editing the Reaper video to include the maps that I forgot.
And sorry for a drop in audio quality. I made the mistake of upgrading my computer to Windows 11 ... which has completely stopped my typical audio recorder from working correctly. So I need to use a different one until I can find out why it's gone wrong.
Also--I have put a rejected video on Patreon. For free, no need to join to see it. It's a pretty good one, a javelin strike on a T-72.
old saying:
"To err is human, to really fowl things up requires a computer"
MS is why it has gone wrong
Hope it works out ❤
WINDOWS, NOOOOOOOOOO
It's Linux or nothing. I run Kali, Bionic Pup, and Debian with Raspberry Pi Desktop.
MS dumped me in the do-do about 12 years ago. I recovered my data, installed the current version of Ubuntu and was up and running again in 8 hours, including having prepped my work for the following day. I have not used MS to do anything ever since. For all the things I needed to do FOSS software rocks.
Two things are of note here: The operators are 40m distant from the drone by ground, or at least that is what's indicated in the software, and the audio for these is recorded from a mic on the operator's device meaning we hear what they hear from wherever they are nearby, and frankly that sounded pretty terrifying
Thanks, I was wondering why we didn't hear rotors.
I think the drone operator is in the small town, by the sound of when they flew over & fired
@@jhonbus I Was wondering hearing birds
DJI drones don't have onboard microphones except for the DJI FPV drone afaik
cheers, thanks for the info. That's interesting to know. Must be scary having these darting near you, not knowing if you are the target.

@@Lipi19821 Without all the tricks to make them fly as far as posible 100m off the target is considered 10/10 during training as typicaly its normal that this rockets are ending half km from the target.

Spoting anyone behind tree line from this distance and when moving with this speed? heh its just silly idea...
@@Bialy_1 Yes, its very inefficient way to bombard enemy territory, but i think its probably only thing these russian/soviet airplanes can do. Their targeting systems and optics are simply too bad for accurate fire.

This is impressive. It looks like they were targeting the tree line and they definitely scored some good hits. The second Su25 seemed to have climbed a little too high IMO though exposing himself to MANPADS. And the sound is fucking terrifying tbh. Excellent footage
Air strikes in territory they occupy... this far in they know better than to cross the front lines, less they end up like that SU-24 in Bakhmut the day before.
Those Su-25s should be pretty easy to knock down. Keep it up.

Thanks for researching this footage.
Thanks for the video
"Ivan, our attack hits the taget, great success !"
"what was the target?"
"ground"
you seem a bit confused.
🕊
The strike does seem fairly accurate, assuming that's the intended target. On the other hand, when you lob a bunch of rockets in a general direction, they're generally going to hit the first vertical target in their trajectory, so maybe not that impressive? In a way, it's sorta literally hitting the "broad side of a barn".
Also helps when your entire flight path is over nominally-friendly territory, so you don't really have to worry too much about anything but aiming.
Clearly they were worried about more than aiming. As soon as the rockets were released they went into a tight turn and launched flares.
@@1djbecker and what were they supposed to do? Climb to 5k feet so they can eat all the MANPADS in the area? Read about the aiming system the Russians are using with these attacks and you'll be surprised. This was a pretty damn accurate attack actually but you both are too blinded to admit it. And before you call me a Russian troll - I hope they both got shot down on the way back to base.
@@1djbecker thats general procedure? You would still go straight forward I assume. Also you do realize that this tree line was spotted before they called airstrikes and artillery right?
@@urdnotwrex6969 Yes, that now appears to the standard procedure, and it's a good tactic for the conditions.
It differs from other doctrines where the procedure is to have munitions for multiple passes, observing if the initial strike accomplished the objective.
My point is that the battlefield conditions forced this change in tactics. Russians don't have air dominance or air superiority. They can't safely use high or medium altitude approaches. Low altitude is the only reasonably safe approach to the front line, and there is generally only a single pass. That's not close air support, it's air delivered munitions.
@@1djbecker ...lol...obviously
Fun fact: In the past month, the entire month, Russia gained 0.04% of Ukraine territory. At the cost of thousands of russians lives and hundreds of tanks. Well done UA !

I know for the helicopter it's an automated system. The missle pod is preprogrammed. Once armed it launches automatically when it detects the proper angle relative to the horizon. Still a challenging manu er for sure, but it's not like they're just checking them and hoping for the best.
Pity there was no Gepard nearby

A Gepard FLAK-Panzer would shread those orcs planes into bits & pieces within some seconds. They don't care for flare. 😉
Take that! You’re such a field!
Thank you good Sir
there’s no precision control in these strikes, no matter how many times they practice the maneuver. it’s called “spray and pray” for a reason
Pray
High accuracy, low precision.
Rockets land where you aim, but the hits are scattered around.
Back in the day, one of Lockheed's Skonk Works engineers commented "That's why they call them 'missiles' rather than 'hittles'." Modern guidance systems have changed all that of course.
My catholic cat does the same.
Even its not 100% precise jets adds psychological to both sides ...my brother was in Kosovo war for 9 months..off course on Serbia side..so against him was KLA and whole NATO aviation..so even none from his unit died from NATO plane attacks its still has psychological effect because you are never 100% sure you want be hit
Damage done: 0. Unguided rockets are an absolute waste of resources, which was a true statement in the '60's as well....
Amazing footage! The jets look so low compared to the DJI drone

i think there’s also a way to set up a target and fly the profile and the rockets will automatically fire when the correct orientation/speed is achieved

they airacraft might've hit it too by now, they are being shot every day lol.. And it will only get better with Patriot batteries.
@@user-zv4jf8ag8p The orc is you. You just don't realize it because of your lack of education. Just like you don't realize that on a stable front line, the opponents don't stand face to face along the drawn line. There is a "gray zone" between the opponents' positions. In an open area, such a zone can be several kilometers.
Did you know that almost all the hits are the ground? Or you think COD is more accurate than a real life?
American Stinger missiles are unaffected by decoy flares, the Stinger's guidance system does not use IR signatures, instead it uses UV signatures, those aren't found in decoy flares. **EDIT** 40 years ago Stinger missiles used IR guidance, IR flares distracted Stinger missiles, that hasn't been the case since around 1990 or so. The Stinger engineers learned from the Afghanistan experience.
the reaction time is very short. stinger is to short range and low on ground. its very improbable to get shot down by a stinger in such a manouver.
@@certaindeath7776 They work great against helicopters, but for fixed wing planes a lot of things have to be "just right"
@@certaindeath7776 actually that’s exactly what stingers are best at. The only way to avoid a lock is to fly very low and very fast.
@@chrissmith7669 you just supported my statement
@@mattfleming86 yes
Nah, i think they just fired at possible deserters as they don't have enough manpower anymore for a 2nd and 3rd defensive line to kill retreating soldiers :P
Sounds more like a ukrainian move to do after watching some of their deserters getting punished after running away
There are videos of a fail counter-offensive in Zapo region and i think this is one of the videos.. Do you have Russian derangement syndrome or something?
So what many dont know.
The way this lobbing works is this:
They DON'T use the ballistic computer while doing this. There are tables for each aircraft that is able to perform such an attack, which indicate the speed, altitude and pitch on release that need to be flown and then what the distance of these rockets is when these criterias are met. They are multiple of those in this table. So now they find a target and look how high they want to be and how far it is and then they look at this table. When they have found out what the coordinates are for the point (basically in the radius of the range) they need to be pitching up at, they enter them into the aircraft and all thats left is to fly all this. And if executed well it is often VERY accurate. This counts for all aircraft, like all the helicopters we've seen doing this and the 25s.
Great shooting, guys. You really showed that... treed area what's what. Yup.
Need more MANPADs
Wear and tear for little apparent gain.
That was quite a cool video. When do you ever see fighter jets in low-level flight and filmed from above!
several times in this war
@@cmtwgrdk2748 I don't think so. This is quite a unique camera position for recording two attack aircraft conducting a fire mission. In fact I don't recall a single video of a flying attack aircraft that has been filmed from a drone, let alone videos from a drone that feature sound.
I've watched more than 1000 hours of footage since Feb. 24, 2022 and maybe it's just my memory, but this looks certainly new to me!
@@SimSimon87 maybe it was on this Chanel, before youtube deleted them,, one is of two rus airplanes dropping parachute delayed bombs,, into a kind of forrest, and one of two ukr planes doing the same,,both filmed from above from a drone
@@cmtwgrdk2748 Yes, I remember that one. It was in the early days of the war, wasn't it? Still rather the exeption, since jets are difficult to capture by drone, unless you film your own air strikes and you know the jets are inbound... I like that this video here has decent audio, though. Do all drones have microphones?! Seems odd to me for a surveillance drone...
@@SimSimon87 ONE ?? there was two one of ukr planes , and one of ruzzian planes,,they all did the same
I believe those are just anti-aircraft defense flares they released into the fields as a diversion.
yeah here's hoping if we get more of these that they come with the rogering from a ManPad at the end
Maybe they were goosing their own troops because they refuse to go on the offensive and attack Ukraine positions
Sounds like an ukrainian move to do
Incredible
damn. good shot. given the limitations.
That is so odd how you can hear the jets and the rockets but not the drone propellers. I love it! I wonder if all new drones have this noise cancellation or just the upper end $10K Dji drones??
Ground microphone. But the larger model DJI drones are very quiet, especially at that altitude you wouldn't be able to hear them unless they were moving full speed
AI can remove drone noise also. Not saying that's what they did here though.
The sound doesn't come from the drone. It's recorded from the ground.
It was prob an observation tower
Who will pay for these crimes?
Looks like a friendly fire incident in the making!
That's a long way to fly just to blow up some random trees.
It could have been a 'blue on blue' incident!
This is the same area where you showed the BUK being destroyed four days ago. Perhaps the UKA spotter team that fingered the BUK was in the tree line. I'm still wondering why the BUK was in the area and so close to the front line. Also, why the sudden drama in one of the quietest sectors of the front? If any info on the area comes your way, please post.
This video has cleared the myth which I have been believing that angled rocket dumping is inaccurate. You learn something new everyday.
Whats the difference, they usually a guided, so the angle just gives them more distance from lower altitude, if unguided it is still possible to calculate the shooting piont and angle.
@@thf1933 I play too much video games I thought those dump fire unguided rockets are inaccurate af
It is said practice makes perfect... it was not however said by a russian.

rusians are f*****g blind😂
Wow, those were two sonic booms as those jets approached. Not sure if it was from the rockets released, or the actual jets, but those jets were absolutely hauling ass just meters off the deck.

They might have been over 500 kph, but not supersonic.

"Spray and Pray" is the Russian version of "Precision Guided Munitions".
If you look the rockets hit all along a tree line. A likely place for something to be hiding.
also interesting that the hud said "njet GPS" = no gps. you can see that it's connected to zero satelites.
I want to see them try that when more patriots arrive.
Where did your fuel drop video go? it was cool.
I am editing it to include the maps
I think Denys Davydov mentioned a Ukrainian tank had gone through Russian lines in that area this morning
wow, interesting. I didn't know that.
MANPADS sure do have those Ruzzian pilots scared, those rockets were basically wasted... well that's OK.
DEFINITELY a gps jammed environment too. 0 sats locked is straight up impossible at that altitude
I'm assuming they're shooting S8 or S5 rockets. Don't they have an arming distance that is either set or only ground adjustable? Either way, the flight time was so short that I can't even tell if they detonated on impact. Plus I don't hear an explosion from the perspective of the operator if they were perhaps delayed fuses. Just the rocket firing.
That was cool af
How was this filmed ?
👍
Those SU-25 rocket attacks - 60 percent of the time, it works every time.
So, the target was Russian held ground. Good targeting.
Appears as though Airspeed was north of 350 knots hard to hit something at that airspeed, nervous in the service.
Pretty sure the drone couldn't hear the birds chirping.....
the audio is recorded from the ground.
The sound of the jets has to be overlaid, because from a drone, all you hear is the whirring of the drone blades, so they usually turn the sound off to save memory. Thats what I did with my drone.
noise cancelation,, it can take out the propeller noise,,
the rockets are good against soft targets like troops, light armour etc, they use these to strike areas like tree lines.
they do well, looked accurate i thought
It was extremely accurate, hit exactly the intended target of Russians that would not fight
Those missiles have a very high probability hitting earth, but not much else.
well, if their target was an empty field, then job well done. that was some excellent shooting.
It's hardly precision stuff is it, seems like they hope to hit something by luck rather than accurate targeting
Nope, they targeting fixed positions like trenches or known enemy positions in the treelines
@@meisterproper8304If they are targeting fixed positions it's still a very inaccurate way of trying to hit them. Just lobbing the rockets in the general direction
@@UserUser-ww2nj they aren't lobbing in a general direction, but clearly targeting a treeline
@@meisterproper8304 They might be targeting the treeline but it's in no way accurate and has a very limited chance of hitting the intended target so it is just lobbing and hoping to hit the target
Why was the reproduced footage taken down? UA-cam again?
Reaper? I am editing it to include maps
@Suchomimus Reaper, yes. I have fat fingers, lol. Thanks for not calling the Reaper collision a "intercept" as others have.
A manpad rogering would have been an excellent finish
How did they get audio? My drones are loud!
Operator recording on the ground apparently
Unguided rockets, particularly the S-13, and S-25 are surprisingly accurate for these kind of strikes.
Seems like a pretty minor impact for such a major risk.
I'm not sure we are seeing what is described here at all. Whey would rockets make incredibly loud bangs sounding like explosions when they launch? To me, this looked more like a bombing run, and the smoke going off in the distant tree line could have been unrelated. Who knows.
Doubt it’s effective, except perhaps in leveling some random barn.

DID THEY HIT ANYTHING ? 🚫 🎯
Are they aiming at anything other than the ground?
That wood was an obvious probe point for the AFU - perpendicular to the front line, giving cover to a team trying to get into Russian-held territory. However, it would be a small team, and hardly worth calling in FGA: especially if they are going to lob the rockets in from 5km out. That said, the strike was pretty accurate: probably causing the Ukrainian patrol to 'pucker up', but unlikely to cause injuries. That they had a drone there to capture the video suggests that it was more of a performative strike: something that Solovyev could chortle about on his 'Infowars' show.
