- Rotem Benaim had the distinct z'chus of having his Bar Mitzvah aliya in 770 at the Rebbe's minyan, on Tes Shvat, 5751. Prior to his Bar Mitzvah he went to the Rebbe for Sunday Dollars to recieve the Rebbe's brocho. The film continues with Shacharis and Krias HaTorah, with the Rebbe leaving shul at minute 20:30. I met him once. Very kind, very nice, very intelligent, and very wise. He was like a grandfather to me, and I miss him. Our conversation was not the typical orthopractic questions. I've got one of these Sunday dollars from a research paper I did in 1988. As a Traditional Catholic, I was well-received by nearly everyone I encountered in Crown Heights, except for a car full of Caribbean kids who yelled anti-Semitic slurs and tossed a McDonald's milkshake at me. Although we couldn't be further apart with religious beliefs, I found much in common with moral standards. My thanks to the two families who allowed me to spend Shabbos with them.

This was not Shabbos...they would not have on tefillin if it were Shabbos. This was a Monday or Thursday, as the Torah was out when tefillin were on.
