt4 emulated in this footage gt2 looked like 60fps and gt4 honda had glowing light strip around windshield
GT1-4 are emulated, 5-7 real hardware.
I could record 1-4 on my PS2, but I don’t have the best setup to use it with my capture device yet

it is not really a redesign, it is simply a new map made from scratch to me. Not saying it is bad or anything, but just no where the same.

GT7 is an amazing racing game, I didn't feel like this since GT3 and GT40 on PS2. I enjoying it a lot on PS5!
