      @@TheOutdoorsman I’ve made lots of upgrades. Just don’t have a proper motovlog set up atm. But you can check my YT shorts to see some of the upgrades.

    Congrats!!!
    6’4”!!!! Holy cow, that’s like a roller blade under you 😂 ( 5’7” 150lbs)
    Iv had several bikes and wheelers over the years. Got me a 2024 0miles for my last birthday. Was at a dealership on a highway during rush hour😂. Wasn’t sure what the power was going to be like but gave it a try. Was not disappointed!!
    I had to turn left out of the dealership across 4 lanes (5 if you include the suicide lane).
    Got about 1/8 mile down the road and hit full stop traffic (a Harley had recked in the center lane 😢)
    I hopped the curb and hit the field and ran past almost a mile of dead stop traffic!!
    Was soooo excited that I got to do grom things before I even put on the first mile 😂
    Enjoy the bike, Iv already had more smiles per miles on mine then I used to in my rockets.
    As for anybody wondering if it’s a good learner bike… Yes! Because it almost lacks the power to get you in a bind and teaches you to use a clutch if you haven’t already. If you do lay it down, plastics are stupid cheap and parts are everywhere. Just make sure you learn in a safe place.

      Glad you enjoy yours. I’ve been enjoying the last several months of ownership. My biggest thing about it not being a good beginner bike is it’s almost too slow. Cars just wiz by you and don’t pay attention. Even on a 300 or 400 you got at least some power to get out of situations. But in other areas where cars don’t drive dangerous near sonic speeds, then it’s a great commute bike and as a learning tool
      It’s a great learning bike.

      Same size lol this is about the only thing I can think of where being a smaller guy is a total advantage. Yaaay us!

    Is that a good first bike ?

    • @bigsoup6240
      @bigsoup6240  6 місяців тому

      I would say yes because it’s easy to ride. But depending on where you live it may not be a good commute bike. They’re so small and slow and at least where I live people drive way faster than the bike can cruise at. So if you’re looking to commute on a bike might be better off on an R3 or Ninja 400.
      But as a learning tool for riding or wheelies, or just as a toy they’re awesome.

      I understand everybody is going to tell you that because it's so unintimidating and low power that it is a good beginner bike. I don't think it is, beginners don't know how to understand when people can't see them and jump in front of them. This bike is very small and you need to be very aware rider. This has the opposite problem of most bikes, usually newbies will get in trouble going too fast. This bike lacks power to escape a situation and it has terrible breaks. They build these two price point. Be careful

      I would say no get a SV 650 or a similar naked bike or even a 650 cruiser style bike. While the grom is a good and fun bike it should defiantly be a second bike your gonna wish you had more CC's that you can acutely take on a decent trip on the highway/interstate. I love my grom but I'm glad it wasn't my first bike if it was I might have not gotten into it as much as I have.
