  • One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists, Lori McKenna. She is undeniably one of the most remarkable songwriters I have come across. Historically, I never considered myself a fan of country music, with only a few exceptions like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Emmylou Harris (which I grew up on). However, in recent years, as I've dedicated myself to perfecting the art of storytelling through my music, I've come to recognize, appreciate, and quickly fall in love with the work of truly exceptional songwriters, regardless of their musical style.
This particular tune hails from her 2011 album, "Lorraine."
Iron & Wine also covered this song on an EP called "Lori". I was so happy that Sam did it, but Lori's version gives me goose bumps... actually, I must admit that she has a ton of songs that make my arm hairs stand up and just as many songs that make me cry.

Hmm. I don't hear a whistling noise. Is it throughout the song or in one spot?

There is a bit of clipping distortion on the vocals track because I had the gain too high when recording, so I couldn't fix it afterwards.

@@aarongibsonmusic Maybe whistling isn't the best description. But it is high pitched and throughout the whole recording. I checked it with a spectrometer app on my phone and it shows a noise at 5 kHz. Maybe one of the technical devices in your recording room?
You can hear it isolated right at the start and the end of the recording, when you turn the volume up.
      Sorry to annoy you.

This is weird, I can hear it on my phone speaker, but not on my studio monitors. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to be a bit better with my mixing in future. Tanks for listening @@christianreichelt824
