+Sérgio Marques How about the first moment you get free movement of the submarine, and Emerald's ass is sitting right in front of you. Cue instant battle. Frantically trying to escape... Emerald stomps you for an OHKO.
Sin I think destroys Spira(or just Bevelle) with it. And Supernova is a Gravity based attack. Still, it inflicts alot of bad status effects, so it would most likely kill your party anyways(unless ribbon)
*Sephiroth casts Super Nova* Cloud and the others sitting in Gaia: oooooohhhhhh pretty lights..... People of Earth: SHIT ITS THE APOCALYPSE!! Sephiroth: Shit.... wrong solar system... I missed...

Ozma's Meteor usually cant 1hko your party members unless they're afflicted with mini or low on hp. It's usually the killer combo of Curse + Meteor that kills off everyone
I was always terrified of Super nova when i first played 7. then once realizing it only deals 90% of your CURRENT HP and cannot actually kill you, definitely took away the epicness of the nap inducing attack.
It's hilarious how Final Fantasy's endgame attacks (for both bosses and characters) end up destroying the galaxy. Yes, this is a fantasy game, and things are done solely for the purpose of the epic scale... But come on. After Sephiroth sends an asteroid that destroys half the galaxy and EXPLODES THE SUN, what exactly are we trying to save at that point? Ha. I love how the resulting supernova quickly disintegrates Mercury and Venus, then we are suddenly shown the same destructive radiation slowly creeping up on Cloud and company. There aren't enough 9's in a phone book for the amount of damage that should have inflicted.
***** Clever. Ha. But I'm sure there's some middle ground in between tossing a carrot at someone and destroying the universe. It's actually a line they tread the entire game, what with swords and spells and such. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the hilariously over the top attacks at endgame. I just think that some of the attacks (like Eden) are so overblown that I have trouble taking it seriously.
TMStacks Because the list is for attacks against you, and you never fight against Eden. Eden's summon is badass, but it took so long that I rarely used it. I preferred Bahamut's Mega Flare, or Quistis' Shockwave Pulsar. Talk about awesome moves.
@@squall5742 The only way Lionheart is doing 35.000 damage is MAYBE if you're doing a Low Level Run. Lionheart alone should do around 100.000 damage (not counting the Renzokuken itself) if you're playing the usual way.
+Amiee Ann When you first encounter a malboro, no one has a damn ribbon. And stars help you if you're a first time player to malboros. The most WTF moment EVER!
If we're talking Final Fantasy X in the Omega Ruins, then yes. Definitely. In VII it's easy to protect. You can get 2 ribbons by the time you first encounter Malboros.
They were such a pain in Final Fantasy VIII. "Oh hello Esthar let me just take a stroll around" then you get ambushed by two Malboros that inflict Bad Breath with Confuse and/or Berserk on all allies so you basically have no control of your team and you just watch them experience a slow and painful death through Poison. That was before I had mastery of the Junction system though. Cerberus' ST-Def-Jx4 (and to a lesser extent Carbuncle and Siren''s ST-Def-Jx2) definitely made it a lot easier during my second run.
Searchmeister I know right! Air Tam Storm was feared by me in that fight, then I sussed that Airetam was Materia backwards and the damage inflicted depended on the amount of green Materia you have equipped.
+Joseph Skinner Well "aire tam" is "materia" spelled backwards, so there was supposed to be your first clue, but I guess it's a bit encrypted, meaning whoever doesn't figure that out is just sorta screwed because they keep getting 9999'd by Emerald.
DarkPaladin24 That attack actually fucked me in the ass first time I fought him. Second time, I just blitzed him with my aeons and managed to kill him the very turn before he used it.
john lowe You still don't get it. What I actually meant was this isn't 1997 ffs. Then Barret smacking Biggs into a tv should also be in the remake then, right? Or perhaps fighting emerald weapon while standing still at the bottom of the sea where gravity is still in effect as on land. That's what I'm talking about. Super nova may be included but it's not like solar system destruction really happened even in the original.
Thank you. You not to bad yourself SpongeBob. Lol. I have been playing since 12 years old. Final Fantasy really help me with my critical thinking in school. Not so much now but still one of my favorite games.
No actually but u can survive It... U have to use protect and curaga After. Terrebreak even if u have protect One shots everyone, the Only whay Is to have Hero Heal (or Hero/Witch sierum im from Italy so the game says Siero dell'eroe/del mago for me)
1. Doomsday is Darkness Element, not Fire. 2. Meteor is a non-elemental spell and pretty much guaranteed instant death on the party. Nothing blocks it.
ozma was up till now the most easiest super boss i have ever fought i beat it on the first try he did about 4 turns max before he died that in my book is no superboss excluding FFVIII omega weapon when u defeat it with aura method its just laughable but without it actually fun and hard boss. I did play him once after just to see why ppl call it the hardest boss and whatnot i had 2/4 dark absorb one had 50% reduce and one nothing. Had couple of ribbons to take away status ailminents but even when it cast meteor doomsday whatnot I still beat him. Ozma is no superboss in my opinion....
Oh I was smart and would collect every single member first and save the tower for last, put Mog first give him the moogle charm, and bring 3 good characters, makes it simple. But yes I know not everyone knows of this.
+donbasuradenuevo It takes more balls to climb the tower and fight off everything than to climb it with the Molulu Charm. Not only that, the Steam version has an achievement where you need to fill the Bestiary and get all the Rages. Magic Urn and the Magic Levels all count towards the tally.
Hmmh, uploaded 2012... Well, that explains the absence of Bhunivelze's Dancing Mad or Hypernova attacks... That said, I'd still say the biggest _real_ "Oh Shit" moment in FF history is, well, the whole god damn scenario that plays out on the Floating Continent in FFVI, really... It's one big "Oh Shit" moment followed by an equally big "That Actually Just Fucking Happened" moment.
Terra Break by Omega weapon in FFVIII was a really big oh shit moment, only way to survive it was to have heroes or angelo moon, without those terra break is a instant game over
Fun Fact: It was actually a relatively short and uneventful attack in the original version. When they brought it to America, they decided to make it more "dramatic"
The real "oh shit" moments in ff are when ur forced into battle, while still under-leveled, or not equipped right and u have to watch ur party die, while trying to remember when the last time u saved was... Or when u play a boss for the first time without a guide, and u can't figure out why u fucking die all the time (for example me fighting yunalesca for the 3rd time in a row, not realizing that she automatically kills everyone not in zombie mode while switching between 2nd and 3rd form... "wtf?"...)
My biggest wtf moment: Final Fantasy 12, killed thw chocobos in the ozmone plains, went to a mob and when i came back a red chocobo lvl 99 killed me 1-hit.
My biggest OH SHIT moment in Final Fantasy is when I was playing Lightning Returns and I saw a dark cloud throwing lightnings around the field and I thought it would be wise to attack it. It turns out it was a superboss.
Supernova is an overrated attack, it cant kill you and doesnt fuck with your status, so long as you keep an eye out for it its basically a waste of an attack from Sephiroth, also its stupid that it was ramped up so much outside of Japan, that attack would DESTROY THE WORLD and ruin Sephiroth's own plan in using it
FFXII had a couple for me, Yiazmat spamming Death Strike was a bit of an OH SHIT! moment, and the best one which I just had to laugh at when I just escaped with a single party member left with double-digit HP, was when I first encountered a magic pot in the depths of the Pharos and accidentally hit it.
FFIX oh, shit! moment would be... leaving Gizamaluke's dungeon halfway through... you're on disc 1 (lvl 7-15 party) and climbing that stair will give you grand dragons, lvl 50-ish. again, mid-dungeon, not far into the game. many have just taken comfort in the exploration feeling at this point. (yay for FFIX on Steam btw!)
With the help of Quina, you can beat him. Before fighting the dragon, let Quina die in a normal encounter battle. then revive him with items and hope that he'll be revived with 1HP if you have done this, climb up the ladder and fight the dragon. Use that lightning attack of Quina to deal 9999 damage (because he has 1HP) and use it once more. You just have to hope that the dragon doesn't kill Quina. If you beat the lvl 50 dragon successfully, have fun with your 9000exp for everyone. Level 10 -> Level 18-20 instantly
Albert Lacen I think the community has dubed these type of bosses super bosses. They are not required to beat the game and are sub-stantually harder than anything required in the story. Penance to be is the most difficult boss in Final Fantasy if you dont do the Aeon 1 shot strat. Its not so much that strategically he is the most demanding but the stats you require is insane. To me FFX has the most interesting story boss for a challenge run which is Evrae in the NSGNONCNBBNS challenge run.
complete story line defeat all monsters in arena ( inclusive nemesis) then board airship go outside the ship battle stars! think that was what you needed to do! not sure! it's been a while since i played ffx
Its an end game optional boss called Penance (deemed one of the hardest). To fight it you have to first defeat all the dark aeons in the game. After that, you board the airship and a new location will appear on your map, you select it and it automatically takes you to the deck for the fight. If you aren't sure about the dark aeons I suggest looking for a guide. You don't need to finish the story or complete the arena to get it (completing arena is to unlock nemesis, probably 2nd hardest boss with penance). Also it is very do-able without maxed stats and zanmato if you know the attack patterns/responses of the boss (e.g. make sure both arms are never up or you're pretty much dead). Goodluck haha
You forgot the most simple one lmao. Whenever Barrett and Cloud fight that big ass scorpion in the beginning. "Attack while it's tail is up" what!?? Already a mess up at the beginning of the game. I can't tell you how many times my brother and I tried to defeat it thinking we had to attack while "it's tail is up" lol!!! I am enjoying seeing my little cousin get roasted while playing final fantasy. He sucks so bad lmao. But he is really good at playing Resident Evil. Only 9 years old and has not died once while playing RE 😭.
I think the biggest "Oh Shit" moment in FF history was the end of FFXIV V1.0 . Players were gathering in the fields and cities, eery music everywhere, a bloody big meteor slowly approaching the planet, the server admins were starting to lose control of the server... and then an epic cutscene followed by a permanent disconnect...
Zemus's Big Bang in FF4. Warmech in FF1. That time Galuf fights Exdeath 1v1 in FFV. Getting spotted by a high-level aggro enemy in FF12. Any time any class of Malboro gets off a Bad Breath. Seifer's "Zantetsuken Reverse" in FF8. Kefka setting the WORLD ON FIRE in FF6. And then doing the same to your airship as you try to flee. The first time you saw a chocobo drop a meteor on your party and instant kill in FF Tactics. Any time you fail a vital raid mechanic in FF14's endgame. Usually accompanied by a massive flashy raid-wide 99999 damage attack
yeah Seifer with the reverse was way better oh shit moment than emerald weapons stomp.. even supernova was, I think the uploader fucked up those two orders
Doomgaze, FF6. Besides of course the initial WTF of being randomly attacked while flying around on your otherwise totally safe airship, it opens with level 5 death, making you go "oh %*$ what were my levels again?!"
Shinryu from V lies in a normal chest in the final area, he got a back attack on me, opened with Tidal Wave and dealt 8000 damage to my party member who had 3000 max hp
I get the feeling that Sephiroth's Super Nova was supposed to be instant game over. Seeing as he destroyed the entire solar system to do damage to your party.
Everyone clowning on super nova(for desperate meme likes🙄), at the time it was the coolest shit I have ever seen. Nothing beat it in any ff series or any game. He literally ended not only your existent but the entire Galaxy. If you want to be real with it though. Edit: wait nvm...i just remembered fei skill called *the big bang* in xenogears 😱😱
I think the Basilisk in FFX that can Petrify your entire party and cause a game over is a bigger "Oh Shit moment" then the Malboro breath attack. Also the Anima Oblivion attack is like the biggest "Oh shit moment" I have ever had in my video gaming life! Haha that attack was freaking horrifying the first couple times I went through it! Anima is the most bad ass summon EVER, nights of the round don't have shit on her!
Meh, not really with the Basilisks. Maybe upon first reaching the calm lands because of the general difficulty spike and mobs but at least you only have to protect yourself from ONE status and it's easier to protect yourself from petrification than confusion, poison etc Anima is cool but I don't know enough about what's going on behind the scenes stat wise, as Valefor's Energy Blast regularly does 99999 damage whereas Oblivion doesn't hit for much... So I never use her.
Whoops those were Anacondaurs. Tbh it is a bit cheap to spring Basilisk on you early in the game but at least there was a chance they wouldnt come as a pair!
Demonoliths are worse, though. Their Breath petrifies 80% of the time without Stoneproof or Ribbon. Basilisks and Anacondaurs can only petrify 1 character at a time, if I'm correct. Bahamut's "Impulse" is also an "Oh shit" moment, if you're not prepared.
Customize your armour with 30 wings to discovery to break HP limit... then max characters on sphere grid i.e replacing ALL hp nodes that arent 400 with hp 400 nodes... then use rikku's overdrive to double hp on party...
Don Tonberry+Overdrive->AP+Triple overdrive= Full sphere grid for all chars in a few hours(The problem when filling the grid will actually be a lack of spheres, not AP)
Aire Tam Storm when you don't understand how it works. Ozma's HAX version of Meteor which never misses (at least you can Return Magic it if you survive it). FUCKING TERRA BREAK FROM OMEGA WEAPON (if you don't know the attack pattern). Bad Breath from Greater Malboros in Omega Ruins (ambush without Initiative). Just a few off the top of my head...
Blanka Oito Bits Hence "if you don't know the attack pattern". Can't defend if you don't know it's coming! Or that it's physical, either, for that matter. Of course there are ways of dealing with it without resorting to invincibility, but that wall was insurmountable for 11-year-old-me.
What about tidal wave from Shin-Ryu in final fantasy 5. If you weren't expecting him inside the treasure box (which means you probably didn't have courel rings equipped) he would one shot kill your ENTIRE party before you could even input a command. Don't know who made that battle but I'm sure they were pissing thier pants laughing when they put that there.
godknightomega Oh yeah, that happened to me not too long ago. Thankfully I was playing the Android version so I could just reload the quicksave, but man, whoever came up with that great idea was a huge dick, lol.
+MyNamesCody I believe it does fractional damage. Just like how Orphan's Merciless Judgment (from FF13) isn't a game-ending attack. You want a game-ender? Exaflare from Jet Bahamut, Amber Bahamut, and Garnet Bahamut (FF13-2). Unless you're extremely overleveled and using 3 Sentinels, Exaflare = GAME OVER.
There are way harder story bosses. Demonwall anyone? Or the downgraded Ruby Weapon robot, right before you get into the sub (forgot that fuckers name). FF7 is not that easy, especially on the first playthrough.
CrazyCircles1 I thought that boss was easy too... I kind of over levelled, regularly in that game, though haha. I'm talking first, as well. I need to play VII again...
Gettin' jiggy wid it :3 Well, when i played it i was a kid and just played through the story, trust me, without grinding, he is frustrating. Deals a lot, disables your characters completely, like Ruby does, and has boss HP. Demonwall is though but not as though a him.
I remember laughing at Super Nova when I first saw it because it's *targeting Earth* as if any Final Fantasy takes place in our solar system. That a was really bad continuity error. Gaia isn't remotely similar to Earth, they shouldn't have done that because it took away some of the serious atmosphere of the moment the storyline is in.
It's not similar to earth? Nah it's only the personification of earth in the greek mythology. And therefore if it's a planet it is supposed to be Earth. The roman equivalent to that is Terra. Which some refer to as Earth to this day.
Heather Leisure Oh so you're saying that you worked together with all the lore writers from Squaresoft back then. And they then secretly added that attack to Seph without telling you? Understandable.
CrazyCircles1 What are you talking about? I'm talking about the whole intro of Super Nova. It goes through our solar system where the planets are literally named right there on the screen, then it heads towards the little third rock from the sun ... You act like you've never played FF VII
Heather Leisure Yes, and you act like you've not read my previous comment. As i said, it is common to name Earth a different name to create a more fictional feel. Not to speak of all the other mythological names in the game. And yes, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn are also greek/roman gods in ancient mythology. Much like Hades, Ifrit, Shiva etc. Gaia in FF7 is supposed to be Earth. Therefore it is not that unusual.
+Huhbuhduh If you want to get technical, sin is a completely seperate entity from Jecht and Yu Yevon. Sin is merely being controlled by Jecht. Sin at best could be described as genderless.
SonicIce One time, I managed to deal about 139,800 damage to Sin Overdrive; Or whatever amount of damage is necessary to leave him with *"200 HP"*. I was as mad as I was amused.
It's a secret boss that can only be fought if you first death all of the Dark Aeons and then come back to the Calm Place, he has 20,000,000 health as considered one of the toughest bosses in FFX
SonicIce There's a ton of super bosses in FFX, if you didn't end up with all ultimate weapons and 99999 hp you didn't play anywhere near all of FFX! Such a cool game.
SonicIce It is the secret boss called, Penance. You can find it in the: Japanese versionof FFX, or FFX HD Remaster for PS3/Vita/PS4. You unlock this secret boss once after you have conquered all the Dark Aeons, including the Magus Sisters.
The Hungry Troll Thank you for that, in not playing that game for nine years, I'd completely forgotten about that fight, but now, I do remember the frustration of dealing with the incessant attacks.
Firstly, Anima was a cinch. Even dark Anima didn't have much staying power if you were properly leveled. Second, if you were stupid enough to let sin use Giga Graviton, you deserved the game over that came with it. The whole point was to damage him enough to get inside BEFORE he could use it. Malboro Putrid breath was nothing to worry about if you had been smart and protected yourself from the worst of it ahead of time. Even the malboros on FF8 were meaner, AND you couldn't protect yourself from everything then. Super Nova was over-rated, and over-used. Necron was a poser and was easily dealt with. The omega weapon was lengthy but easy so long as you prepared correctly. Penance is difficult, but nothing "Oh Shit!" worthy. All in all, this list is a mockery and a sham. The only reason ANY of these would inspire that sort of a reaction is a simple lack of preparation and a lack of confidence in your characters abilities.
elitebelt Mine tend to be cinematic based, and not during battles.Watching Riku bust through the door in FFX when you are battling the monster was one. Seeing Anima being summoned was more of an "Oh Shit!" moment than actually fighting it. Watching the Eidolons all get summoned at the same time on FF13 was another. I still have a bit of a jumpy persuasion about the adamantoise's on the FF13 series as well.Other ones include seeing Odin destroy Cleyra on FF9, Watching Edea deflect a bullet on FF8, but above all, the most OS moments I had involved the triple triad game on FF8. THAT was brutal at times. That and those damnable Malboros and Bad Breath on FF8.
Tzadeck And here we go with the childishness that I knew was coming. In order to make yourself feel all masculine, you have to ignorantly comment on physical attributes, entirely ignoring the content of the conversation. Moron.
Jarrod W Everyone already understands that if you prepare enough all battles are winnable. Did you need to write a long whiny rant abut it? Your post is you just patting yourself and your big ego on the back. Good job--the world cares so much that you leveled up and got the equipment needed to defeat difficult RPG battles.
Tzadeck Go find somebody who cares about your opinion. I certainly don't. I merely posted my own views on the subject. People are free to care or not as they wish. As for "If you prepare enough, all battles are winnable" crap, yes, that s indeed the case. However, it is also the case that at the point when kefka made the video, he was woefully under-prepared. Also, one of his "Oh Shit" moments resulted from him literally skipping turns until the cinematic happened. If you don't care, then don't waste your time posting. This was meant as a discussion for those who DO care.
In FFX-2, if the party uses a magic attack against Paragon, it will not be long before he casts Big Bang, dealing 99999 damage and removing all buffs from the party. Not even Auto-Life can save you, it is needed to either use a Hero Drink or to use a Songstress' "Magical Mask" or the Psychic's "Magic Guard". The thing is, the boss is really fast and often inflicts nasty status ailments whenever it attacks physcally.
Putrid Breath made the list because of the status ailments, and Stomp rather than Air Tam Storm because Air Tam Storm is affected by materia. It's easy to avoid big damage if you know what to do.
When Sephiroth cast Supernova your party died of old age
lmaoo
+Greendotz Actually they merely get reduced to 1 hp of old age.
i feel that in ffvii remake they will make supernova as instant kill
I hope there's a way to cancel it then >_
Supernova actually is an illusion. Or else that completely counters the plot of destroying the world with a meteor in the first place
>Sees Supernova start
>Goes to use the bathroom
>Goes to get popcorn

finishes the godfather
oh rly? (W-Summon)-(Knights of the round table) + Mimic + Mimic.
You could apply and finish a Bachelor's degree, and even then it wouldn't end. xD
#8 Giga-gravitation was like "we are not even going to show you the damage dealt, just know you got wrecked, GG"
Supersonic Jekkt doesnt give a fuck about that..
+Yin Kirshi jecht*
+Supersonic Lol, right?
>Enough damage to destroy airship
>Damage irrelevant
+Supersonic Otherwise people would think raising their HP to 99999 was the only viable strategy. That's how RPG gamers think these days.
To be fair, my guess is that that attack basically takes all the gravitational force of a black hole and shoves it in your face. You aren't going to live through that.
I think Sin's Giga Graviton should have had a CGI cutscene in which the attack destroyed the airship and blew up a huge portion of land.
i agree, they made it too simple
uhh i think it destroyed the whole world and one of my fav games is ffx and almost 100% did it so im pretty sure the attack destroyed earth (i think not sure)
Sephiroth destroyed the Universe only to deal you 7000 dmg? *facepalm*
Денис Архипов It should have been instant game over.
Supernova was WAY to long of an attack to not kill you. I was more afraid I'd die as a player from the amount of time it took to use the attack and then how many times he'd use the attack if you let him lol
The attack counts as a Gravity attack so it will only deal 15th of 16ths of your health..... That's almost all of it...like 99%
Christian Munso 93.75% actually.
Now we'll never know if there was life on Mars! DX
Ill tell you an "Oh shit" moment.
Getting out of the Gelnika airplane underwater and ramming Emerald Weapon by accident, cause she was camping outside.
+Sérgio Marques lol better have saved....
+Sérgio Marques I had that happen once. Not pleasant.
+Sérgio Marques How about the first moment you get free movement of the submarine, and Emerald's ass is sitting right in front of you. Cue instant battle. Frantically trying to escape... Emerald stomps you for an OHKO.

MissRedHeadedGeek ALOT! xD
Sin is klling an airship = Instant death
Sephiroth dstroying the universe = 7k?
WTF Square Soft?
Sin I think destroys Spira(or just Bevelle) with it. And Supernova is a Gravity based attack. Still, it inflicts alot of bad status effects, so it would most likely kill your party anyways(unless ribbon)
square soft logic
*Sephiroth casts Super Nova*
Cloud and the others sitting in Gaia: oooooohhhhhh pretty lights.....
People of Earth: SHIT ITS THE APOCALYPSE!!
Sephiroth: Shit.... wrong solar system... I missed...
He did a miscalculation in this advanced formula of his. xD
Plays Sephiroth's Super Nova. *goes to make sandwich*
makes a few sandwiches, comes back
"Pluto"
goes to make more
Amen
Gaius the Thief
No, with your SPD, not DEX, you'd come back to:
"Jupiter"
Nice try.
Now Eden? Yeah, you'd be fine.
GamersXnostalgia Amen brother doubly if you decide to summon and mimic knights of the round ontop of that
donkeykong75m Holy crap, 20 minutes of life would would be wasted, lol.
Number one should be when Ozma casts Meteor before you even get a turn.. And if someone survives, the next thing to come is Curse.
Was gonna say "where is Ozma?"
most have never experienced that so it's a toss up
hell, he did it to me only meteor didn't wipe my party out... so someone did an auto life AFTER curse hits
i managed to defeat ozma after 25 tries lol
joel rodriguez Managed to beat that asshole after three tries on my last playthrough :D
Ozma's Meteor usually cant 1hko your party members unless they're afflicted with mini or low on hp. It's usually the killer combo of Curse + Meteor that kills off everyone
For me it's the Dark Magus sisters Delta Attack after stumbling into them before I knew what dark aeons were.
Oh yeah, that too was unexpected:D
did you win?
I was always terrified of Super nova when i first played 7. then once realizing it only deals 90% of your CURRENT HP and cannot actually kill you, definitely took away the epicness of the nap inducing attack.
It's hilarious how Final Fantasy's endgame attacks (for both bosses and characters) end up destroying the galaxy. ***** Unless you live in Canada where it's always winter and there's a blizzard blowing in your face :(
***** They are, it is just logic that makes no sense\ in most video games.
I think that's part of why sin's overdrive just does instant game over
No Griever's Shockwave Pulsar? That can OHKO your entire party if you're not prepared for it.
another "oh shit" moment is when u fight ultima weapon in FF8 but u forgot that there is a hidden save point before the fight!
I love how after Sephiroth finishes unleashing his 1-minute-long-custscene attack the characters are all like "Don't move guys, it's cool"
Actually, it's closer to 2 minutes. Which makes it funnier.
Fucking. Marlboro.
ikr they are the bane of our existence........... them and cactuars
I like how 10 got most of the numbers on this list
4:50
Lol that was a good one!
The 'Oh Shit' moment for Emerald should have been Aire Tam Storm.
+Randomicity912 For some reason it took me way too long to figure out how that damage was calculated....
hahahahahaha I know... Its like mega shit moment!!!
for the longest I thought you had to kill him before he started using it lol
If you minmaxed and know about it, sure. If you don't and you're approaching it the same way you would any other boss...
more like, the first time you're in the sub and accidentally bump into it.
Encountering a Grand Dragon for the first time early in the game outside Gizamaluke's Grotto and getting knocked out after one attack.
why has no-one mentioned the Eden Summon from FFVIII
The first time I saw that 2 minute virtual dmt trip I lost my shit
TMStacks Because the list is for attacks against you, and you never fight against Eden.
Eden's summon is badass, but it took so long that I rarely used it. I preferred Bahamut's Mega Flare, or Quistis' Shockwave Pulsar. Talk about awesome moves.
@@4ndr3c3s4r1n0yep but Eden LV 100 Is doing 50.000 ho damage, i mean Squall's Leonheart (u have to be lucky) Is doing 35.000 damage
@@squall5742 The only way Lionheart is doing 35.000 damage is MAYBE if you're doing a Low Level Run. Lionheart alone should do around 100.000 damage (not counting the Renzokuken itself) if you're playing the usual way.
Pshh bad breath should be #1
Ribbon. Always wear a Ribbon.
+Amiee Ann or do what i did and run like hell
5:42 Stomp?! Are you joking?! Where's Aire Tam Storm and Emerald Beam?!
Searchmeister I know right! Air Tam Storm was feared by me in that fight, then I sussed that Airetam was Materia backwards and the damage inflicted depended on the amount of green Materia you have equipped.
jrossiterI3 it's any materia not just green
jrossiterI3 the idea was not to lvl up materias with Emerald and that sucks xD
+Searchmeister i never realized that aire tam storm was based on materia
+Joseph Skinner Well "aire tam" is "materia" spelled backwards, so there was supposed to be your first clue, but I guess it's a bit encrypted, meaning whoever doesn't figure that out is just sorta screwed because they keep getting 9999'd by Emerald.
What about Seymour's Total Annihilation attack at his battle in Mount Gagazet?
DarkPaladin24 That attack actually fucked me in the ass first time I fought him. Second time, I just blitzed him with my aeons and managed to kill him the very turn before he used it.
Yuna standing on the side like "You wot mate, Bahamut git gud you weak scrub"
sin the real one hit ko
You forgot Crisis Core, Minerva's Judgement Arrow followed by Ultima(late part of the fight).
Supernova's gonna look so epic in the remake.
I wonder if they'll include Pluto though.
I doubt that will be in a remake because it's not realistic at all. It was acceptable in 1997, but not now tho.
ROFL
There's a more simple version in World of Final Fantasy.
john lowe You obviously don't get it then.
john lowe You still don't get it.
Some of these attacks used to go overboard with the cut scenes.
+candice salsberry Especially the super nova I swear that took like 3 minutes -.-
jeff philly lmao. You really needed snacks while playing.
An attractive girl that enjoys final fantasy :O That is a first!
Thank you. You not to bad yourself SpongeBob. Lol. I have been playing since 12 years old. Final Fantasy really help me with my critical thinking in school. Not so much now but still one of my favorite games.
Yeah but you have to be more specific "which" final fantasy? Or all :O
Everyone is forgetting Ultimecia-Griver's Great Attractor.Oh well, everyone probably had move on before she uses that attack.
No actually but u can survive It... U have to use protect and curaga After. Terrebreak even if u have protect One shots everyone, the Only whay Is to have Hero Heal (or Hero/Witch sierum im from Italy so the game says Siero dell'eroe/del mago for me)
How is #1 not Ozma's Meteor? o_o
you mean doom day?. easy if you have fire eater
1. Doomsday is Darkness Element, not Fire.
2. Meteor is a non-elemental spell and pretty much guaranteed instant death on the party. Nothing blocks it.
Judging by what the person considers difficult he probably isn't good enough to fight Ozma frankly
toreyzyre I had more trouble with Hades than I did ozma.
ozma was up till now the most easiest super boss i have ever fought i beat it on the first try he did about 4 turns max before he died that in my book is no superboss excluding FFVIII omega weapon when u defeat it with aura method its just laughable but without it actually fun and hard boss.
Final Fantasy VI: Tower of Fanatics, 100 floors, no saves, Magi Master's ULTIMA!!
+donbasuradenuevo And moogle charm.... O.o
+donbasuradenuevo Just use the moogle charm, no encounters :D
jeff philly Not many people use the moogle charm the first time they go to the tower!
Magic Urn and the Magic Levels all count towards the tally.
my "oh shit" moment is when bhunivelze uses hypernova in lightning returns
all malboro's bad breath are "oh shit" xD
What about in FF8 when Seifer cut Odin in half? That was completely out of left field.
+GrahamChapman The Floating Continent IS A SHIT. That monsters... OH God, that monsters! I really hate this part of the game.
Yeah but ffvi is too good for this channel im guessing since only really 2 final fantasys were on here the other 2 just cameoed for them
"the supernova was ferocious, destroyed a solar system just to hit you with a dosage"
-Mage Ran
Terra Break by Omega weapon in FFVIII was a really big oh shit moment, only way to survive it was to have heroes or angelo moon, without those terra break is a instant game over
***** it was my first run through on FF8, luckily now, i'm a lot more experienced in boss battles
OH god...
During Sephiroth's Supernova I always use the escape animation so it look like they running way from the explosion, so hilarious!
Emerald Weapon's stomp isn't a oh shit moment, Emerald Weapons Aire Tam Storm is a oh shit moment.
If EW's stomp is an oh shit moment, then im the king of pluto. >.>
I was gonna say the same thing.
Who designed super nova was high af.
The biggest 'Oh Shit' moment for me was playing FF14 at launch and thinking "Oh, this is shit".
for me , "oh shit " moment in FFXIV is Ppl can not pass phase 1 of shinryu EX
2:15 = Ok. Defences up, Full HP, bring on your special!
*Sin uses Giga-Gravitation on the entire Airship!*
'Instant Game Over*
... .. ... ... WHA!?
#6 Supernova is so over the top lol
Fun Fact: It was actually a relatively short and uneventful attack in the original version. When they brought it to America, they decided to make it more "dramatic"
Dynamite Grizzly It was very dramatic... But Sephiroth blows up the sun. Game fucking over. YOU LOSE.
734 billion damage op
Wolfgang Siegfried also little payoff as it does like 3000 damage which my characters survive with ease
Wolfgang Siegfried It's nonsense.
haha i love it when wakka says " ow ow"
The real "oh shit" moments in ff are when ur forced into battle, while still under-leveled, or not equipped right and u have to watch ur party die, while trying to remember when the last time u saved was... Or when u play a boss for the first time without a guide, and u can't figure out why u fucking die all the time (for example me fighting yunalesca for the 3rd time in a row, not realizing that she automatically kills everyone not in zombie mode while switching between 2nd and 3rd form... "wtf?"...)
this is why i always save every time i get a chance
How did ozma's ff9 curse or doomsday not get in this video is beyond me lol
My biggest wtf moment:
Final Fantasy 12, killed thw chocobos in the ozmone plains, went to a mob and when i came back a red chocobo lvl 99 killed me 1-hit.
+Silver Twinkle Same thing happened to me and I haven't saved in over 2 hours :(
How about Ozma's Meteor or Behemoth meteor COUNTER in FFIX?
Grand Cross was a pain in the ass
Emerald weapons Aire Tam Storm was worse than stomp.
my Moments were always when the Red Dragon in ff8 used his breath ;)
stomp from emerald weapon? Did u make a mistake?
Emerald's Air storm should've taken that spot. When I first saw it, it insta-killed my entire party.
yes aire storm, but the video is showing "storm" which is his normal attack
aire tam break, as aire tam backwards is materia, or 1111 damage per materia equipped
Final Fantasy X had the most amount of "WTFs" haha
+Conner I know right? From Rikku's strip scene to Yunalesca's Hellbiter + Mega Death
My biggest OH SHIT moment in Final Fantasy is when I was playing Lightning Returns and I saw a dark cloud throwing lightnings around the field and I thought it would be wise to attack it. It turns out it was a superboss.
Supernova is an overrated attack, it cant kill you and doesnt fuck with your status, so long as you keep an eye out for it its basically a waste of an attack from Sephiroth, also its stupid that it was ramped up so much outside of Japan, that attack would DESTROY THE WORLD and ruin Sephiroth's own plan in using it
It can kill you in the original japanese version.
then that's how they should have kept it, someone on Steam should try to make a mod inserting the original Supernova into the systems AI
it can confuse you.
It wouldn't really have foiled Sephiroth's plans. He was going to destroy the world anyway with the black materia's spell Meteor.
MSOGameShow Erm...No he wasn't. I think you need to play the game again and actually pay attention.
I was actually hoping for the "oh shit!" voice to be there
FFXII had a couple for me, Yiazmat spamming Death Strike was a bit of an OH SHIT! moment, and the best one which I just had to laugh at when I just escaped with a single party member left with double-digit HP, was when I first encountered a magic pot in the depths of the Pharos and accidentally hit it.
+sonicwingnut FF XII Zodiark and his Darkja over n over again -.-
FFIX oh, shit! moment would be... leaving Gizamaluke's dungeon halfway through...
you're on disc 1 (lvl 7-15 party) and climbing that stair will give you grand dragons, lvl 50-ish.
again, mid-dungeon, not far into the game. many have just taken comfort in the exploration feeling at this point.
(yay for FFIX on Steam btw!)
With the help of Quina, you can beat him. Before fighting the dragon, let Quina die in a normal encounter battle. then revive him with items and hope that he'll be revived with 1HP
if you have done this, climb up the ladder and fight the dragon. Use that lightning attack of Quina to deal 9999 damage (because he has 1HP) and use it once more. You just have to hope that the dragon doesn't kill Quina.
If you beat the lvl 50 dragon successfully, have fun with your 9000exp for everyone.
Level 10 -> Level 18-20 instantly
+Ness "Okay" you forgot the protecting rings ;)
Ive never seen that last boss in ffx. What part of the game is that?
Albert Lacen I think the community has dubed these type of bosses super bosses. They are not required to beat the game and are sub-stantually harder than anything required in the story. Penance to be is the most difficult boss in Final Fantasy if you dont do the Aeon 1 shot strat. Its not so much that strategically he is the most demanding but the stats you require is insane.
To me FFX has the most interesting story boss for a challenge run which is Evrae in the NSGNONCNBBNS challenge run.
once u beat penance, all the other bosses in ffx are like kittens
complete story line defeat all monsters in arena ( inclusive nemesis) then board airship go outside the ship battle stars! think that was what you needed to do! not sure! it's been a while since i played ffx
Goodluck haha
jLyf Then how do you meet up with dark aeons?
I like how the supernova move basicay says "yes ff does take place in a solar system within the milky way, where we live"
Big Bang from FF4 Final Boss
So true. The first time I played the game I spent the whole time healing until he ran off
Shinryu from V lies in a normal chest in the final area, he got a back attack on me, opened with Tidal Wave and dealt 8000 damage to my party member who had 3000 max hp
+Huhbuhduh Yeah Darkkefka has that moment on his "Top 10 WTF Moments" countdown for Final Fantasy. Check it out.
I get the feeling that Sephiroth's Super Nova was supposed to be instant game over. Seeing as he destroyed the entire solar system to do damage to your party.
watching hp of yiazmat for the first time was oh shit momnt
Anima is the most bad ass summon EVER, nights of the round don't have shit on her!
well... Actually anima is a cool summon... But Bahamut Zero. Zodiark. Eden and Ark are better ;)
Bahamut's "Impulse" is also an "Oh shit" moment, if you're not prepared.
i give you my respect, you know that Anima is a chick.
In final fantasy x, How did you get your HP to 99999?
Customize your armour with 30 wings to discovery to break HP limit... then max characters on sphere grid i.e replacing ALL hp nodes that arent 400 with hp 400 nodes... then use rikku's overdrive to double hp on party...
Ok i will try that if I ever come close to having those things
+john lowe actually a lot of people max hp in ffx... just check youtube videos. It's not that hard, u can do it in less than 100 hours
Terra Break just use skill defend
Thankfully I was playing the Android version so I could just reload the quicksave, but man, whoever came up with that great idea was a huge dick, lol.
could get a snack with the amount of time super nova took.
lmao super nova...how isnt that a game ender
+MyNamesCody I believe it does fractional damage. Just like how Orphan's Merciless Judgment (from FF13) isn't a game-ending attack.
You want a game-ender? Exaflare from Jet Bahamut, Amber Bahamut, and Garnet Bahamut (FF13-2). Unless you're extremely overleveled and using 3 Sentinels, Exaflare = GAME OVER.
sIeepingmonster Just the solar system, not the galaxy.
yup getting stomped by Emerald Weapon qualifies as an "Oh Shit!" moment. bc thats the reaction i got from seeing it. nearly spat out my cereal too
Final fantasy: when the shit hits the fan.
The one thing I love about final fantasy games is that the bosses be so unpredictable and intimidating :)
Anima...... COOLEST. SUMMON. EVER!!
FF VIII Omega weapon. Without heros you're screwed.
Sephiroth wasn't even that hard... FF VII seemed easy in comparison to the others, but damn it was fun, and fair.
CrazyCircles1 Fuck it, I'm playing VII right this second!
Gettin' jiggy wid it :3 Ha, nice one. With or without Tifa's Bootleg?
I think I audibly said "oh shit!" when Seifer cut Odin in half in FF8. That was some super serious bullshit.
CrazyCircles1 It's still not Earth set in this exact solar system
WTF sin giga-gravitation = insta game over !?!
+Jean-Simon Tremblay yes becasue destroy Spira. You must defeat until her orange bar is complete.
ah ok xD
+StarrySkykes Why are you calling Sin "her"?
In FFX, Sin is controlled by Jecht, a male, and Yu Yevon, also a male. If anything, Sin is a "he".
+Huhbuhduh probably just because a lot of monster things are referred to as "her".
+Huhbuhduh If you want to get technical, sin is a completely seperate entity from Jecht and Yu Yevon. Sin is merely being controlled by Jecht. Sin at best could be described as genderless.
Anybody wonder what it actually felt like to get stomped on by Emerald Weapon from the party's perspective?
I played all of X what was the last one??? An yeah gigs gravitation Sin was a pain in the ÷_%÷€
SonicIce One time, I managed to deal about 139,800 damage to Sin Overdrive; Or whatever amount of damage is necessary to leave him with *"200 HP"*.
Lol I get what you mean but son didn't experience a lot of the endgame and secrets. That is pretty impressive though.
The only special thing about Supernova is that he blew up the entire solar system just for you. You should feel special.
I think Zodiark (FF XII) should have made this list, he is so annoying with that Darkja spell over n over n fucking over again >>.
+jeff philly ultima was pretty epic too with all that guns and cannon that she hides under her dress
The Hungry Troll Thank you for that, in not playing that game for nine years, I'd completely forgotten about that fight, but now, I do remember the frustration of dealing with the incessant attacks.
2:44 The most famous boss move in all of video game history!
Ok, then what would YOUR "Oh shit" moments be, hm?
elitebelt
Mine tend to be cinematic based, and not during battles.Watching Riku bust through the door in FFX when you are battling the monster was one.
Tzadeck
And here we go with the childishness that I knew was coming.
Tzadeck
Go find somebody who cares about your opinion.
Nothing is more traumatizing than Morbol signature, being OS is one thing but seeing your whole party TRYING to kill itself is another thing :(
In FFX-2, if the party uses a magic attack against Paragon, it will not be long before he casts Big Bang, dealing 99999 damage and removing all buffs from the party. Not even Auto-Life can save you, it is needed to either use a Hero Drink or to use a Songstress' "Magical Mask" or the Psychic's "Magic Guard". The thing is, the boss is really fast and often inflicts nasty status ailments whenever it attacks physcally.
I feel like you missed a big one from Kefka in ff6. There is nothing quite like the panic the first time you experience fallen one.
4:52 Oh god my left ear is dying
Sephoroth was one of the easiest final bosses I've ever faced. I can't imagine anyone goin oh shit to him.
Number one should be the first time you ever encountered a tomberry and when it finally does damage it does 9999 and you're just like WTF???
In reference to this video... your username is very appropriate.
What about Grand Dragon, Proto-Babil's Globe 199, Malboro's Bad Breath, Bracosaur's Ultima and Disaster attack and Ozma's Curse and Meteor?
I missed that fight with the bahamut, I don't think that I have ever found that boss.
Putrid Breath made the list because of the status ailments, and Stomp rather than Air Tam Storm because Air Tam Storm is affected by materia. It's easy to avoid big damage if you know what to do.
