- After living with the Cupra Formentor for a week, I really got to grips with the things I loved and the things I didn't love so much...but which one came out on top???

I have a Formentor 310ps in Graphene Grey too. What a car! Perhaps the most versatile car I've ever owned. Does everything; fast, 4x4, comfortable, fits 5 nicely, has the new mod cons and useful stuff (wireless Apple Car play, adaptive suspension, interior LED and coast to coast back strip lighting, Beats Audio, electric sunroof, nice loud exhaust). SUPERB!
Pricepoint?
The things I find annoying about my Formentor: 1) If you disable the Drive Assist stuff (e.g. Lane Assist etc) it 'forgets' when you turn it off so you have to do it every journey, 2) No low fluid level warning for the screen wash, 3) No backlight on the slider controls under the infotainment screen, 4) Having to do EVERYTHING via the infotainment screen (e.g. no physical buttons for climate etc), 5) I can't think of a fifth thing. Everything else is great.
Every car will have it's annoying quirks, but the good 100% outweighs the bad for the Formentor!!

Except for the assistance, because it's the law and they cannot do it another way. But it's still annoying... back light under infotainment is so strange and so annoying too, I don't understand why they didn't put one
@@bugsterkaferrr Especially when a) the power button on the same panel as the temp and volume controls in the front is backlit and b) almost identical controls in the back for the rear temperature settings are also backlit. It's a bizarre omission.
No.5... The weedy sounding horn. Needs an upgrade.
Voice control sorts out some of the infotainment issues.

I’m here as an American after hearing that Cupra is considering entering the North American market. I’m excited for this company to come stateside if they bring ICE cars.
i think its a nice suv but I have a question about the engine 2.0 tsi they have an oil reduction problem for years, some vehicles have had an oil reduction problem after certain kilometers and some vehicles have it even if they are brand new model. if this is the same engine, I wonder if this problem continues in this vehicle. That's my only concern, because the brand booklet has such ingredients for fat /oil reduction that you can't justify it. If anyone knows or you answer, I will be very glad, thank you in advance🙏🏻

We've had these in Australia for almost a year now but still waiting for my VZE .
I have this car in magnetic grey, love it, while I agree with her 5 likes I think her 5 dislikes were made up just for the sake of a comparison, if you want style then expect some compromise on boot space, if you want a performance car then don't expect the economy of a diesel engine car.
Also she failed to mention the infotainment system that is good but also bad as it sometimes has a mind of it's own, owner's know what I mean, then there's the 'road tax', at over £500, ouch.
Took the vz3 for test this weekend. If there’s a way to turn off that artificial noise I’d put this into serious contender to replace my 335d
OBDEleven, soundaktor deactivation :) I haven't tried it on a Formentor, but it should work. I think a quick Google search would clear it up.
I think Cupra should have made the VZ5 in RHD format. That way, they would have brought it to the UK and probably Australia too.
The Formentor VZ5 is another car that is on my wishlist for cars I want in the UK; others being the Toyota GR Corolla, Hyundai Elantra N, etc.
The vz is enough for those countries! It's not Germany to drive them like they must be driven!

I like the Formentor 310PS / 228kW, but it would have been nice to have the VZ5 in the UK/Australia regardless.

Adaptive Cruise control doesn't work when the front sensor is in heavy rain ( or snow) etc.
I believe this will be due to sensor visibility

My drive mode is individual everything on Cupra except engine sound, I keep that on pure none of that fake sound
That's a great idea. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that out. I've set my individual config to engine=eco because none of the other modes use it so I figured it's a missing mode I should add...but I never switch to it because it's less fun
The one thing i hate is people who think it's fine to park their arse on a cars bonnet😊

I’ve done 6000 miles in mine. The bottom line is… style over substance. If you like fake plastic moulded exhaust pipes, it’s the car for you.

Like, tons of vehicles. Even a Honda Civic type R has more horsepower for half the price

@@nilsneimanis so then your talking point shouldn't be horsepower. There's several differences that make the price points completely different.
But, if you want to continue on this road, I own a 2022 Ram Bighorn that has 390 horsepower for around 50k
@proud508 yes I should've said it better but 310hp and 4.9 (in the papers, I have seen videos with 4.7something) for starting price at around 40k is cheap for a new car if you ask me

Hate... no ambilight on rear doors, no engine cover lifter, consuption too big for 310ps, climate control throw infotainent✌️
Tenho um Cupra formentor 1.5 tsi. Novo
O carro tem um barulho na caixa de velocidades que é bastante desconfortável.
Parece algo solto , um tilintar.
Fui á Cupra e disseram que era mesmo assim, que era da caixa que foi montada nesta gama..

You can actually turn off that fake engine noise even in cupra mode, just use the individual settings mode and wack everything in cupra mode apart from engine note, also for a stock gpf exhaust system the pops and bangs in this thing when you down shift are loud af..... Also the lack of engine cover on 2022+ is a disgrace. Shame on vag for that nonsense.
I also don't like the gear ratios in this, i get that it will be different than something like a leon 290, but third gear just doesn't last long enough for me, it should last go until at least 95-105mph
