Extraordinary session, full of swing. Perfect sound, perfect balance. Musicians relaxed, having fun and all of them incredible. A ten for George Masso, whom I did not know; and to highlight the machine of this orchestra, Milt Hinton, who gives a real lesson of what jazz is. I'm still dancing! Thanks a thousand for posting it.
Woweeee!!! The very first thing that I noticed was the clarity and beautifully balanced sound here. These are master performers each contributing some unique musical oil painting to this show! This is an all star cast. The humor and musical charm of Clark and Milt really sparkles through to the audience, doesn't it? This is just one example of why they are so loved to this day; not just as musicians, but as fine gentlemen. They're all wonderful, and are anchored by one of my favorite swinging drummers, Gus Johnson. ***Bravissimo!!!
Outstanding everything: playing, sound quality, swing, compatability and brilliance of musicians! Clark Terry a revelation to me in this kind of setting.
Fabulous musicians, every single one of them! Wonderful playing and exquisite taste from each guy! As a bassist myself, I think Milt "The Judge" Hinton (known as the "Dean of all Jazz Bass Players") is by far my favorite upright player of all time! His time, his tone, his feel, everything about his approach and gift as a bass player is just so amazing! This stuff is the golden and pure and if you had to look up the definition of the epitome of classic jazz from that time, this is such a great example!
Dear Herr Schmitt, I confess I assumed a more erudite audience than is perhaps plausible. So I added everyone's name in full. However, as a test case, I went to Google and typed in "Moss" and "tenor saxophone," and in seconds there were biographies and obituaries for the esteemed player. So perhaps one might do a little homework rather than commenting in this manner?
@@swingyoucats I looked to find the tenorsaxophone player in Google, but couldn`t find him there. That´s the reason why I asked swingyoucats. I´m not lazy and look a lot in Google. I´m sorry I made the impression on you, that I make nothing. Beside of this I live in Germany and don´t know each musician in Great Britain. One person told me that the good tenorsaxophone player, whom I appreciate very much, is Danny Moss. Thank You for telling me his name.

Hinton! Spot on.
He is the basis of everything, without a doubt.
Had the privilege to attend this great gig, together with my dad, as I grew in Berne during that time. Unforgetable memories!
Wow. Lucky you! I bet it was a great night.

I looked at wikpedia to find the name of the Tenor player, but could'nt find him. That's the reason why I asked. Thank you for the name.
