that's disrespectful to the sport of boxing to think Conor can beat a boxer in a boxing ring. they are two different sports. Floyd's been a pure boxer since the age of 3. and has been p4p champ for more than 10 years with the greatest defense in boxing history. this fight makes no sense except for money

Naw bruh.....its a well known fact with most skilled fighters.....the hands travel a whole lot faster than the feet do. Not only that it takes longer to reset the body after a kick versus resetting the body after a punch. If most of these Fighters can't reach Floyd Mayweather with their hands they definitely not going to reach through his defense with their feet. For Skip to think Conner could stand a chance boxing Floyd shows how much of a hater he is. I like Skip but its obvious what he's biased about and it make him look bitter sometimes. No one in there right mind, that knows anything about boxing or MMA no matter if you like Floyd or not believes McGregor can beat Floyd in a BOXING match. Conor couldn't beat a top 50 boxer let alone someone the level of Floyd. Skip is ridiculous even by his own standards here. I heard a boxing trainer who saw Conor get dominated in sparring by club level boxers.

all orthodox analyze their opponents and counter attack you to win matches. This make the opponents go crazy and Conor is not a guy that can take out defensive fighters.
Statistics wise most boxers win bouts against mma fighters and even other fighters from disciplines beat mma fighters such as Brock lesner, Butterbean, Holms who practice both boxing and mix martial arts defeated Rousey,etc.
Conor is good in mma but in boxing especially you started that discipline and you want to fight the most talk about man in boxing who shut all his opponents except for his junior fight buddy who defeated him once.
Conor would lose for sure, but I agree with Skip that it wouldn't be as lopsided as everyone thinks. Nate Diaz's biggest strength is his boxing, he trains with Andre Ward, who's 30-0 in boxing. Andre has said that Nate can hang with him while sparing. And Conor outboxed Nate for most of their fights. Add on top of that Conor has the best reaction time in MMA and Floyd is pushin 40, doesn't train as hard and has lost some speed, it seems more interesting (on paper anyway)

As for Floyd he not going to go first like for instance go at him first. Floyd always does that and analyzes his opponents and wait for the right moment to dodge and counter hit his opponents.

It's so weird because Dana and Conor seem confused as to why Floyd wants a boxing match. It's pretty obvious he wants it to be his next BOXING match for his 50th victory, not some weird cross-sport spectacle like the Ali match. That would make the most sense since obviously Floyd can't fight MMA and isn't claiming to. Floyd is inviting Conor to have a boxing match because if it's not a full boxing match it won't count towards his record

the 120z gloves would change everything, the windows are different, the defense Floyd plays wont work with McGregor. McGregor is explosive and quick and accurate. Not diminishing Floyd skills but i think he's effect inside the particular game he plays, once the gloves get small and Conor is standing in front of him going in and out a traditional martial arts stance to boxing the parameters change they probably would be equal in the bout. I think its fair if they settle at 14oz gloves just hands. McGregor is just to good with his legs it wouldn't be fair.
Yeah man, and then there's foot movement and body positioning Floyd would be completely bewildered by. When you have a guy who uses martial arts movements, the angles and distances are very different. It could be the x-factor. Watch how martial artist close the distance. It's way different than a traditional boxer's movements. It's much faster, in fact.
for sure, conor uses a karate style darts in and out and has very effective accurate strikes. It just takes one with those gloves. Conor is not a small guy either he is bigger than floyd. We've seen what one left hand does to little guys in UFC. Its a totally different ball game for floyd.

Don't read much do you? You completely missed the point. Conor moves like a martial artist, not a boxer. It would take Floyd out of his element. Martial artists can close the distance very fast and from longer ranges. Floyd is not a complete fighter. He's a boxer. He's not just limited by his lack of martial art styles, but by body positioning and footwork familiar to other fighters who usual martial arts. It's completely different. Everyone is talking about how Conor has never fought anyone like Floyd, but Floyd has never faces a martial artist, much less a Conor, who is very very good at finding his range and landing punches.
Small gloves would make it different for floyd because he counts on the Philly shell and the glove size to shield him, so who knows and if their are any kicks involved he'd be ate alive using that stance

However, consider this. even if this is a boxing match, it dont mean that conor will be boxing like the rest. Look att his fight against jose aldo. He moves around alot, and counters him coming in and knocks him out. Floyd will not know how to respond to that, the unfamiliar stand, and is likely to fall back and take a defensive approach. Then conor, who is fast and long can hit floyd from a distance, forcing him to go on the offensive, and land that left hand.
