Me, too. Born 1990 but I mostly used to listen to punk rock and metal along with jazz and blues but it's nice to have discovered this music after all of these years. I didn't know anything about drum and bass until my twenties but I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
Don't feel bad.. those people, those vibes , those journeys through each rave was something you shared with all of us who were there , it was and always is a collective. You hear that tune and see some random persons reaction, that memory , that little shiver of a remembered rush and you know they are you
I has so many 12" in thd early days of jungle . Moving Shadow, Reinforced Metalheadz etc. Some of these tunes are now worth hundreds of pounds but i let them all go in a moment of madness.
Also I think a fun story of being an American at this time was not knowing if Cool Hand Flex was a typo and was supposed to be Cool And Flex due to the massive amounts of mistyped or misatteibuted tune and artist names that appeared on stateside compilations...such as Kaotic Kemistry's Illegal Subs being called Space Cakes over on a Moonshine Records compilation etc. Anyway, that was a pointless story but it happened. And now I know it United Jungle Kingdom got that track credit correct.
