      Did you pick this chip, because you had it in your stock ? Just asking because MAX485s are more common this side of the ocean.

      Thanks you very much for the praise! But hold your horses ... there will be one more "The Basics" video next week and then we'll go into "The Details". Topics I plan to cover so far: Timeouts, multiple slaves / addressing (of course), active termination / biased lines, fail-safe receivers, full-duplex busses. So far that should fit into 3 to 4 videos 😅

      @ Yes, I picked it. Not for it's performance/features, but because it was the cheapest one that came in a 8-DIP package for breadboard demonstrations 😅 Plus, the SN75176B is a classic - released in the 1980's and uses TTL logic. There are much better RS-485 transceivers available.
