This has happened to me sadly. Instead of not showing up, the bus did show up and the driver skipped me. I tried running to the next stop and he SPED UP.
tbh some of the bus drivers in Canada do that. They'd just lock the doors to get food/drinks/toilet without letting the passengers go in. (I lived in Canada nearly a decade).
I hope the bus driver is doing okay. He did not deserve that. It can be a lesson for the bus drivers. I hope less of the drivers get harassed, preferably none. ❤
Public transit where I live is normally really good. There are, however, infamous drivers who are known to be colossal cunts who actively will try to board as few people as possible between main stops in order to idle at the main stops. This in turn has lead to many people I know being completely overlooked at stops, including me several times. The worst one was I got to the main stop a minute before the bus is scheduled to ARRIVE at the stop, saw the driver boarding the last of the group, and I waved at him. He saw me, we locked eyes as I approached from 15 meters away, as I hear him re-pressurised the tyres and CLOSE THE DOOR! He turns the tyres to leave, but the traffic was heavy ‘end of work day’ type and he only pulled out from the stop 3 inches. I get to the door, STILL BEFORE THE OFFICIAL ARRIVAL TIME, and tap the door and shout “hey, can I get on? Why are you leaving early?”, he doesn’t turn to look at me. He gets STUCK UNABLE TO PULL OUT FOR 3 MINUTES and STILL doesn’t let me on, to which several internal bus goers are now shouting “dude wtf why aren’t you boarding this guy?”, then as soon as he has space he pulls off. I left a pretty nasty email with the bus service, and found out that he was on his way to retiring and in what was his last month he’d already racked up 50+ complaints of this type (knew the guy in the bus customer support who told me). Still to this day one of the MOST infuriating bus experiences, and I wouldn’t mind but they get better wages, pensions and benefits schemes where I live than most jobs, as well as being treated well socially (most people thank the drivers for the ride, for example), so shit like that is just purely cunt behaviour on the drivers behalf. Fortunately tho all the bad drivers tend to last only a year or so thanks to the community being pretty vocal when they act cuntish to us, and the nice drivers get defended by frequent passengers when kids, drunks or entitled pricks try to give them shit so they stick at it.
Honestly, I can't even IMAGINE a bus coming in more than an hour late. Like, I know it gets rough with the schedule in more rural areas where they only get one every hour or so, but even there I can hardly imagine even the last bus to be THIS late for no understandable reason like heavy snowfall or some other accident, but in Ennas case, especially since they seem to have been at the final destination/turning station, they should've heard if anything like that were to be the case, or I guess if there was heavy snowfall they should've been able to see themselves. Honestly, in a case like this, I think where I live they would've instead made an effort to organize a replacement transport once it was clear the bus would be more than 20 minutes late for the next, like, tour. Like, I can completely understand Enna popping off there, if your bus comes that late and the driver doesn't even have the DECENCY to give you a reason why when asked, he just comes off as being a dick.
You my friend, have it good. I live in a area that can be described as half urban(lots of small towns close together, with plenty of wilderness and farm land) and we get about 2-5 busses to and from a day. And around a thrid of the times they either skip you or or just never show up. Them being 10-20 min early or late is standard, you have to get out long before to make sure you don't miss them when they are early.
The only bus in my hometown runs from 8 am to about 5 pm, But only one way.. So if you took the bus up to the grocery store about 10 miles away.. Your sh*t out of luck cause you gotta walk all the way back with your groceries.. And considering it gets 106 degrees F in summer to -30 F in winter it really sucks. Plus the only reason we even have that bus is for the old folks home... But since the Bus doesn't run all day the old folks don't use it, since they cannot walk back to their home on their own. Which is sad cause they are incredibly bored all the time.
I have been through something arguably worse. The buss just drove past me while I as waiting with another stranger. There's no way he didn't see two people
That has happened to me so many times during school days lmao it's too cold for me in the US and every time the bus came, I get very angy and cranky (cause I gotta wake up at goddamn 6 AM in the morning)
Be my fellow Canucks, we all feel the same way from time to time... I'm from central CAD so winter here ain't no joke, and I remember out waiting for my bus 6ish AM every morning in -20 sometimes even -30 weather when I was going to college 13 years ago... Glad I was born not to be easily shaken by the cold, but back in those days the only thing kept me warm were the Heavy Metal songs from my MP3. Feel ya Enna
In my part of Canada, that doesn't really happen. I have a bus stop near my house where drivers can get snacks and use the toilet, but they let passengers in first because they take the key with them. They don't just let you freeze you ass off in -30c at 5 in the morning while they take a break for 3 minutes. That driver Enna encountered is just an asshole.
Bus clumping is when early buses run earlier (fewer people at the stop) and late buses run later (more people at the stop). When a bus runs too early, it gets cancelled and goes back to the depot. Then the bus behind it is supposed to arrive not too late after the scheduled time. What probably happened is that they cancelled your bus when the next guy was way too far away. It's happened to me several times and is really annoying. From your POV, he was supposed to be there at 12:15, and then he proceeded to be a callous asshole. From his POV, you're getting mad at him for decisions and policies that he has no control over (e.g. no unattended passengers, minimum break time to stay alert).
yeah, but most if not all buses have cams now. so even if they did, the one who stole it could be found pretty easily. not to mention most buses got GPS on em. so they can be tracked.
@@agelessrebellion8271 To be fair I don't think it's an issue of if they'll get caught but that some maniac that would hotwire a bus is now loose with a whole-ass bus
So I went to college in a small town in Quebec, one year I was taking the equivalent of a Greyhound to Montreal to take a train home for Christmas. I walk 25 min through 2 feet of falling snow, get to the terminal 20 min early but end up standing behind an older lady arguing with the single cashier about a delivery (I believe the busses double as mail transport or smth). They argue long enough for me to see the bus pull in and everyone get on, at which point I run out, step on the bus offer the guy way more in cash for a ticket there but he can't let me on and I end up waiting 3 hours for the next one, missing my train costing another $200. I don't blame the driver but holy fuck that was like 12 hours straight of sitting there tilted
I understand the transit frustration, having lived in Toronto and Ottawa, which has more transit problems due to not being a grid road layout like Toronto is. However, these drivers have to sit for hours, getting frustrated at traffic and delays, knowing they're the front line that riders are gonna hate on. It's not a fun or easy job.
At first, I was like, wtf, most likely the bus driver isn't at fault, it's prob some other bus driver that didn't show up/bus that broke down. But then, like the fking bus driver arrives, goes out, locks door in the middle of the winter to go buy a snack :/ Yah, yell at that bish.
I know that Enna is Canadian, and I usually come to this video to vent whenever my bus area is doing something frustrating that I sympathize with Enna. Fucking constructions, man.
As much as I tend to admire Canada from afar (I'm from England, essentially Yharnam but with more brutalist architecture from the 60's) I have heard that all the laws protecting Canadian services and companies from scary American competition does tend to make them behave in a rather cartel-esque fashion. I guess the bus doesn't need to arrive on time when it's the only bus within a billion mile range.
Honestly the public transportation system in north america (including Canada, USA, and Mexico.) are so terrible.. bad service, bad times, lazy employees, not enough stops, not efficient with their routes, train seats are super uncomfortable and hard, subways are gross and smelly.. etc etc.. Even most places don't even have a bus or even taxis.. My hometown and the 3 closes cities (which are only like 20-40 miles away at most.) only have ONE taxi driver between all 4 of them..
It's first time I heard Enna was complaining for real instead of just holding it inside. She has every rights to be angry and savage xD Bus drivers in Canada are so bad, not even apologizing like true Canadians. Imagine that happening in Japan, fired on spot probably🤣
Rule no. 1: Never let the bird fly off the handle, otherwise you will get it with her a beak. Enna maybe a songbird, but when she goes on eagle mode, oooh boy.
Harassment happens under two circumstances. 1. The person complaining is just an asshole, or 2. the person complaining has a valid complaint that nobody will listen to anyways. People want accountability. If nobody is held responsible for dumb shit like this, then people will take that accountability into their own hands (hell, just look at cancel culture). And despite what people may think about Karens, they are very much a minority; most people aren't ridiculously unreasonable because most people know how to function properly in society by necessity. So if you have a bunch of signs saying how much your employees get harassed, it's not an indication that bus drivers get treated poorly in general, it's an indication that _something is very wrong_ with your transit and you're not doing anything about it. It reminds me of Diana, the Hunter. She started murdering bus drivers because of the rampant rape of women by said bus drivers in Mexico. Being introverted has nothing to do with standing up for yourself.
