Heya! I tried Harvard University's free cs50: introduction to computer science course. Cs50 is run in conjunction with yale and is completely free! This video is a cs50 review in which I talk about my experience with cs50, who the course is targeted for (is cs50 beginner friendly?), a breakdown of the contents of each week of cs50 and my tips & advice if you are thinking of completing cs50!
CS50 is Harvard University's introduction to the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the art of programming. Demanding, but definitely doable. Social, but educational. A focused topic, but broadly applicable skills. CS50 is the quintessential Harvard course.

I'm currently on Week 5 of CS50, and it's been quite an enjoyable challenge! Joined as a total beginner, but I've learnt so much more than I could imagine.
How and where I can find all lecture of CS50?
Hey do you get a certificate, paid or free?
@@22YearsInAzkaban course is free, certificate must be paid for
Hey how did the course go would this help somebody that has zero knowledge of CS?
@@HerballyTwisted It was pretty good. Apparently 2/3 of the class didn't have any prior CS knowledge (so did I lol), but as you get deeper into it you begin to feel more comfortable. I reckon it's an amazing foundation for learning more CS.
Monetarily free but the hidden real cost of CS50 is hardwork , determination, discipline, passion and a good score.
it honestly changed my life, im actually changing careers
That’s amazing!!
Can u are able make a application by learning it
same im changing career and kinda scared if it right decision lmao
Hope it changes mine to. Any advice I'm on week 4
How's it going so far?
I was so shocked to see such a high quality course is FREE online! I signed up immediately. I have always wanted to learn to code since I knew what it is and what it’s worth in the world! Started this course yesterday and I am so impressed with the content.
So did you finish it ? How was your journey,
I am asking this because i am changing my career to computer science at the age of 21
@@ThatsGoodMoneyy Hi I have not completed it yet, because I am working as well and have two kids but I'm still busy with it and it's worth the time it takes to learn.
@@cindy-leighswarts3727 oh thats great 👍🏻
@Evangelina Pun I'm 23, and just began the process of switching from civil engg to tech.
@@cindy-leighswarts3727 did you complete it?
Thanks so much for this info! I just finished watching Lecture 0, and I was overwhelmed when I watched the first 40 mins. of this video, lol! Came back to it a day later, and my mind had a chance to assimilate the info, and it just makes practical sense! I am looking forward to learning what the rest of the course has to offer.
This is amazing! I would love to see what you did later. I will definitely start with this. Thank you!
Thanks Sunny. Good review and summary of CS50 - I'm actually glad you said it got quite hard towards the end as that shows it is a "real" computer sci course and not a toy course.
Great video. I’m on week 1 now, thank you for the summary
Thank you so much. You are heard and i trust you 100%. Wow! I’m new and it’s day 1 for me. Here with high hopes all due to you!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this review! It was really helpful and comprehensive!
well this was really a great review and would love to know about current going on classes
You should make another video to tell us what you did after finishing CS50. The amount of tracks that you can choose is mindblowing
that's a great idea!
Just started week 4 and its hurting my brain. But not giving up.
Do you know how to make yahtzee
Mee too...its hard but i am not giving..
How do I apply
@@kyliefelix296 go to edx or to the official Harvard site
I gave it up 3 times before I completed it Haha. Good Luck!
Thank you for the video Sunny, great video! I started the course and I am loving it!
Good review! Thank you, and congratulations to completing it!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful :)
Thank you very much for your impressions to the course of CS50. Discipline is a must !
Amazing summary, planning to start the course from tomorrow. The way you explained was so systematic that now no need to go through the "all about the course" section of the cs50. YOU DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION.......XD
Thank you so much!!
Do it!!
@Wellington awesome!
May I ask what you did after the course?
Did you start it, and how did it go?
This is a great review from a great person! i'm currently doing the course ( i'm in week 7) and as someone that has experience in programming, i can say that it takes ALOT for someone that has no prior knowledge of the field to get a hang of the course . you're really really brave to step out of your comfort zone and dive into something you never did before . yaaay to you!
Thank you! So sweet of you to say!
Sunny Singh Does this give college credits???
@@SunnySingh-lx1qm where are you from ? .
As a beginner who is in week 2 (C language) how exactly am i supposed to practice stuff and measure my growth?
@@SunnySingh-lx1qm .
Appreciate the review, will be looking intonit for sure 👌
Awesome!
This is not only a very elucidating review, but you also show great insight with your advices. Thank you!
Just my two cents though: the background music sounds more like FOREground music. It's just too loud and it gets in the way for someone who, like me, don't have English as their first language.
Personally I put your video on mute and had no choice but following it up with the help of the (flimsy) auto subtitles - typos and all!
Other than that, it's really amazing how we can learn from people as young as yourself. Cheers from Brazil!
Outstanding review Sunny! Working PS3 Plurality now. New to CS/programming and loving it :-) !
Thanks so much! Awesome!
I love you from the core bottom of my heart❤️ you just explained everything pretty well 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this video💙 Gonna start it today
Thank you for this! Ill be starting it soon
for completely new starters i recommend going along with w3school first because for completely new starters, cs50 is quite fast and challenging. especially for those whose english is not a mother language as the most important part in coding is the understading part.
I just finished week 1. Loving it so far
Does the course video talk about how to setup with the IDE and github?
I am on week 3. Now I realize there was problem set as well. I will restart from week 1. Thank you so much. I was thinking there was only video courses.
Thank you so much, this is so much helpful.
Your accent is so relaxing :)
Thank you for this Sunny! So helpful
Thank you for the great review
Great video. Love the music on the intro
Yes, but better to just have music in the intro and outro rather than all the way through. :)
Thanks for the overview and encouragement.
Amazing course, definitely time consuming, but the things I learned from here, it helped me get As across some of my coding classes at my college :)
Great review Sunny! Liked and subscribed! Thank you.
I just enrolled the other day and I'm gonna try to give it my best... thanks for your review
I've done like till week 4 and then took a break and kinda forgot abt it thanks for reminding me
Thank you for making this video 🌟
Sunny, you are so positive kind a person. Good luck to you, and never stop there..!!)
This is so useful - thank you!!
Am on week 1 and it is so interesting. I got stuck on scratch for a while lol because I found it so entertaining but i finally moved on from it, even though I'll keep going back to do things on it in the future. Week one has been very intimidating. The command line is like a whole new world but David has been very reassuring about how normal it is to feel like nothing makes sense.
i am in week 1 too, but i can not set up my visual studio code and use it! can you explain how did you do that with visual studio code?
I was just told about this myself, I was pretty skeptical on that, thanks for this.
good video!! i have seen your and the very nest day started the cs50 course. enjoying it!!! thanks.
Great to hear!
I’m gonna start this course right after school ends. I’m so excited!😁
how's your experience?
@@fearful9918 I actually really like I had to put it aside for a while to study for the act but it’s a really good course, it might be a little confusing at the start but you’ll get the hang of it
Excellent review Sunny!
Thank you, made me heaps more confident just hearing about it from a fellow Aussie for some reason haha. Cheers.
Bro, fr thank you for posting this! Appreciate da heck out of this vid
Thanks for this review. I'm in week 0 right now. Good times!
Thanks a lot for this review. I'll check it out
Thank you so much for reviewing the course.
hey not completely through watching the vid yet but the audio + music volume mixing you did is great, nothing too loud nothing too quiet, good job
Thank you!
Don’t agree. Never put music with any singing over a video with talking, it is extremely distracting.
I love that it doesn’t hold your hand, it give you what you have to know and it gives you hints, but it doesn’t hold your hand!
Thank you Miss Singh for sharing your experience , this video of yours video definitely boosts beginner like me
Glad to hear!
Thanks for this amazing review 🙏

Nicely done! Thanks!
Thank you for this video, it was very helpful

If I were alot younger I might possibly have an easier time with it. I'm having trouble with the scratch programming assignment. I'm retired so I got nothing but time.

Damn that Macbook Pro zoom feature tho. Waaay more laptops should have that feature. That's so awesome! I didn't realize how much I need that feature.
My dream has always been to become a software engineer and I think this is the first step to making that dream a reality.

I just started this and am enjoying the course but I need extra help. I'm totally 100% beginner. The instructor is great though.

Focusing is my issue, I have sooooo much going on😢😩 and mind you I’ve paid for it a month and a half ago!! I really want to get this done, Bc there is something like a part 2 in a sense, and I want to definitely achieve them both. #2020 #MotivationPlease
wish ya all the best.
I just finished the CS50 course. Most of the C language was just a review for me. The Python was really good and I also like the web portion with JavaScript. I have very little experience with databases so I had to watch that video a couple times. I wish that I had taken this course in college. I could barely stay awake in my C class in college.
Me too, I have just finished week 1
And C was pretty good, but credit was pretty hard so I left it
@@hamedahmed6348 SO did you received the certificate?
@@CR_1471 oh!
Accually no, I have changed my mind not because of the course's difficulty
But I suddenly discovered that Iam in love with game development, so I changed into self teaching game dev
Wish me the best please!
@@hamedahmed6348 oh that's great..!!
@Nick i know nothing about cs should i take this course ?
hii !! i wanted to ask did you take the certificate ? and if we take these certificates are they worth it?
I'm in presently week4 it's great, every pset is just lit🔥🔥🔥
Really great vid thank you
Hey Sunny! Thanks for making this video. It was super informative and gave me clarity on CS50. I had 2 questions that I wanted to ask you...
1. Did you opt for a verified certificate and in your opinion do you think it is worth getting one?
2. In edX, it says that the course takes 11 weeks, and at the same time its says that the course is self paced... so can one take more than 11 weeks to complete the course?
It's self paced but categorized into weeks
very helpful video, thank you
Great review. 6.7 on imdB is not so bad haha. Many underrated gems live around that.
Hahah true!!
2 months ago i gave up at week1, the tricky part was problem sets for me i wasn't able to do it.
After watching ur video got motivated
This time I'm ganna finish it .
The problem sets are difficult at first, but keep at it!
Ayy same..I expected it to b so easy ..3 weeks since I joined n been procrastinating till now. I haven't made that much of a progress on prob set1.
Oh my gosh I love that this is the same course so you basically are getting a degree!!! Harvard too omg!!
Thank you so much ma'am ♥️
Thank you for the awesome review !
One suggestion please keep the background music low.. it was too much distracting and at times I could not make out what u were trying to say because of loud background music.
Sounds good to me , do you have a link for the course and did you do any other courses for the cs50,iis the course consisting of 3 parts. Is there an application deadline to register or open registration, thanks Sunny
Hey did you completed your project? Thanks i had quited in early April but I'm getting back to it . Your video motivated me alot. I had made a note " just practice rather than absorbing knowledge " - sunny Singh 🌞 you are really a give us shine to all of uss
you are very good student and a gig as well , i mean your background is not cs but you have them at your finger tips congrats....well am cs graduate from your country (india) if am not wrong. cs50 lectures are just awesome! am about to complete all lectures.
Nice Video, thanks a lot.
I just enrolled, hope it goes well.
i am planning to enrol in the CS50 Course. Thank you for the indepth anlaysis of the course it was definitely helpful to prepare for the course and understand what i was signing up for. My suggestion after watching your entire video was that the content was spot on but the volume was a bit low it was sometimes difficult to hear what you were saying.
The background music was annoying 😒
its a great course
Ohhh Bhaii maza aagaya
I’m doing cs50 now, but I’m curious if it’s worth paying for the full certificate, in the sense of will it help me in the job search or are the potential employers like « nah, it’s not representative of your knowledge cause it’s online »? I’m a planning to start a cs degree this fall, I’m just getting a head start with these classes
