The Iron Hands were never at the brink of destruction, maybe spiritually as their primarch was killed but not physically. The force of Iron Hands that was at the drop site massacre was limited to a force of Manus's Averni Clan and some other elements which made up about 1/3rd of the legion at the time. Taking into account Iron Hands numbers were clocking in at around +/- 100,000 strong (per the black books) at the time, that means youve still got somewhere around +/- 60,000 marines still combat ready. The Salamanders and the raven guard were at the brink and effectively out of the war, the iron hands were not.
Thing is the remaining 2/3 of the army were on Isstvan aswell I believe, just further behind, also a lot of their fleet escaping the massacre would have been hounded
I can't wait for ferrus Manus return one day⚙🦿🦾. With the legion of the damned 💥💀☠ . I would like to see angron meeting ferrus Manus during the great crusade.
Ah yes the Iron Hands, who's Primarch Iron Hands, had Iron Hands who his sons the Iron Hands would replace their hands with Iron Hands to emulate the Iron Hands of Iron Hands. . . . GW's naming conventions can be very unimaginative, but still my favorite Primarch, and Legion
Well to be fair when his Clan found him they took one look at him and said "yeah there's only really one name for you isn't there?" when they came up with his Clan name.
This is really cool. I’m glad they cut out the consul restriction from Head of the Gorgon, makes the list much more flexible. Plus getting to add in Castellax in the elites is really good. Depends on the Praevian rules whether i take them in that slot, but they’ve got all the goodness. Mauler bolt cannons to mince Astartes, Darkfire cannons to crack light vehicles. Combine that with some Graviton and infantry are going to struggle to make it into melee (where we suck) Idk where all our characters went though. I’d be happy if they added in some extra later ones later tho, maybe with a couple of character models? We only have a dead Primarch at the moment. I need Autek Mor, the +1 strength and toughness he has is stupid good, especially combined with -1 str from ranged attacks. Also need Casrman Orth, not decided whether he’s riding in the Spartan or a Sicaran Venator yet but they don’t have rukes :(
Gorgon Terminators may very well be the only surviving instance of Indomitus pattern Terminator armored models surviving the transition to Heresy 2.0 rules. Granted, Gorgon pattern armor had a series of upgrades from the base Indomitus (so many that it was hazardous for marine to wear the pattern without significant cybernetic enhancements themselves), but it lacks either the Sweeping Advance ability of Tartaros or the improved Invulnerable save of Cataphractii pattern armor.
Remember, when Fulgrim kills Ferrus is during the dropsite massacre Ferrus was using fireblade and Fulgrim was using Forgebreaker. ...oh god can you image how utterly broken gameplay wise Fulgrim would be swinging around Forgebreaker with his crazy initiate and colossal number of attacks...
WS7 I6 is why Ferrus lost to Fulgrim. It doesn't matter how hard you hit if none of your hits connect and the opponent subjects you to a death of a thousand cuts. I'm interested in playing these guys as a loyalist faction or traitors alongside my Emperor's Children to provide them with some anti-armour "oomph" but they seem to be one of the more Forge World dependent factions. I'm hoping that my hypothesis that all units that everyone gets access to will be coming out in plastic and Legion specific stuff will be done as resin upgrades via Forge World so say you want a Legion Glaive super heavy you buy a plastic base version and then you buy a resin Iron Hands upgrade kit to make it more unique comes to pass.
Played my first game of 2.0 today and Ferrus destroyed Fulgrim, like not even close but I did roll a little above average. With brutal he only needs 3 hits to cause 9 wounds. I give advantage to Ferrus in this edition but honestly it can really go either way.
kind of a bummer they cut Castrmen Orth, the tank commander character they used to have... but he was kind of busted since you could just put him in whatever
So would I even take Gorgon Terminators in this army? Cause I’m thinking of going The Head of The Gorgon Rite of War, and I’m noticing how surprisingly well this army does with almost no Forge World support, which is good since Iron Hands are almost all sold out besides Ferrus Manus himself.
I had a game the other day couple rules I messed up on (not that they were used) but regardless I mismanaged points and shorted myself about 75. And still absolutely wiped some thousand dons
I think Medusan Scales either improves Blessed Autosimulacra to 5+ or it improves Ferrus's granted IWND to 4+. Weirdly, Ferrus is most efficient in an army of core units and vehicles. Medusan Immortals and Gorgons already have 5+ FNP so don't get anything from him. Makes sense in the fluff, but a bit of a shame.
This is why he had to die b4 the siege kicked off cause he was too damn strong just wish he had plot armor sadly no. The hesitation in Ferrus Manus got him knocked out by Fulgrim The Daemon in the Blade Killed Iron Hand
Wow, these are still as fantastic as they were in the HH1. Did I notice that the poor dreadnoughts loose out on taking the blessed auto-simulacra? or is the dreadnought type also count as vehicle? i've always been torn between IHands and IWarriors. The other army that I was going to collect from HH was Legio Cybernetica. can't wait to see what they get.
@@anonymousgeoff5399 that's pretty good, considering it makes it hard to chip damage them to death, manus should considering he's not a vehicle. Even though I don't plan on getting their primarch at the moment. Lots of tanks, heavy infantry, and Dreads my favorites
I don't think the it will not die stacks to 3+, ferrus grants a 5+, blessed auto grants a 6+, only th medusan scales grants "+1" for a 4+ max with ferrus, which is still busted good 😆
I'm a little confused. Even though Manus is dead, Feirros now leads. But there is a lot of talk about multiple Iron Fathers making up the Iron Council. So can any Iron Father be playable with the Tech Marine like upgrades, or is this only for Iron Father Feirros?
Don’t know why, but I’ve always found the Iron Hands to be one of the duller Legions in the novels. For whatever reason the scenes they’re in tend to be tedious for me. 🤷🏻♂️

Remember Ferrus loses the hammer and wields the fireblade instead (which is a nowhere near as capable weapon) during his duel with Fulgrim
I can't wait for ferrus Manus return one day⚙🦿🦾. With the legion of the damned 💥💀☠ . I would like to see angron meeting ferrus Manus during the great crusade.
What an awesome Primarch. It's a shame he perished so early.

I have no doubt all the legions will get this stuff in expansion books in the future

the reason why ferrus loose is that fulgrim has broken rules that allow him to kill even horus in like 3/4 rounds, LOL.

JAGATAI KHAAAAAAANNNNNN!

Don’t imagine this is all the legions will get in the future either; this is like the Index books we’re to 9th Ed 40k.
GW said that there will be expansions both in books and PDFs, so he will probably come back there
It is when he would only need a model when the tank blows up and even then he's nothing special.
GW´s business model includes adding supplements later on. You can bet that most units now missing will be added to the game in the future.
So would I even take Gorgon Terminators in this army?

“Gorgon terminator loose 4+ invul but gain 5+ invul/ 5+ FNP” can you roll both invul then damage limitation role? That feels like a debuff if not!
You can!

Dreads aren’t Vehicles anymore, so they get IWND IIrC instead
They are not vehicles so they now get the -1 strength for incoming shooting.
And I think Ferrus gets the -1 too....

I'm still pissed they removed Autek Mor as a character from HH
I mean these are just the core units so I’m sure they’ll bring all the extended stuff in the legion supplements.
Where do you learn that about Ferrus Manus? Was it in this book?
@Sendri Castivar - various Black Library novels.

not lucius, fabius bile i know its meaningless just thought id correct. always love your content much love from aus
I may have missed it in the video, but what does the "bitter duty" rule do?
You can only be joined by other models with Bitter Duty, so like Moritat Consuls and the like.

Why show yourself in the frame when showing the book, we wanna look at the book and not you intruding.
That's his format buddy.
I do
You say that, but humans connect to another human face much more than anything else. This is humanizing the content. Don't be a drone.
