more than underrated , its one of the best places to live in greece , 2 hours fotm athens , has everything , is relatively cheap , it has a 15 km beachline , you can go anywhere with bicycle , the quality of life is unmatched , a paradise ,. the mountain is 30minutes away , and of course kastraki clib with breathtaking view , oneof the best towns to stay permanently , no pollution , no trafic jams, NO CRIME , the best place for your kids to gow up , big hospital and eveyrhing from big stores loke praktiker ikea jusk pepco etc etc
Love this! Thank you. My parents are from Kalamata and I want to explore it more fully...also thinking of moving to Greece full time at some point. It's a beautiful city. :)
What you call "life" I call "crowds". I think Greece in winter would be ideal for me, then I would leave when tourists come flooding in. I wonder if there are opportunities for housesitting in holiday homes that sit empty in the off season in Kalamata?
There are. Lot of firms that offer that sort of service, I guess perhaps some of the larger villas would favour permanent residents, in the off season.
It should be ok, low 20's typically. You run the risk of a few showers, cloudy days but is good right now. A great time of year for exploring, plus all the sites are half price from November to March.
@@GreeceExplored thanks for the response. It's actually for an educational purpose. We are a research team from Germany and planning a 5-7 days field work in Kalamata. So rainy or cloudy days might cause some interruption.

Thanks a lot 🙏
It is worth going, at any time of year, but be prepared to walk!!
Are you live there ?
Not in Kalamata, my local town is Nafplio, but I visit Kalamata for shopping etc. frequently.@@sergiilukov8078

What about weather first week of November?
It should be ok, low 20's typically. You run the risk of a few showers, cloudy days but is good right now. A great time of year for exploring, plus all the sites are half price from November to March.
Surprised to see the lack of graffiti considering how ubiquitous it is in Greece but are the shopping options even better than Patras?
I think the shopping is a good as Patras, I prefer it because I find it easier to navigate, and as you say, they look after the place.
How is the weather there in mid November?
Variable, you take some risk, some days sunny and low 20's others cloudy and perhaps some rain, but great time to visit, cheaper hotels etc.

@@bhaskardahal6223 I hope you will have a good time!!
comparing to Germany, it's still summer in November, you can still go for a swim, winter usually comes 1-2 weeks before Christmas 😃
