This definitely really really helps beginners to train their ears on tuning drums
Im buying this right now, thank you sir
What a great app ! Very clever.
Thanks for sharing ;)
Very helpful, gonna buy the app.
Smart App......Well done!!!!
Neat! Since I’m a beginner I have no idea what it “should” sound like by-ear.
I assume a Drum Tuner would help too.
Thanks.
Personally it’s faster to tune by the loudest residence that follows tightening after getting rid of wrinkles. That is what the natural tone is for that inch. Regardless of what note it is the human ear can pick it up faster than adjusting all of those. I also discovered you can use your guitar clamp on tuner on the rim and it works just as well. You also don’t have to fight background noise interfering with your microphone.
Is this app is good to tune salsa cowbells to find the pitch? C Or D de example
How do we turn the bottom heads?
How do we turn the bottle!
How do i change it to 8 lug?
Can you tune a 12-lug frame drum with it?
What about the resonant head?
What about resonant head tuning
Desafinado!
The problem I have with drum tuning ( with any app ) is none of you guys mention if the bottom skin is dampened or let ring , because you get a totally different tuning either way ! , so if i damped say the bottom skin and tune the top ( for example on a 10 inch drum Tom) at 220, , if then I try the drum with both ringing , then the tuning is a lot lower ! , and that’s tuning both skins the same ( 220 ) , it’s a bit like tuning only 3 strings on a guitar and then strumming a chord , totally out , so how about this massive issue / topic is covered ? Because nobody yet has covered it . Cheers
Your point is a good one. There is an app Drumtune PRO. They specifically say not to dampen bottom opposite head and it works very well. I have had bad experiences with these tuners but this one seems to work very consistently. I am not associated with the product but the problem you highlighted is something I had issues with and found a reasonable solution. It registers fundamental with both heads resonating which is what it should do. Traditionally the frequency detectors on these things were not up for filtering out all the cross frequency on a drum but this one is very good. I guess the technology is getting better across the board
Depending on your heads but typically a good start is equal turns to both resonate and batter head as the resonate head will naturally tend to be slightly high cause its thinner.
Is that BIMM London?
No, it’s the Westminster University studio.
@@RecordProduction thanks, very cool video btw
