- Опубліковано 4 лют 2023
- India’s leading van manufacturer moves upmarket with the Force Urbania premium van. Based on an all-new monocoque platform and available in three wheelbases, we tested the medium wheelbase 14-seater version. Power comes from the venerable 2.6-litre common-rail diesel engine putting out 113bhp and 350Nm. Top speed is limited to 80kmph and 0-60kmph takes 17.5 seconds.
How easy is it to drive this van? And is it suitable for passenger car owners? Editor Sirish Chandran gets behind the wheel to find out.

Would you take the extended family on a road trip with the Force Urbania?
if it gets the automatic, will consider
Yes will think about it, if we are able to buy a shell variant of this for a caravan set up. An automatic transmission will be a huge plus.
@@meonliners8970 Can you give a timestamp?
What about luggage space ?
Offcourse we do!
This van design is highly suitable for motorhomes 🤗
He is circling The 5 door Gurkha again and again
sharp eye dude!
😛😛
That's a Gurkha they're filming in force facility
Nice observation. 👍🏽
Yes, definitely do more on these. Maybe even an episode on camper vans and overlanding etc!
sure thing
Love the idea!
That would be awesome.
Yeah
13:45 Did anyone notice 5 Door Gurka in the background??
Sirish could review a shopping cart and I'd still watch it with popcorn.
hahahaha.... thanks man
How many air bags sir
Thanks Sirish for covering Urbania. I definitely see it making inroads into Ambulance market, Premium caravans or premium interior setup with sofa type seating arrangement(like we saw in the Volvo bus in Autoexpo) which can be used for corporate executive travel. Politicians also will be interested in converting this as a campaign/caravan. This certainly is a leap up in the van/traveler market and might make players like TATA(has winger but not a match to Urabania yet)/Mahindra coming with their own versions.
Everything is fine...but it looks like the product reviewed is entirely copied from famous and old German manufacturer till now...
Why promotion needed for copy product?
But couldn't copy the quality from them still ..
Fyi, Still previous product brake issue isn't solved ....
Thank you! It surely can be converted and used for multiple uses.
That's a handsome van. I just wish there would be an automatic version. The way Sirish has been turning the van left to right and the steering self-centering shows how well handling it is.
An automatic is under consideration, though it still might be some time away
Nice to see Force upping the ante. Excellent video team evo as usual.
Thankyou :)

Yes , this type of vehicle reviews will be fun on this channel
Given the surge in interest in overlanding/ campervan in India, a vehicle like Urbania makes so much sense. It also looks fabulous for a van, very Mercedes Sprinter like, not surprising. I remember the Traveler (at least the earlier ones) having a cut out for a sliding door on the left side, though I haven't seen one with a sliding door yet. The Urbania also, in photos and videos, seems to have a much higher quality in fit/finish, dashboard and panels compared to the Gurkha on sale. Far less panel gaps too. A commercial van, people mover having better interiors than a what is supposed to be a lifestyle vehicle is weird tbh.
Talking about the Gurkha, I kept seeing the test mule over and over again in the video, any chance you'll got to sample it? A yes or no would suffice 😁
Coming back to the Urbania, I think you missed the reversing camera above the rear doors and also flat folding side doors. Also, stressing on the above point about the surge in love for campervans in India, I would love to see more of such vehicles on the channel. Not just vans, may be an episode on overlanding (4x4s) and some ideas/suggestions? Asking too much you think? 😬😬😬
The rear view camera is an optional accessory on the Urbania while parking sensors are standard. As for your interest in overlanding, that is a very cool idea for a future video!
Probably best fit car to make it into a caravan mod, by removing all chairs and set up small kitchen and beds inside. This would start RV trend if factory can offer such fitments.
More such videos are definitely looked for. Please make more of such videos.
with few lakhs of mods this could be made as alternate to toyota vellfire, like 6 captain seats sun blinds better suspension and remove the speed lock
I'm highly disappointed about the lack of airbags in the long wheelbase variant, but I otherwise love this van! It definitely is a world-class product, and I hope it'll be available for private usage as well, with the 80 km/h governor removed, of course.
More such reviews please, Evo!
it's world class yes, but 20 years ago! it's virtually a Mercedes Sprinter van with the same engine and chassis that was doing duty all across the world 2 decades ago.
Everything on road has to look good. Good statement. Please get along with other automobile journalist and write to ministry to increase the length of vehicle from 4 meter to 4.2 meter so that small vehicles look proportionate.
13:45 Gurkha 5-door on test🤩🤩
So underneath its still a Mercedes Sprinter from 80s with Ford Transit like appearance.
This is the best vehicle for caravan making. Hope to see some company making caravans out of these soon.
A caravan out of this will be so cool!
Check motor home adventure
As always great video..
13:45 to 13:51 .. What is that g-wagon like thing in the back doing ?? Any launch timelines ??
Yes we need more of these. Even trucks for that matter. Not just passenger cars, it's about time we also had better utility vehicles in India. Sooner or later people opting for the cheaper vehicles will move on to the better ones!
Well said
Nice review! Had a few questions: commercial license to drive is a must? White board possible? Thanks
you have given very good technical info ...compared to other videos ..thank you ....
A MOTORHOME on URBANIA would be great idea .....
Great looks
Improved ergonomics and safety
Reliable engine 👌👍
That would be cool!
Thanks for the review . Last year I took a family trip with extended family. Acutely aware of shortage of multi seated vehicles in the market- we have good highways but very few options in the multi seater at 7 seats and above in the market .the traveller that I hired broke down mid way- this seems to be a slight upgrade but not really premium want to see Mercedes and other top companies come into this segment. Globally they have many offerings in this segment
Travelling in a large group is lot of fun but very few options in India right now
Looks like it would make a good camper van to live in.
I love @evoindia people making unique video like this. People more videos like this. We love you

👍
First thing which came to my mind- Hearse van. The one used for last rites
11:13 5 door Gurkha standing behind
Finally a video review for urbania ❤️ absolutely loved it. Feel like getting one but 🥺
What is the connect between front airbags and front suspension ( solid axle mostly leaf sptings) , which he spoke about the long wheel base.
Was it just me who noticed the Gurkha 5-door prototype in the background?
Sirish & Presentation = 😎🔥🤘
Can anyone let me know what the relationship is between the lwb version not having any airbags! 🤔
What is the box in the center of the luggage rack?
That's a 5 door Gurkha (Easter egg) calmly standing there stealing the show from the corner. 😅😉
Thanks for the information Sir
Sir very good and important information and well explained thanks
yes please, do winger and stuff, and trucks if possible
Him: We are curious about everything on wheels
Also Him: Up next we have this nice suitcase from VIP
Is it legal to drive this with an LMV driving license in India? I just searched on You Tube and landed on your page, Sirish, thanks for the heads up on the Urbania!
I would buy it, and make a caravan out of it. all I want is an AMT in this.
plz do more of such reviews
This van design is highly suitable for hearse
Awesome video as always can bring similar video for us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How much is a new force traveller?
13:39 the new Gurkha 5-door camouflaged spotted
Very informative
safety rating plz?
Eagerly waiting for JImny episodes!
eagerly waiting to drive the Jimny
We’re eagerly waiting to drive it!
Good one! Looks a lot like the earlier gen. Merc Viano. If we can have a desi Jeep and a desi G Wagen why not a Viano too?
The Urbania has been benchmarked against vans sold globally as a matter of fact
They should use a torque converter automatic with all wheel drive and I'll buy the short when base as an RV.
The wheels are big. And that is the best feature of all.😙
Can we register it in white board
For such a tall vehicle I wish they had placed the rear indicator slightly above than where it is now
Spotted Gurkha 5 door in camafluoge and Some military Busses as well 3-4 times
Am Loving Urbania, Good Job Force.
I am making a calculated guess that the updated 3 door and new 5 door Gurkhas will come with this very same engine configuration with 115 bhp and 350 NM of torque which is significantly better than the 90 bhp 250 NM in my 2021 Gurkha. A drawback ofcourse will be the need for Adblue with these power figures to conform to the stricter emissions norms.
The 90 bhp Gurkha doesn't feel slow but the 115 bhp model will be quite sprightly (by Gurkha standards)
Go for a DieselTronics ECU
The updated 113bhp engine from the Urbania will likely make to the Gurkha 5-door when it is is unveiled
@@evoIndia Thanks for the reply.
I have heard they have reengineered the lower control arms also in the 3 door and 5 door. I hope those can be retrofitted to the 2021 and 2022 models also, as its what we owners most brought attention to in our feedback. The 18 inch wheels the new models will come with aren't missed as the extra sidewall we get with 245 75 R16 tyres (upgraded from stock 245 70 R16) gives a much plusher ride.
Do they have 4x4 version?
17:17 how many people could spot the Gurkha 5 door. This time frame is not the 1st time in the video but this time frame it's the best visible i guess
This looks too much upmarket than any other vehicles from Force. Well done force.
How to get this for personal use, i need to modify this for caravan
Can this Van be bought as a personal vehicle with white number plate and no speed limit?
Bro, can we expect an Automatic gear box in Urbania by the near future?
why does the shorter wheel base attract more tax?
How many air bags Sir
What could be the reason for companies like Toyota,Hyundai not launching their vans in India? Like we see in abundance in South East Asian countries like Thailand and Vietnam?
With our duty structures those vans will be too expensive for India and tour operators whom these vehicles will be targeted at will not find it a viable option
If this came with a TC auto box I’d buy this in a heartbeat.
Nice review, I've seen other car reviews not showing the face of the guy reviewing it , it cuts out on some understanding without knowing the facial expressions ....
any body noticed the 5 door gurkha in the back at time(13.50)?
You haven't shown the place to refill fuel in the Urbania. But good product from Force motors.
This will open up a Toyota Commuter like segment in the country. It's a brilliant move by Force Motors.
A good step a bit like the Hi Ace
13:47 Five-Door Gurkha as a test mule!!
11:09 force gurkha 5 door 😁
where is luggage space?
When is the 5 door Gurkha coming evo India??
Do I see a 5 star Gurkha under the wraps in the background at 16:47
Only need of best marketing of the van and it will be successfull ❤️❤️
It.does look like a fiat rear with force front end. 4 best looking vans are. - Ford transit, this force urbania, Nissan caravan, Daihatsu van
Good one...
i'm eager to see ..Moto-home /Camper van from Force ?
I love to see every 4wheels 2wheels
Automatic transmission would have been nice
Its in the works.
Can it be registered as a personal vehicle. Have a private number plate.
Above 8 seater cars have to be taken to the RTO every year for checking.
Shouldn't private cars with capacity of 8 plus seats be exempted
Do you have a joint family or something? I can't imagine a family sitting in a van and going for an outing😅
How much?
I still remember your review on force one suv. Unfortunately force one didn't make it.
Scania and Volvo multi axel busses reviews plz
Maybe if we can get a chance.
Automatic transmission would be a game changer
If I'm not wrong there aren't any Small van in India small i mean like Omni... Ecco bhi discontinue ho gayi shayad
Amazon delevery van design stunning force congrats
This can be used as a lifestyle vehicle
Is this RWD?
I drove this Van last month. Same feedback. The gearshift is bad. The rest is brilliant considering the class of vehicle.
Five door gurkha looks gooood.
Sirish❤️
🙏
well degined car
Enjoyedddd
