The single raised cap band is from 1926. The single flush cap band is from 1927, and the double narrow bands are from 1928 and early 1929 (1928 with the banner imprint, 1929 without the banner and just the two lines of text).

I'm not sure if mine has a raised band or not, but I found one exactly (or nearly exactly) like this last week among my mom's stuff.

@@InnerProp that's great. If you rub your finger down the length of the cap and you feel a bump where the cap band is, it's raised. If not, it's flush. You can see it, too. If it's raised it's from 1926 (and I think they made some earlier as well). If it's flush it's from 1927.

@@singlesideman I am FEELIN' IT! JK, but I can feel it. When I hold it up I can see it is just a smidge higher than the cap. Thank you so much for answering!

It is a pen. I have dozens of my grandfather's Duofold Jr's and the big ones. Also a case of new in the box ones!

Great review! For a pen known as the "Big Red", it is annoyingly orange.

Oh god you put Ancient Copper in that beauty!? That ink crusts up worse than any other ink I’ve used.
If left to it’s own devices it has been known to gain sentience and begin recruiting followers…
