I crossed the Oresund bridge on a bus during the day time, from Malmo to Copenhagen. It was a memorable experience and the view was breathtaking. I did my Scandinavia tour 4 years ago in summer, started in Oslo ended in Copenhagen. You just reminded me one of my best trips I ever had around Europe. Subscription added:)
Oh that must have been amazing! We were planning on returning back to Denmark with a bus to take in the views, but it was too early in the morning and everything would be dark. Scandinavia is such a fascinating 😍 region. Thank you for the subscription 😊
The vrispy cinnamon roll your are eating is Calles a Snegl (snail) in danish. It is made of a special dough containing lotte of butter. The dough is folded at least 27 times and when baked the crispy layers are created in the oven. It is only when using this kind of dough that you get Danish Pastry. Awesome drone footage. What kind of drone are you using?
Ah yes! I noticed all the layers in a cardamon roll we had and I was wondering how they made it. Very cool, thank you for the information 😊 Thank you 😊 it’s the DJI Mini 2, definitely recommend it if you’re interested in a drone
In Kastellet you’re almost next to where the Queen and also the Crown Prince and his family live (their castle which are 4 almost identical grand houses is called Amalienborg). The royal family is not an every day part of the Danes’ lives, but they are part of the essence of Danish living. The Queen is a formality in our political system. She doesn’t read out the Prime Minister’s speech at the opening of our Parliament, but she is present in person. And new governments are formally approved by her. Otherwise the Royals undertake different causes like they do in other monastic countries. The Queen speaks to all Danes on New Years Eve in a direct transmission.
The Danish monarchy is quite culturally significant. The queen is a symbol of all of the Danish kingdom, and in many ways is one of the last things really tying Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Isles together, other than money. The Danish monarchy is perhaps not quite as "in your face" everywhere as the British one is in the UK. The monarchy is however a key part of quite a few traditions and seen as a solid pillar at the heart of the country. I think the primary difference I note between the UK style and the Danish one would be that the UK seem to favor holding onto tradition for the sake of tradition. I think the Danish approach is to evaluate a bit more whether it is worth it just for that. Denmark is a country highly in favor of experimenting, reforming and compromising in search of optimal solutions, even the monarchy has undergone many changes to adapt it to modern Danish society, and continue to see more changes. I think the key strength of Denmark, and the true reason for the quality of life and existence in Denmark is a culture of innovation, consensus and compromise on every level, from the monarchy and parliament, through companies and work life down to how parents and adults interact with kids, everyone gets to have some sort of input and partake in the decision-making process. This style of social interaction is also shared with the other Scandinavian and Nordic nations to varying degrees, and I think is a primary part of why the entire Nordic region does so well. I think it even ties into why Denmark is known for design, there is a focus from the ground up on considering implementation and alternatives which leads to a constant search for new ideas and expressions. Danish cultural identity, history and the monarchy are cohesive forces in a country otherwise constantly trying to reinvent itself.
I just didn't understand what they meant in the video about the monarchy not being so integreted into Danish socielty, like in the UK or something... There are differences of course, but Scandinavian royals feel more integreted & in touch with our societies than the british... If it looks different for an outsider, than from within, I don't know. 🤔
Well atm everything is overpriced no matter what country you are in. The price to produce foodproducts and maintain a shop has exploded with the increase in price of heating and electricity. Dont think i have to explain who is responsible for that. Look to the east is all i can say 🤐Dont want it to get political sooo. But that aside, you make great videos i see. Keep up the good work 👍
Yes completely agree! We are in Greece for a lot of the year and the prices here have gone up significantly. Grocery store prices are not too far behind Denmark but income in Greece is significantly less than most of Europe. It’s insane.. Thank you for your kind words 😁 much appreciated
Geographically speaking Scandinavia consists only from Norway and Sweden. Linguistically also Denmark, Finland (Sweidish minority), the Faroes and Iceland add. Did you actually visit the Little Mermaid? I almost missed it and only found it due to the many tourists there. The Nordic Countries are definitely worth a visit, although they are very expensive. There is a huge difference between the Nordic monarchies (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) and the rest of the monarchies in Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Spain and UK). The Nordic monarchies are much closer to the people and much more ppoular. I'm not a huge fan of monarchies, but if I had to choose, I definitely prefer the Nordic ones. I used to take a hovercraft from Copenhagen to Malmö. This was before the Öresund bridge was built.
Hey, the swedes won't give us back Skåne. It's not our fault geographically speaking... Here's a map of why we are still contextually a Scandinavian country. (orange is not ours any longer) : upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cb/DanmarkSydslesvigSkaaneland.png

I'm not exactly sure of the exact price of a tall toffee nut latte but I think it's around $5.5 here in Washington.
you guys literally picked the same hotels that i chose to stay in copenhagen and malmo
Haha great minds think alike 😝❤️
The glass/modern part of Malmö C is just an addition/add-on to the old original station. Which Im sure you figured out in the daylight.
Haha yes exactly what happened 😅 The next morning we went to take the train and we saw the older building next to it
Nice video! ☺
