  • Creek Bank Erosion Control - On this job I'm building a boulder wall along a creek bank. The will prevent further erosion from happening. The hardest part about this particular job is the creek is a the bottom of the hill in the customers backyard. I have the boulders delivered on the side of the customers home. I use my Bobcat T66 to move the boulders to the top of the hill then I roll them down. I have my Kubota Excavator at the bottom of the hill to place the boulders.

Good equipment and technique, and the completed backyard patio work looks great. Nice addition would have been the erosion control fabric that prevents the washout of the soils. Use the rock to keep fabric in place. My 2¢

Love the swing up gate on the dump.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen gates break off when used as a stone lifting point……

Great job Sean I wish the video was longer and more close up of the excavator, u could even put a camera in cab, but watching u lift all those boulders would have been fun to watch 😀

Thank you, It's funny you say that because I have about 15 mins of footage of the excavator moving the boulders. I debated about including it but I didn't want it to drag on too long. I'm still learning 😂 Thanks for watching and the comment!

I need to do this but on a way smaller scale. The edge of my yard is getting obliterated. And the electric pole is like a foot away from the creek and getting me a little nervous.

Just curious why you didn’t put a key way in to hold the rock in place?

Slope never shows up well on camera. I’m sure that’s way worse in person. Surprised the mini didn’t get stuck down there.

May I ask the cost for that amount of rock?
By the way i must say it looks like it’ll work. Good job!

So how do you keep the rocks from falling in? We did this for our creek and all the rocks slide down the slope and into the creek. Now have to clean if up and come up with a new plan.

You need to set really big boulders into the creek right at the bank. Then stack more boulders on top of those, you can also put fabric down before you place the boulders. Good luck with your project!

Good job man 👨. I just wanted to ask if you need a permit to do this kind of work.
    Thank you

Thank you! Every area is different and it really depends on what you are building. It also depends on how you word it when your asking the township. If you tell them you want to place some boulders to help with erosion they might not give you a hard time. If you even mention the word "wall" your guaranteed going to need a permit. Hope this helps thanks for watching!

Where did you get those rocks?

They came from a local quarry. You order them by the dump truck load. Thanks for watching

Those would have been an option but I don't think any cheaper. This load of boulders as around $1000 delivered. Thanks for watching
