- Just completed my initial service on my 2020 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. Once I completed the oil change and other service its time to reset the computer screen. Here's how easy it is.
Very helpful, thank you! Just changed my oil and couldn’t figure out how to reset. I had the service warning on since the last oil change, and now it’s all good!

Awesome...thanks mate....done in less than 1min! Local KTM dealership told me it MUST be connected to a diagnostic tool to remove the reminder...typical!

Do you know why will the Race on yellow light be on even with the motorcycle off?
Thank you sir! Stealership wanted $150 to "check" the service and possibly up to $350 if they had to do a full diagnostic test. The kicker is they set the mileage and month interval at 12mo when they did the 600 mile service. I bumped it back up and presto problem solved.

Yes. Nothing on mine changed.
Why didn't you choose a beemer, or a super tenere or a Duc multi Strada?
Number one reason. Dealer support. Jt motorsports is amazing and that expertise, knowledge and bouncing ideas/questions and future parts are the main reason. Second. I bleed orange and believe the KTM bike suites me best.

hello, i have a problem with my ktm 1290 SAR, in the panel there is an indication "general failure", how do you delete this error?
Ususally its something that clears after the key cycles. I have had this pop up before but can hit the back arrow and it goes away. Is this consistently on your dash? Any changes with your seat or other modifications?
I'm working with a 2020 790 Adv r using 1v29 software and don't have a "preferences" option - just settings. Any ideas? I do my own oil/filters and don't want to have to rely on the dealer. Thanks for any ideas.....anyone!
Reached out to @dad mode who has a 790r and he said the following.
As far as service reset: The secret is to navigate to highlight the “Settings” menu (Highlight “Settings” in the menu, don't enter into settings), and then hold up and down together for 5 seconds. This pops out a page where you can change the data to the next service. Each press on set will increase the mileage.
Why is this under preferences instead of service... I forget every time and end up having to look it up😅

This is not "resetting" the service indicator light. You're extending the service indicator interval. Change your video title, it's misleading.
