Sorry you. You lost the best Babymetal performance ever, that was the 2015 show, with Yui Mizuno. That is with the Avengers, who replaced Yui. Not even close. And that wasn't Kami Band too. Sorry, you lost.

The 2015 Live in Japan (Makuhari Messe) is definitely the best performance of Road of Resistance, especially considering it was the debut of the song in Japan and first time in a large arena. But this 2020 Metal Galaxy performance is definitely also one of the best performances of it as well!

Great reaction - and there is nothing wrong with doing this version, with all 3 Avengers and both the Kami Bands of East and West (4 lead guitars, 2 bassists and 2 incredible drummers) all on stage with Su and Moa it was an epic performance, but watch the 2015 one for yourselves anyway.
'Road of Resistance' actually had its world debut in London in 2014 before it even had a name and even though absolutely nobody had heard it before the UK crowd all joined in with the chanting on Su's command.
Well spotted with the DragonForce guitar work. They have played this on stage with Su, Moa and Yui at an awards show (Hammer of the Gods?) in London in 2015 - that is on UA-cam (not the best quality video, but its a fun one) if you're interested - they did 'Gimme Chocolate' too.
Ignore the haters with their salty tears. Metal doesn't have to be all growls, screams and vomit noises. The fact is that BABYMETAL are original and unique, they don't just follow the same old tired format and brought something new to become one of the absolute best live performance acts on the planet - these "little Japanese girls" have talent and kick arse.

agreed about ignoring the haters. they seem to forget or flat-out ignore the fact that some of the most iconic and respected rock songs in existence feature vocalists that actually sang rather than use growls, screams and vomit noises. hell, Rob Zombie himself has come to their defense on more than one occasion. Rob Halford of Judas Priest has sang with them onstage, and Korn has played along with them a few times.

this is not the 2015 concert. this is from 2020. after Yui left they had three avengers, Kano, Momoko and Riho, to take turns with Moa and Su. also when they started touring the east Kami band couldnt go so they had another band, west Kami band. for this song they had all three avengers and had both bands. that means 5 on stage, 4 guitarists, 2 bassists, and 2 drummers. the band in black is the west and the ones in white is the east Kami.

The haters can't take away the recognition BabyMetal has received over the years. From a very young age, they dared go where no others had gone before. The greatest metal bands in the world don't say a thing about the girls not playing instruments when praising them. They don't need to when they have world class musicians playing behind them. Not playing instruments didn't stop voters from naming BabyMetal the 10th greatest METAL band of all-time. Whether it is 1,2,3,4 or 5 of these "little Japanese girls" (as I have read some referring to them in a condescending manner) on stage, they have more energy than 90% of those that came AFTER them.

About the 5 girls: for the legend S show in december 2017, Yui was advised by the doctor to not perform due to her bad health condition, and she went on an hiatus trying to recover. During the 2018 tour BabyMetal hired 2 support dancers to take Yui's spot, and BabyMetal had a 4 member team. At the end of 2018 Yui announced that with much regret she couldn't resolve her health issues, so she would be leaving BabyMetal. At that time for the Dark Night Carnival show BabyMetal performed with 5 support dancers toghether with SU and MOA for a grand totale of 7 girls on stage, but after that they Went Back to being 3 girls on stage with Saya being a supporting dancer for an Asian and Australian tour. At the beginning of 2019 it was announced that BabyMetal would have 3 supporting dancers rotating on the 3rd spot, Kano, Riho and Momoko. For 2 very special songs at the end of this 2020 Legend Metal Galaxy show all 3 the supporting dancers were on stage :)
It is to be noted that since Yui left, her Microphone hasn't been given to anyone. Only Moa and SU can sing, the others only dance!

"You'd never get that in England!" Babymetal can and did at Sonisphere 2014 (Knebworth). The opening of Ijime, Dame, Zettai calls for a Wall of Death and that is what they got. It was the last song of their 30 minute set and their first Western metal festival.

This was the encore for the Legend Metal Galaxy Day 1 concert, performed on January 25th 2020 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba.

Starting with their first concert in 2019, they introduced three supporting dancers known as avengers.
Generally there is one avenger per show supporting Su and Moa.
For a few special shows there have been more than one.
At the LA Forum show in October 2019, Momoko and Riho alternated every few songs.
For the two LEGEND - METAL GALAXY shows in January 2020, Momoko, Riho and Kano alternated throughout the night.
All three avengers were on stage for the encore song each night.
Those were 'Road of Resistance' the first night, and 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' the second night.

As many people have said already that this is 2020 and strangely enough I watched this whole concert at 7.30 this morning (couldn't sleep) so was delighted when I saw you were covering this. The band is the 'Kami Band West' (mostly American musicians) who are excellent. Maybe your next could be from this concert too 'Papaya' as I suggested previously or 'Night Night Burn' - one of my personal favourites as it has Latino vibes which are also represented in the choreography! Or maybe the song written for the fans- 'The One' - that's quite emotional too. And I concur as I said before - I feel very proud and protective of them just as you are! Take good care of yourselves. This is day 2 of legend metal galaxy show.
Day 1 was Eastern Kami's with the three avengers switching in and out.
Day 2 was western Kami's with avengers switching till the final couple songs where they had both Kami bands and all avengers on stage.

GJ on the reaction. This was the definition of an epic performance. That was an all hands on deck performance. All 3 back up dancers known as the avengers (Riho, Kano and Momoko). Plus the East and West Kamiband. Something to keep in mind for the future there is no such thing as the wrong Babymetal concert. Only the one I wanted to show you instead. I got to say this version is a treat. They all did seem so very happy. Having everyone on stage together IMO made Su a little giddy at the end. Their mosh pits are called Mosh'sh Pits Means a friendlier mosh pit and it shows. As far as which songs you personally like that's up to you. As long as they're Babymetal songs it's all good. I think it may be time for a Babymetal duo. Yui and Moa have four songs they did together. One of them is called 4 No Uta. They actually wrote the lyrics on the tour bus as the story goes. It's been told that Su gave them a project. She gave them a subject and they wrote the lyrics based on that. Check that out and you'll get to see Yui and Moa being too Kawaii. Enjoy the rest of your journey through the Babymetal galaxy of music.

This was the end of the 2019-2020 Metal Galaxy world tour, so there was a lot of emotion and probably relief at being back home as well, they did have a few more dates scheduled for Asia but they were cancelled due to covid. I don't have a thing for Japanese bands as such or for female bands but this team just tick all the boxes for me, the music is metal the songs are melodic catchy and well written with enough technical elements to satisfy someone that enjoys good musicianship, the band are all awesome and always play their best. The girls are talented and charismatic always give 100% they clearly respect their fans and it shows. The concerts are amazing lighting, pyro, stage design always on point and no expense spared, in fact they often sacrifice more ticket sales to allow them to have stage designs that let everyone have a decent view of the stage, something they don't have to do as their concerts always sell out. So yeah if anyone else of any race or gender were to this standard I would be just as into them also, but sadly few bands do put in this kind of effort and the ones that do also reap the rewards, it isn't cheap to go to concerts anymore and the public deserve bang for their buck which is something you always get with Babymetal 🤘🦊🤘

2019 Glastonbury Festival:-

Loved this version of the song, just because they had all 3 avengers on stage with Su and Moa. Fun fact, at the time of this performance Kano, the dancer who was closest to Su that wasn't Moa, was only 15 years old and was the current student council president of Sakura Gakuin (the Japanese idol group Babymetal originated from and was a position that both Su and Moa held during their time with the group before they graduated).
As for the next Babymetal song, you should react to No Rain No Rainbow. Its a Su solo song and is more of a ballad than metal song, but its one of those song you can tell Su puts all her emotion into (specially the Legend S/Baptism XX version where you can visually see her with tears starting to well up in her eyes). Its one of those kind of songs that doesn't need anything fancy to be amazing.

Great reaction again from you and no worries about the mix up with the version lol. Both, the 2015 and the 2020 version are epic for different reasons. The 2020 certainly stands out for having all three avengers and both Kami bands (the east and the west Kamis) on stage, whereby the 2015 has Yui (obviously and still missed dearly) and more crowd chanting but both are exceptional and amazing. Whilst RoR is not in my top 5 Babymetal songs right now, I still enjoy watching it immensely. What song next? “Karate” might be a good choice, or if you want something really heavy “Sis Anger” (that’s a Black Babymetal song, meaning it is just Yui and Moa, without Su). I am looking forward to your next reaction!

Great & thanks agarin from Japan 有難う💛。Shannon's Japanese pronunciation is almost perfect 👌。 I appreciate your selecting this version because I witnessed it at the venue on Jan.25 last year. As other viewers commented below, this performance was very special. Su, Moa, 3 Avengers and 2 Kami Bands (East & West) are all on the same stage for the first time (total 13 artists) . When 5 girls showed up, my heartbeat stopped for a second. After the show, my wife told me that I was shouting "No Way!" 100 times like an idiot. If I had witnessed it in front of the stage, I would have been carried away on a stretcher or in a body bag 😄.

Great reaction the 2015 version is epic as well . You need to watch Su more carfully especially the newer songs you will catch her smiling and having fun a lot more . Did you notice the smile on Su's face on the last note Su hit which she held for a very long time . A song i think you would enjoy is Ijime Dame Zettai

There are 5 girls here cos .... originally there were 3. 1 of them left in 2018. They replaced her with 3 dancers who they rotated for shows so they'd always still have 3. These 3 rotating dancers were called the Avengers.
For this song in this show, people were debating who would or should be the 3rd girl. And they blew it out of the water by putting all 5 girls on. 1st time ever. And probably last. :)
And you get Dragonforce vibes cos they literally wrote and recorded the guitar sections for this song for the original studio version. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! As others have mentioned, this was a special performance in 2020, which is why there were 5 girls on stage. Yeah, Su does mostly stay in character on stage, but during crowd interaction moments like the ending here you'll often see her drop the facade and let her genuine joy show. And it's great! If you _want_ to hear something heavier from BM, I'd suggest checking out Sis Anger, which is a Black Babymetal song (Yui and Moa only, to complement the Su solos like Rondo of Nightmare). If you don't want to go too heavy, perhaps Onedari Daisakusen would suit. Cheers!

Also, probably someone in the comment has already mentioned this, but the BabyMetal future is uncertain. They recently announced (in not so many words) a hiatus of sorts. No one is really sure exactly what they meant, but it seems it might be a while before they start performing again. I know you mentioned wanting to see them live. It's gonna be a while & it's something I'm kicking myself for not having done myself. One day, hopefully.
If you're looking to do another BM reaction, may I suggest "The One: Stairway to Living Legend". (I'll include the link below - hope it comes through!). It basically serves as a farewell of sorts, it was their announcement of them taking a break. Which seeing as they've been doing this for 10 years & are barely in their twenties, I think they've earned the time to just be normal people for a while. Quite a unique video & beautiful performance.

This concert is from Metal Galaxy 2020. Yui-metal left babymetal in 2018, the original members that are in here is Su-metal and Moa-metal. The other 3 girls are backup dancers, they are called "The Avengers" consist of Riho, Kano, and Momoko .. Also the lead guitarist of babymetal 'Mikio Fujioka' died in 2018 .. I was excited when I see the title "Road of Resistance live in 2015" because it was the best Road of Resistance performance with the original members. But you play the video and it's not. But this one is good too ..

A super underrated song that not many react to from Babymetal is Su's cover of Tamashii no Refrain from their "Legend 1997" concert. That song is a famous song from the Evangelion anime and its a very famous song but the metal version that Babymetal did with Su back when she was like 15/16 was imo better than the original .

People who dictate whether you can enjoy a band/song based on how heavy they think it is over the quality/entertainment/and skill are just immature and insecure. I listen to tons of very heavy death metal yet BABYMETAL is hands down one of my favorite bands ever and some of my favorite concerts of all time. Also...anyone who thinks they aren't heavy has clearly not seen much of their stuff, they have some songs and concert moments that are legit some of the most brutal and "metal" things I've ever seen. It's all done with a tongue in cheek approach but their BABYMETAL Death intros back in the day are super heavy and they have done so stage props and productions that rival Rammstein and Slipknot and Iron Maiden and so on.

agreed about ignoring the haters. they seem to forget or flat-out ignore the fact that some of the most iconic and respected rock songs in existence feature vocalists that actually sang rather than use growls, screams and vomit noises. hell, Rob Zombie himself has come to their defense on more than one occasion. Rob Halford of Judas Priest has sang with them onstage, and Korn has played along with them a few times.

Also this not being the 2015 show is alright, if there was another performance worth watching of this song it's this one. I wouldn't have recommended it because the presence of the other girls would have been confusing. Yui Metal leaves the group in 2017 and eventually they bring on 3 girls called the Avengers to fill in for Yui's spot, they dance but don't sing. If I am not mistaken this show is where they introduced the Avengers and I believe it is also the same show where they introduced the Western Kami band. These are the band members you see in black and they are on stage performing with the Eastern Kami Band, the ones in white (AKA the original Kamis) which is epic!

This version makes me sad as it just isnt the same without our Yui-Bot! Still a excellent performance of course... Just incase nobody else mentioned it already (Im sure someone or some dozen of people did... lol) the other girls in this show are the 'Avengers'. This was a rare occurrence where they all performed together - rather than just one filling in Yui's spot.
I've noticed over the years the only people who tend to dismiss Babymetal or claim they are not real metal etc just dont fully appreciate music and or live performance. They have a singular appreciation/taste and anything outside that little box sucks to them. Babymetal displaying that initial perception and charm of cutsey little Japanese girls clashes with that traditional hardcore "metal" mentality and the "purists" just cant see beyond that small aspect of the entire Babymetal package. Good music is good music, regardless of the packaging!
Another excuse some use to dismiss them is that 95% of their songs are in Japanese. I've Been listening to them for years, and still dont know the english lyrics for more than half their songs, but I dont need to! I enjoy them just as much and in some cases even more so than those I do know what they are talking about ! (Give me chocolate lol)...
Its all about the performance, the music, and the vocal tones - all of which when done with heart express more than word definitions do anyway. Yui and Moa stole my soul long ago, all the while Su keeps me hypnotized with that beautiful voice.
