Reminds me of when I listened to this song on DXM and DPH when I was young. Yes, I know it was stupid but god damn, the waking dreams were vivid as fuck thanks to this song. I remember going to these grassy hills marching with people carrying lanterns on sticks, looking like the lemmings from the video game 'Lemmings". The environment reminded me of this one summer camp I used to go to as a kid. Shit was pretty dank.
Mind blowing, an epic album and my favourite because of such happy memories of the early 90's, I saw them do the entire album at Rock City Nottingham downstairs in the basement, they sould of been upstairs on the main stage the sounds they were producing. Happy Days
Some timestamps: 00:00 - Relaxed chillout part, imagine lying in the grass watching the sky 04:20 - introduction of the story, thinking about childhood memories coming back 08:25 - Epic Arabic sounding trance music! May it never stop... 16:00 - That epic lucid dream is over. Wake up and continue your ride... 20:00 - pop polololopo po po and more 24:00 - uhm, this is just the track "Porcupine tree - it's not", or is it not? 32:00 - Wake up from the trance the song got you into!
24:00 - uhm, this is just the track "Porcupine tree - it's not", or is it not? >> The electricity is a lot more present in this version, at least. Strings are also more powerful. And they added / unmuted guitars and some more percussions.
there is always a reference to Pink floyd in a video of TSMS ... you did it ... when i bought this in 95, i was not thinking, "omg it is like PF ... " i loved it as it is : it was so awesome ...
Sky Moves Sideways is by far most proggy piece by Porcupine Tree and this is the best version of it.
Incredible...what a journey.
This was just astounding. I love porcupine tree, but this one really scratched my soul.
Best band most people never heard of.

The first 4 minute-sequence is one long love affair with David Gilmour :-)

11:02 classical turkish music...
euphoria!
Jau!
The original Sky is better in my opinion.
11:01 too much middle eastern.
Wow. That is an odd reaction. I am not criticizing you, I just think that is an odd reaction to the music.
haha I was struggling with my English at that time I guess. I was trying to say that part had middle eastern influences. I am from middle east myself
