You haven't covered how the southerly gale force winds at port Kembla have piled so much sand on the surf club shed it has 45 steel acro props every foot to prevent the wall from collapsing. Sand that was held in place by the spinifex that was removed. How many hundred thousand will be spent on a new shed, and the hours, labour and fuel for heavy machinery to move the tonnes of blown sand. Every cubic metre weighs about 1.6 tonne. The hind dune vegetation is now dying from being sand blasted and inundated with tonnes of sand. The roads and footpaths now regularly need work crews to clear sand from the paths and clear the road for safety. The cost to rate payers for this dune management plan at Port Kembla is huge! Now the dune management, needs bulding management, footpath management, road management and drains management.

Mother Nature always wins. Efforts made to try and change her course always result in unanticipated impacts.

Nth Cronulla to Greenhills is now victim of the over grassing of beachfront sand dunes and removal of the main dunes. A real mess now with beaches massively eroded by the recent spate of storm surges. (July 2022)
