Nice one! I have a big smile when the engine runs. Thanks to mention us. Very proud for you DrewFix. Someone's trash is another person's treasure. Well done and keep up the good job! VARIETECH
Nice find Drew...Looks like it has a alloy deck..no rust....These Victas will outlast all the expensive made in China mowers at the big box stores...Happy mowing mate.
I can't believe what people dispose of. I have found so many abandoned VICTA mowers and brought them back to life and are now part of my collection. That is a very rare mower. Hang onto it. VICTA is the BEST.
That’s the thing, victa’s will run forever. I picked up a few not that long back that I found on rubbish heaps and all either were already working or just needed a part or two replaced and off they went.
My late dad bought one of these mowers new in 1984. Although, his was the self propelled version. Good memories of us cutting the grass together. Thanks for the memories! New Sub!
Well done great vidio.its amazing what peaple throw out when a simple fix can get it going. Love my old victor mower they last forever with a bit of know how. Cheers steve
Wow!! What a score. I would love one of these! This dates from 1982 -83 and is the last of the full crank 160 engines before they switched to the Powertorque engine like your red mower and features electronic ignition like the PT. Beautiful looking machine. Don't sell it unless you have no room. You will find the catcher off your red mower will go on this fine but not the other way! Thanks for doing this video. Well done on both counts.
Hi James, thankyou for your comments! You have confirmed my thoughts that is a full crank engine. To be honest the frame is not in the best condition, however I have been thinking that this engine being a "full crank engine" would be a very good donor for a Victa Go-Kart project!! What do you think? Cheers Drew
@@DrewFixIt I think personally that would be a shame. What's wrong with the base? You saved a classic. The base looked in good condition for it's age to me, no cracks, holes or scraping on the left side. I've seen some shockers in my time. If you really want the engine out of it I'd love the rest of it. The Powerplus engine has a high compression head as well as a freer flowing muffler, giving more HP. PS, does the fron't axle move up and down at all or is it firm?
Damn good mower Victa two stroke! Just done my lawn with a 30++ year old Victa two stroke starts first time every time, Australian export 'degreaser' easy start, i prime mine 7 pushes starts first time every time!!!! 25 -- 1 with proper two stroke oil ( note; outboard, motorbikes, etc use different two stroke oil, ) Castrol make make two stroke garden oil for mowers chainsaws line trimmers etc only! Good find, there was bugger all wrong with it!!!!
Lol, for a minute I thought I may have had thongs on but had to go and watch the vid to check! Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Cheers Drew
Hello in my Victa maintainance manual it shows to put the carburettor cap on with the float to the top insert the jet and slowly turn the cap when the jets a couple of threads in ,it keeps the float in place

Hi Jeremy, the reason I don’t do this is that I don’t want to risk disturbing or damaging the o-ring! Cheers Drew
