I personally had only heard whispers of this tragedy until now and I thank you for making sure this issue is heard by a wider audience. I think we should hold a moment of silence for the mime community. It is evident that this problem should be debated loudly and not leave these endangered people feeling boxed in in a time when every voice is important. However i have no doubt that my concerns will fall on deaf ears.....

As tightrope walker and aerialist numbers have declined thru overharvesting, their ecological niche has be taken over by slackliners and vertical dance enthusiasts -- making natural recovery difficult. Sort of like hagfish and the Atlantic cod. If hagfish wore patchouli oil. Which ... they might?
Our best hope is to breed TRWs and trapezeists in captivity, feeding them with handpuppets (wearing tophats?) and accepting a certain number will not make it to adulthood. Then, when they have the skills required to compete in the wild, we release them onto the set of American Ninja Warrior.

1:18 The nods and the silence. That was pure comedic gold. :D :D :D

mime owners: this is claude st. pierre, we adopted him two years ago. he’s a third generation french mime with roots in the early carnie awakening. we only feed him hand toasted vegan peanuts and paleo candy floss
fool owners: this is hoops he likes jokes

Once again, great imagination, and subtle nuance of comedic timing right up there with the best. Living in Montana, far from the Parisian epicenter, we only hear third hand stories of mimes, but we appreciate them from large format coffee table books published in Toronto.

Literally the funniest part of this sketch is listening to two Canadiennes do a HARD American accent for the whole video! Pure gold, and thank you both for that!

Loved the eye for detail. That clicking noise news presenters make before stating something was spot on

I mean, EVERYTHING. The names, the little walk-n-talk, the audio delay, the microphone flag, the notepad, the clothing, the hair-n-make-up, the lower-thirds, the music, the backdrop, that depth of field fence shot, the writing, the acting. Holy shit, so good. I laughed and I’m in awe.

Lol! Mimes have a notoriously hard time breeding 🤣
    This whole video was great!

I didn't feel entertained or amused even one bit by this preposterous subject, but watching these two beautiful ladies is always a pleasure and it's hard not to appreciate their sheer effort.

I love your content, super creative. When you said "researchers have tried placing mimes into the same room as reproductive females, however it's virtually impossible to get them to show any interest" I wish you had said "however it's virtually impossible to get them talking."

We have been debating this issue a lot lately. Such timely coverage. There is so much about the biology of mimes we do not know.

Leanne really nailed the unearned intellectual bravado and sense of superiority that all the good reporters should have when reporting.

I loved the delay in response from one reporter to another and the nodding.
