- Is Nestle Adding Sugar to Baby Food in the Global South? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Consumer giant Nestle has been accused of adding sugar to baby products sold in global south countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Studies found that the same products sold in Western markets do not have added sugar, raising questions about the company's attitude towards lower- and middle-income countries. While most countries don't have stringent rules on limiting sugar levels in baby food, global guidelines warn against adding sugar to such products. Nestle claims it follows global guidelines and that recipes depend on local regulations and availability of ingredients. What explains Nestle's contrasting approach? Why is added sugar harmful for infants? Palki Sharma tells you.

´Nothing unlawful’ is not equal to ´nothing immoral’
Huge fan of madam Palki sharma ❤
Proud she's Indian 😊😊😊
Yes, Palki is talking about hypocrisy!! Hahaha.. hahaha.. hahaha...
Palki, I am an African lady and I adore you to bits. You are my favourite newscaster on earth, believe you me when I say it..... You have intelligence, wit, elegance, beauty, charm, decorum and sarcasm. I just love that.... Palki I blame ourselves in Africa for this, we want to worship western food instead of our own food,it serves us right.
Boycott nestle product
If you don't want to buy you leave it alone. Stop this childish "boycott" yelling. It's the duty of your government to make rules that protect the lives of her citizens. If they're lazy to do that, hold them responsible. Again, it's your duty to check what you eat before buying. If you failed to do that, then boycott yourself
@@MrSahbunky its better to be childish to protect children and their health from these shitty corporations.
Why is it a problem, as long as it's them right. Do onto others, as you would want them do to you.
@@MrSahbunkyI believe you're misunderstanding because we Indians live in a democratic country, not a dictatorship. If we recognize something harmful to one's life, we should protest and boycott it to raise awareness. Otherwise, people won't be aware of what's happening. If you only boycott for yourself, your mindset resembles that of the West. While commenting may not create significant change, it can still raise awareness, leading to substantial change.
Misleading world through various advertising platforms.
This type of company in this world are full , they mislead people health , for them money is important not people health.
That is why I don’t buy nestle.
I'm sure added sugar isn't a problem Glucose is important. Depends on the environment.
@@jeffreydavis4017nestles qwik.....so says Farfel's
Consuming sugar as much as one wants to is a basic human right.
We should take this matter @ Social media
India has banned export of Marco Polo rice. Red Cross force feeding African babies with white Marco Polo scurvy rice on prime time - White sugar export banned due to Diabetes epidemic world wide
In Europe, all chemicals that are used in KFC McDonald’s are banned so it taste totally different in Europe, but in India, it is not the case it is bad. All cancer causing chemicals are used and nobody questions- this is a very sad story. I would recommend investigating this and taking immediate action.
Palki sharma ...new idol for journalism❤
Save animals from evils, stop genocide of animals 🥲
Simply Nestle said - have strict rules before questioning us
Please tell what is global south's rules for their companie's products.
See that's why when it is comes to food and health we should not depend on Industrialised products whic are made by Big companies.... who's goal is only Money.
I pity those who believe these companies and are lazy to cook their own food and depend on these companies for Food.
It's already like we have to earn only that's the only duty ...we should not do or have any other skills and should depend on the corporate Companies for everything that's want they and slowly they are making/ pushing people to pursue this kind of life style
But in this case some racalise judges Supreme Court 🤫🤫🤫🤫
But nobody will threaten them with 'We will rip you apart ' . That is only reserved for Ayurveda and Patanjali
Here in NOLA Nestle candy has loads of added sugar toooo...
Really interesting.
just feed your babies boiled vegetables like carrots and potatoes. My wife did the exact same thing and our kids grew-up healthy.
This is normal with most multinational companies. Uniliver, Anchor etc etc.
Can't baby food be made at home? I am just asking no hate
I think many eatables have higher sugar then rest of the world like carbonated drinks, yogurt etc
Why is it hipocracy ....govt of global south should fo thier work
Don't buy it then.
Sadly that's not how it works.. why shouldn't brands take some accountability? It's possible many people aren't aware of how much sugar is in the baby food or perhaps not have any other choice. Why should we let brands get away with this? Even in the country I live in a brand was sued for false advertising a drink full of sugar as 'health drink' and many people did feed their kids this due to lack of awareness.
1000% true, I think modern well educated parents are more prone to thise products😊@@saniyadani1862
New era new thieves, bandits in corporate, big companies share the same thing, cautious yo every human, animal stop Rnd on human beings and animal beings .
Why ?
30 years ago , China has realized the sugar issues , and pag standard to warn all baby food brands to follow their health ministry guideline . It demonstrate an effective governance .
Ram dev will make new formula now with divinity dignity 😅
I don’t think that most onlookers on your channel are not aware of Nestle and their crooked marketing and crooked strategies.
15 saal ka BACCHA bhi XXL ki T-shirt pahan Raha hai.. . .. . . 😅😂😅😂😅😅😂
Instead of global south why you are not using India's name!Any compulsion??
U look so beautiful in Saree
Boycott halal products like himalaya, hamdard & support patanjali, gurukul kangdi, baidhnath etc ✌
Why you don't worship to the Almighty God the one who made universe and all forces energy and all living beings
But you see almighty God is actual power He is knowledge He is eternally alive and and almighty
Just like magnetism you can't see but you prove the power
Also He can do anything with his will He is the creator and provide sustenance and He can communicate to His creation
He Has no body He is not a mixture He can't be seen He is not dependent He has no partner He is not limited He is the creator of the whole universe and forces
So why still do it
NEWS is 40 years old
Your little knowledge Palki , you need to grow your knowledge.
When a company says " global norms or rules" , it means it follows the prescribed standards laid down by respective countries.
In pharmaceutical industry, US ask to follow USFDA norms, UK ask for UK MHRA, Australia ask for TGA .
In India, Indian pharma company follows , IP norms , not the USFDA, UK MHRA or TGA norms .
Where was your report on Hypocrisy exhibited by Indian pharma company and regulatory authorities, when it's medicine killed 100's of children in Uzbekistan & Gambia .
Your Hypocrisy is exposed here , your double standards are exposed here. Making news on big companies, can give you TRP but how about the journalistic TRP :
"Truth" for all & Truth in all
"Responsibility" of being universally honest
"Parallel " to all
