    I’m in my first semester of nursing school & figuring out how to study is seriously so hard. Being self disciplined is super hard too 😭 just know you definitely aren’t alone with feeling the way you’re feeling! 💜

    Study tip for fundamentals tbh is just practice questions, just a whole bunch...look them up in the textbook, online, where ever. just practice. Also for pharmacology Picmonic is golden 🙌🏻🙌🏻 ! Then for med surg type classes, concept maps and case studies and of course PRACTICE QUESTIONS!

    Good luck with your nursing journey! I’m a new RN myself, and planing to get started on my RN-BSN in January. Nursing field is very competitive with no exception of where you lived! I’m from North Cal, English is my second language, I moved to the US, and started my nursing career from ground up from earned my high school diploma, then prerequisite classes with all As, with 2 young kids, age 4 and 1! I’ve accepted into ADN program on the very first time I applied and the only school I applied for. If I can do it, everyone can😊

    I am also in my first semester of nursing school and everything here is the EXACT way I am feeling. My school is doing classes the same way too. We had our first clinical day this week and I was so scared bc we only had our short lab sessions in person, felt so lost. The workload since going online is insane. You're not the only one feeling like this girl, I feel you.

    Yes fundamentals is basically the CNA course. Don’t beat yourself up. You are new to the medical field. You will be fine. Thank you for being so honest. I love this video.

      Take the CNA course if it is offered in your high school! It will help immensely. And after a year or so working in a nursing facility go work in a hospital. You will learn a lot more.

      @@muskaanbibi9556 you could always take the CNA course when you finish or find a program offered fast paced over the summer. Most community colleges offer this course. Have you applied for a nursing school yet? After completing your first clinical rotation in nursing school you could always work as a PCT in a hospital without taking a CNA course. A PCT is basically a CNA but you do a little more.

      @@muskaanbibi9556 yes just take a CNA course. There may be some in your area that you can do over the summer. If not you may have to wait until you are in community college and take it as an extra course while working on your prerequisites.

    I just started my first semester of the BSN program as well and I totally feel you on the stress level and having to balance everything! Just remember that you’re not alone in this and once you get used to the rhythm of nursing school you’ll feel so much better. Don’t let a bad test grade during the first few weeks discourage you! I am a junior in high school and I have to decide whether to go to a community college or straight to a 4 year university. I am pursuing nursing and your videos are really helping me decide on going straight to a community college or straight to a university. I have an amazing opportunity to go right into community college free and apply to get into an amazing nursing program attached to a 4 year university so I am thinking of “taking advantage” of that. Your videos are very motivating and I am super anxious to see what my future in nursing holds!!

    Wow we are seriously the same person! I’m in my first semester too and I’m trying to get over my fear of blood!!! Every time I give blood I pass out. Hoping it’s different when I do it myself lol. We did IVs already but we’re completely online, so it’s not bad obviously right now because no blood!
    We just started Catheters yesterday. Girl I thought I was freaked out over blood but catheters are a whole different ball game for me. Maybe it’s because we’re online and strictly watching videos, but make sure you have a strong stomach when u get to that!! Good luck girl I can tell you seriously love your program and you’re going to make such a great nurse! Trust me if I could get over the catheters you can get over anything!!😊

    Did you struggle in A&P? I’m a full time CNA and work full time. And I am STRUGGLING in A&P. I am a freshman at Tarleton State University in Texas and I live on my own in an apartment so trying to keep up is hard.

    • @laurenhills239
      @laurenhills239 3 роки тому

      I was in the same boat as you working full time as a CNA while taking prereqs. I think most people struggle w/ A&P while they’re in it so don’t feel bad, especially when you have a lot on your plate. If anything how you grind now will only make you mentally & emotionally stronger for when it actually gets hard... aka the nursing program. My best advice is to *stay super organized, *watch UA-cam videos on topics you don’t understand *use quizlet or make flash cards *find time to study everyday *form a study group. That’s what I did to get As in both A&P 1&2, microbiology, pathophysiology, chemistry ..etc. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

      For sure become a CNA if you can! I will say that in my experience when applying for nursing school that we did not put anything on our resumes that we did in high school, they wanted everything from college on. This was also the case with applying for any other programs, jobs, etc! This means that it might not be super helpful when applying to nursing school if all of your volunteer work is done in high school. If you want to do it for fun and just to gain experience, then by all means do it! However, just make sure you really hit volunteering and shadowing hours hard as soon as you graduate high school! I go to Mizzou and that was the standard here, but it could be different at other schools..
