    Hi, came across your channel and found the information interesting. Was wondering if by blow drying immediately after painting if the air from blower could cause some of the paint to spread out of place like pressure pushing on it? Or has that ever happened to you? Well I guess it's a possibility if someone was doing a light layer with a more watered down paint, like maybe white washing. I've been curious to start crafting but haven't quite got there yet. It is good to be informed though w/your do's & dont's. Thanks for the info👍🏼

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  7 днів тому

      Thank you for asking!! We always recommend using very light coats of paint that are of medium viscosity. You will likely need several layers of paint for the surface - background and stenciling areas - but this ensures that the paint dries quickly and stays in place - no running under stencils.

    I use vinyl cutout instead of a stencil as I do so many different pieces. Do you paint the same way? With a dome brush? Do you feel a stencil is better to use than vinyl? Thanks in advance!

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  9 місяців тому

      HI Jennifer, Thanks for reaching out! You can absolutely use vinyl stencils the same way as mylar. The key benefits of mylar over vinyl is reusability (This makes layering easier) and not having to weed and do the layout. (which is hard for alot of folks) Thanks for watching the video, hope you check out the chanel because we have so many ideas that we share! Have a great day!

    after watching Patty stencil on the bamboo cuting board could you use mat varnish on other project with stencils to prevent bleeding under?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  9 місяців тому +1

      Patty says you can certainly do that. We don't typically do that because we've found success with our dome brushes and not bleeding under, but we know a lot of crafters and stencilers do use that technique!

    • @debsnyder2518
      @debsnyder2518 9 місяців тому

      Dome brushes are terrific. I seem to be a little heavy handed with paint and pressure. But I’m working on it. Off loading much better and lighter on my touch. 🙃

      Hi!! Welcome :) We paint a LOT so we buy in paint in bulk from Sherwin Williams. If you want to send us a message on Facebook, we can send you a picture of the container we get and info. Before we started buying bulk, we used DecoArt. We still love the brand and often use it still :)

    Thank you for such an informative video. Is acrylic paint food safe?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  10 місяців тому +1

      Acrylic paint is not food safe. We use a food safe wax on cutting boards over the paint. Here is the link to the product: studior12.com/products/claphams-beeswax-salad-bowl-finish?_pos=1&_sid=9a346f434&_ss=r
