Hey Wrenchie, like the good explanation in you video. One question remains unanswered: the cables you connected the charger to, what is the origin purpose of those? I saw in some other comment they´re for heated grips? If yes, I guess this is no problem? Best regards from Germany
Thank you wrenchie, really helpful: I really liked the silicone idea and cleaning and tying with zip tag - small points that make a difference. I came across this video looking to find out which cable on the Kawasaki side is + and which is - , none of the other videos I watched were clear. I think I was able to glean from this that, on the bike side, the black cable with the white stripe and female socket is the + and the other (I can't figure out the colour) with the male socket, is the -. I'd love it if someone could confirm this is always the case. I hope it is otherwise I'm about to blow up my bike.
On a side note: I'm not sure I'd recommend connecting your new $1000 i-phone then turning the key on a first run. Maybe a $5 electric fan? We can't all be as confident with our wiring skills as Wrenchie. ;-)
Hi wrenchie your video I really nice ! I have the z1000sx 2015 you think also in my motorbike the wire is ready like yours and I just need to instal the usb ? I didn’t try to take out the plastics yet .
Hi Mike. It is very possible it’s supported on your bike. You really need to remove the left side fairing and take a look. You might be able to look down into the fairing without removing it to see. I have a fairing removal video if you need to check that first. Assuming you do have it, you might want to check wiring diagram and / or put a volt meter on the wires to verify the output is correct for usb. I recall it’s 12v 2 amp required.
I recently got 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and this vid help me a lot Thanks man
Love your Videos Wrenchie. Great for us Z1000SX owners. 👍
