I’m not a fan of any of those artists but singing and being a performer is a talent in itself and I’m pretty sure Max Martin couldn’t perform them as well as they can - just as those who wrote Elvis’ songs couldn’t perform them like he did.

Nah I kinda agree. "Hit me baby one more time" makes no sense in the context of the song. The only reason it was in there was because Max Martin (the guy who wrote the song), is swedish, and thought "hit me" has the same meaning as "hit me up" (which means call me).

Britany can do deep emotion, too, when her handlers allow her to. She's certainly experienced enough real pain in her life to put it into the song. But as far as her handlers are concerned, it's just "pop, Pop, POP! QUEEN OF POP! Make the audience smile and feel good and sexy and nothing else matters."
