One of the best things about the OPR community, the player base is a lot less toxic. Player just want to have fun with their models. The fact that the rules are cleaner, more balanced, and a LOT cheaper is just icing on the cake.
exactly
I am toxic in my own way ❤
Some great alternatives to the “big G” out there. Glad to see them get some exposure.
there is a lot
OPR is the best. I haven’t printed any of their models but they look awesome. I’m done with GW and the way they do miniatures with two part heads for Kroot, humans , ect. Why two part heads for a 28mm human or human like miniature? And the prices, yeah got enough pile of gray to hold me for awhile. Keep up the excellent work!
thank you.
really am loving opr. Getting more use out of my 40k minis too
Some good points and I do agree with then but I don't think this will be an over night thing. The fact GW isn't growing is probably down to them reaching the limits of capability of a model company and as you say people looking at the cost and saying no. I don't think there will be over night change, maybe a slow trickle the scene is too big and too many are deeply invested to simply drop it. It becomes a way of life for them and making that change is a big thing in their lives.
good points.
your thoughts?
I don't like gw very much. For a few reasons. But cost is the most. I'd rather just print and pirate. Gw is too nickle and dimey for me.
I mean, they're also assholes, and they don't seem to care about thier own thing, but my wallet is my primary concern.
i agree.
I have printed one page rules models. Currently printing their models. They are great, GW does NOT make the best models. Their are loads of 3d sculptors who blow GW way out of the water. I don't understand this sichophansy for GW. Prices suck, rules suck, company sucks. Other then the actual IP what do they have?
Well said.
i cannot 3d print (no time) i do have to go alternate routes. GW makes the best walkers. Best models overall not so much. If you actually got the point of the video, if more companies saw opr as bigger competition they would have to change everything.
It is the IP. The lore. Which they are going to sacrifice for woke bs
GW IS growing...but it's also getting rid of the worst toxic types and replacing them with a better customer base. That's going to seem like it's treading water but it's much better for long term growth.
I've been saying for YEARS that eventually GW is moving towards doing exactly what Star Trek Away Team and the Shadow run mini game and DND minis: cheap, monoposed "ready to play out of box" minis for a cheap price and a much higher "customizable multi part" boxes for people who see painting as "the hobby".
also: Stargrave is amazing for this cause 20 models for 35$ comes out to less than 2$ per mini which is INSANE. 20 models for under 40$ should be the gold frigging standard
GW thrives on the toxic fanbase. They pander to them. They feed them. Casual players have to constantly deal with out of date on day of purchase points and rules because GW throw all their attention at the competitive scene. That's where they make money, meta chasers, who are often the toxic fans that are the reason most of us dropped competitive play for casual or lower levels of play.
@@Noveltyuk I hard disagree. While some of the tournament people are in racists and sexist and gatekeeper-lite... By FAR the toxic people are NOT the ones you see in tournaments nor running batreps on UA-cam or flooding GW social media accounts with death threats.
Most of those types don't go to events, they only play "competitively" when trying to bully people at their local game stores.
Fuck those toxic types and I'm glad GW is pushing them out and replacing them with better customers.
Be interested to hear how GW are getting rid of a "toxic" fan base?
