Love all these tips! I have another idea for adding straps to a wristlet without it having "ears"- grommets. Installing grommets on either side of the bag that are large enough for the swivel hooks on the strap to clip to work well and keep it so the strap is interchangeable
I watch a video of yours or Jess oklaroots to perk up my sew Jo. Mostly from a few years ago when everybody was carefree and super happy on you tube. Happy belated Mother’s Day.
Excited to hear these great Q & A Tips! You choose good ones to present as more than a few have been a question for me at one time or another. Anyhoo… Thank you and so glad to see how you have grown since the start of the fb group…💃🏾💪🏾🌻🌹🎉
I just got to listen to your Q & A. My question is, why do some designers use a 3/8” on zippers? I personally like a 1/4” so more of the gorgeous zipper tape shows! Also when changing the 3/8 to a 1/4 sometimes I’m not sure where to trim the extra fabric off? But doesn’t always happen. Thank you! Sandy
Excellent question!! I think it has to do with machine capabilities and the measurements of the pieces but I think if you’re knowledgeable enough you can make that call in a pattern
My process for sewjo revival is taking a break to do a totally different craft , creating just to create our learning something new. Then when I think I'm ready, I try a new pattern or a tried and true simple one that can get done in one day
My question is about making binding from your water resistant canvas or cotton. Does the fabrics get cut on the bias the same as cotton woven? Do the edges of the bias need to be treated so so the do not get rough or folded like regular bias tape? Olay twonquestions😊
You do not need to cut it on the bias! WRC will fray and honestly after time WPC starts to fray as well. If you want you can burn the edges with a lighter!
Enjoyed video. I have a question after watching and sewing yesterday. While adding the gusset to front or back of bag any suggestions when the gusset is just too big maybe 1/4 to 1/2” and you are past the stage to but without taking apart. What can be done?
I would love to see a video on your product photography set up for handbag listings!

Not a bagmaking question or a comment. But you are simply stunning. You are a natural beauty. Then you are so talented as a bagmaker.

Great video. You have such a nice way of explaining things. I agree that finding fun or interesting fabrics to work with is great for the sewjo.

Great tips, thanks
I like the way the connectors in the Tracy Wristlet are, flush against the back.
Ohhh good to know!
So helpful. Thank you.

Hi Lauren would you consider having a class on how to use a chain stitch machine?
If you come to a sew whatever studio class if there’s free time I’m happy to show ya!!

I would recommend always clipping before sewing to check that. It could be there was a seam allowance issue that would need to be fixed.
You didn’t answer how y’all are all babes tho 😭
