There's no fee for parking at Kailua Beach Park. To get to Lanikai (lah-knee-ky) the pathways are not "through homes" but in between properties. It's a law in Hawai'i to ensure access to the beaches. One cannot restrict access to beaches for any reason. Beaches are made public no matter if they are directly behind a home.

Great video, but having lived in on Oahu for a couple of years as a teenager, I feel compelled to correct you on your pronunciation of "Lanikai". It's pronounced "Lah-nee-kye", not "Lan-kye". Hope you take this in the spirit it was given.
