As someone who has put their mom through that, it is NOT your fault. It’s just a point where you just want the pain to end, and think that’s the only way to make it stop after EVERY road you’ve taken has been blocked off. WHEN (not if) he gets out of ICU make sure to tell him you’re not ashamed, and still love him. You don’t know how much that will mean. But guess what sometimes we dodge a bullet sometimes we are the ones that got away sometimes it’s not our lose it’s theirs. This was one of the worst break ups I ever had and I almost took my life and then I realized wtf am I doing. And I look at the trash he was and realized I was better off. He didn’t deserve someone like me. It didn’t help my mom died two weeks later. The most important person in my life. I essentially treat people the way I want to be treated whether or not they follow the same philosophy. Had my faith in humanity stomped out recently, especially since covid.
