And now that Oscar is tainted. It will forever remind him of the night his life took a nosedive. I firmly believe Will is being mentally & emotionally abused on a DAILY by his TOXIC wife. Will needs help. He’s got to see what everyone else sees so he can break away, and I know he doesn’t want to, but I really believe his staying with her will RUIN him. As for Jada, I hope she is shunned and becomes irrelevant. She’s certainly nothing without Will Smith!
@Joseph Gibson That’s a flat STUPID assessment. First of all, Tyler Perry has his own problems in Hollywood & second of all, when you look at the population, who makes up more of the paying public? (Hint: its NOT the Blacks with only 13%) So take your racist attitude & CRAM IT.
Judge Judy says: "He picked her." Your comment is another female mothering Will Smith. Smith doesn't need mothering. Jada mothers him enough. He can stand on his own two feet. His inner turmoil or problems doesn't give him the right to break the law and it doesn't even make what he did any better because almost ALL criminals commit crimes for the same reason: inner turmoil, problems.
He sees and he knows, and that why he ultimately embarrassed himself on live national television. What he did to Chris is what he really wanted to do to Jada (and August).

His wife did give him a look that provoked him to slap him. It's great to watch you two men talk about anything, both of you are terrific together or apart. Thanks guys.
Through this whole incident and the backlash I think Jada has become more reviled than Will has. And, it is ironic because his supposed motive was to defend Jada in the first place.
Michael it really looked like you read the comments from your previous video and did your research before revisiting this story. So we are all agreed Will Smith was wrong. He was on his way to great things that would've made the Oscar he received a mere footnote of his accomplishments. To think he lost all to his ego by pandering to a woman who has repeatedly shown she cares far less to him as he does to her 🤦🏾♂️

Well, I'm just an observer. I like both Will Smith and Chris Rock. There was no malice behind Rock's jab and Smith's delayed reaction means that there was something else under the surface. Smith's response just didn't fit the circumstances. When all is said and done, it neither takes money out of my pocket nor puts food on my table and it's not my business. I'm just wondering how much Smith's wife is going to take from him before he's able to racognize the toxic, narcissistic environment his is in and finds a solution. It is really sad but not uncommon. She's worried about losing a little hair; Smith should worry about losing his soul.
Excellent podcast. Two men that are the ultimate gentleman. I would love for you to consider doing a podcast together like The Sopranos podcast with Steve Schrippia and Michael Imperioli. You make a great duo and can talk about life on the streets and everything in between. Love you both. God bless you both and have a Happy Easter 💖
Ahhh, love you two guys. Respect is one of the biggest things. I know and known folks who have been on the wrong side who give and deserve respect, yet I can also say I known and know people who never got in trouble and absolutely have no respect for others. For me, I rather hang out with the first group. Thank you for a wonderful outlook on this subject.
"I dont know what the problem is" Lemme break it down for everyone, years ago, Will Smith was on a video surrounded by fellow actors chit chatting, and Will mentions how a long time ago, when he was a teenager i think, he said he vowed to never be cheated on ever again, and that he's going to be so famous no one would ever think of cheating him ever. Oh how Samuel L Jackson and all them just laughed it off, like it was a joke. Fast forward to the present day, things are not so sunshine and daisy's for the guy. His own wife, sits Will down on her "show" and tells will straight to his face how shes cheating on him, its hard to watch. Jada's banging their sons friend or whatever, and now Will has to just take it now. Tell me, Chaz or Michael, or anyone reading this, how would you feel in that same situation? your loving wife for years, the mother of your grown adult kids, belittling you in front of millions to watch, telling you to your face "im fking our sons friends" I would go berserk, i know you will all go berserk, unless you're comfortable being a cuck, me? not so much not even in the slightest, but whatever floats your boat to those that are into that sort of life. So now poor Will just has to take it, he's forced to accept it else he's gunna look like the like the unaccepting fool leaving the relationship for some fkin reason. My friends like "its an open relationship hes happy with it", and im like "Yeaaa bulllllshiiit, if you know how Will said on video how he vowed to never be cheated on again, i know damn well that guy is not mentally happy right now". So the guy finally snapped, something broke. Im honestly worried for his mental state.
All of this has zero to do with Smith committing a crime of assault, it just makes him sound more like a criminal because the scenario you describe is the same reason a lot of criminals get put in jail: they have emotional problems, relationship problems and anger management issues. When a person commits assault and goes to jail they share their sad story with all the rest of the guys in jail, lack of control, disrespect for the law. YAWN. Smith doesn't need any more mothering. His wife Jada mothers him enough. Mothering like that can ruin a man.
Another problem that I have with Will is that he had no remorse. Even the producer said he thought Will would apologize to Chris during his acceptance speech. He only apologized, which was not a genuine apology to Chris because it was done on Instagram, because of the backlash. The celebrity audience didn’t give him any, but the public gave him plenty of backlash.
It's not about defending or crucify anyone because no one knows your sins so it cant be a fair trial, it's about learning... Its about learning that humilliating someon doesnt make you a comedian and its not humor either because at some point of life this offenses were dealt with even greater violence, it's up to oneself to restrain the beast or chained to the fringes of society, but it's still an offense not humor. And on the other side learn to never assault someone doesnt matter if they offended you first because there are a lot of dummies like that comedian that feel the need to mock someone to be succesful their your comedian job, and the only way out of it is not to fake laugh and instead express the lack of class and disrespect this person comunicates.
This is the best interview on this subject that I've seen to date! I admired Will Smith previously; but not anymore. Reminds me of a line from a movie where a father advices his son not to envy people too much because he would always come away disappointed.
I believe his reaction was very disingenuous and silly. He was initially laughing and then overreacted because of his wife. I was a fan of his but recently lost a lot of respect for him, and this really sealed the deal.
@@grandmaida7819 I hear you, and I know how hard actors and actresses work in their crafts. Hey Michael could you do a video about the Italian mafia in Italy such as ndrangheta calabrese or Camorra napoletana and if you ever meet them during the life, would be very interesting. Those are not well known in America but they are the most powerfull criminal organizations in the world.
I live in ITALY and the Mafia in Italy is NOTHING like the Italian-American Cosa Nostra. There is no glamour especially. In Italy they are not respected men. The past few years mafiosi are more involved in human trafficking (africans and migrants) into Italia. That's not something Americans would find very glamorous. We call them "bandits" in English. La Cosa Nostra in the US got their notoriety, nice cars, clothes, hang out at nightclubs and all the movies add to the intrigue. But this is not so in Italia. The big difference is La Cosa Nostra are Americans with Italian ancestry; la Cosa Nostra are ITALIAN. There is also a big difference between Italian-Americans and Italians who live in Italy. I'm both so I understand both cultures, but ask any Italian in Italy and they will tell you Italian-Americans are NOT Italian and they don't consider us Italian-Americans "Italians" at all.
@@moniquemonicat You live in italy and I am Italian from calabria so I know very well what I'm talking about, In Italy there are exactly the same glamour thing, not to mention about nice cars, night club ecc... even thought they don't want too much visibility. They are not respected man anymore and in America is the same, the respected man thing and glamour thing was more at the beginning of the 20th, specially when there were not drugs involved. If you call italians mafiosi bandits, you had to call the italian american mafiosi the same way, all of them are bandits for obvious reasons, they are in the same business, drugs, prostitution, weapons ecc... the italy mafiosi are into human trafficking because they are literally in the mediterranean, if the american cosa nostra had this kind of business at their doorstep they would have put their hands into it for sure. The difference is that italians mafiosi are more ruthless, if they are in a war they will kill, police officers, their enemies parents, innocents they don't care, as it was in America in the early days and they are infiltrated in every branch of the society, that is why they are the most powerfull in the world, the italian american cosa nostra is more civilized or we can say americanized, that's why wnen there was a war they often called italians from Italy. I can assure you that lots of people from italy considered italian americans italians like us, sure influenced by american culture but none the less italians.
Great video Michael....Chazz is so genuine and the two of you work well together. If more folks would show more self control and be nice to one another, our world would be so much better off!!

Another good sitdown. Great content and advice shared. I'm honestly so over the whole ordeal. And disappointed by people's reactions. Was he wrong? Yes, dead wrong. Is his frustration relatable? Yes it is. Are people sitting on a high horse looking down on him because of his humanity? Yes, they are. That's the part I'm most disappointed about. He's human. He erred in a very public, embarrassing way, which will likely follow him til the day he dies. Marlon Brando, though a brilliant actor, was known to be "difficult" on set. That stayed with him up to present day and he's been dead for almost 18 years. Will made a mistake. He's trying to atone for it. But he's still human. Some comments I've seen from interviews and articles are relentlessly ruthless. It's almost like they're saying "How could you make a human error, Will?" I think we just need to accept that, although he's a celebrity, he's human just like us and prone to err. God forbid that we should make mistakes in our day to day life....how would we feel if persons just never let us forget about it or they boycott our lives....the same way that some persons are boycotting Will's movies? We just need to move on. There are so many other things happening in the world that are more egregious than a celebrity losing his cool in a very public way. And let's all remember that we are all human.
@@vortex162 lol what high horse cause he's a rich black man? sure his kids are weird and open marriages are stupid. but let's be honest, he hasn't done anything wrong for people to treat him like he stole their money
@@badfoody Thanks. I' guess what I'm saying is that I'm not even addressing race, culture, creed or anything specific. I'm talking about being human, which is probably the one commonality amongst us. He screwed up AND he's human. AND we just need to move on. He's been scolded and chastised and banned and boycotted and the list goes on. Why can't we just move on. Why is this the hottest topic for the media. There are wars, famine, genocide, murders, suicides. My goodness.

I love this episode. The best advice given ever... You must use self control. You're no good if you cannot practice self control. Prov. 25:28- Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. (NIV)
We throw “cancelled” around way too much. Will Smith is not cancelled. It’s not like Hollywood is saying he can never be in big movies ever again. Sure, some people will choose not to work with him as it is their right. But he’s definitely gonna get work again, he’s talented, and in the grand scheme of things a slap and a rant at the Oscar’s is not a career ender. Keep up the good work guys!
You're wrong! What he did was aggression and assault. He committed a crime in front of millions around the world. People that have morals, values and dignity will not want to watch Will Smith on any movie again.
You have to watch out for all those so called nice guys that never seem to get angry and always seem happy. Oftentimes there’s a darkness there that is being pushed back until they just lash out not even at the person that they’re really angry at either.
Will Smith disgraced himself and the Academy did the same by not giving him a police escort out of there. As for those that gave Will a standing ovation...it was as if they slapped Chris a second time. Thank you Michael and Chaz...for leading by example ❤️
Based on what will said twice, “keep my wife’s name out your…mouth”, I think it had nothing to do with the hair joke. I think it’s what Chris said before the joke that Jada interpreted as the joke “I love ya Jada”. I think she sneered because she thought that was a jab at her open relationship. Will should have been ejected by the academy and arrested, if not for the importance of correcting that mental behaviour to his son who said “this is how we do it.” The academy should have mailed his earned award to him, but repercussions are not taking an award away from someone who cares so little that he resigned before hand. And he resigned but didn’t apologize to Chris until later as damage control? He doesn’t care about the award or the academy or he would never have done what he did in the first place. What repercussions that need to happen are, no producers should hire him. Hit his wallet. Because if they don’t, the people will and his movies will flop and not only will will suffer, so will the producers.
Like it or not Will lost it and you can't expect these actors to be so sweet all the time.I know that Will Smith was wrong on his part but Chris chose the wrong moment to crack bad jokes and you must pay the piper period.
@@allenfreeland6494 it’s plain stupidity and career suicide to do that at the academy and in front of the world on video. Doesn’t matter how you look at it.
Not only that it was an extremely mild joke that could also be interpreted as a compliment. Will Smith destroyed his reputation & career not to mention legacy in 15 seconds all for a terrible self centred entitled wife.
Self control in the face of naked aggression provides an incredible feeling of calm and power, especially when there is an audience. Remember, fights between strangers mostly happen because no-one wants to lose face. Holding back but standing your ground is always superior, and the aggressor will feel shamed by it, once his blood cools down. 😎
Michael I watched the clip of Will smacked Chris after it happened. My thing is if an average and non-famous person did it to Chris, they would have been tackled and removed from the stage. Then maybe charged with trespass and assault. Legal aside, Will acted unprofessional when he gotten onstage and cussing to Chris. I know that he is defending Jada. Will like Chris does comedy and jokes knows that celebs are primed for roasting from these events for as an example, Ricky Gervais doing celebs during previous Golden Globes. If I was Will in that situation, I would have waited after the show, then talked to Chris about my concerns about him on Jada. Then he would not have resigned from Academy & not suspended for 10 years. I have worked in customer service for many years. I have to control my emotions during business. I hope that he learned from this experience. Because Will is an excellent actor.

That’s a flat STUPID assessment.

These guys are absolute professionals, I can't imagine anyone making a bad remark against either of them, that surprised me to hear that.
I didn't watch it live and I didn't know about it until it was on the news. I really like Will Smith but I thought it was the wrong thing to say. His wife did give him a look that provoked him to slap him. It's great to watch you two men talk about anything, both of you are terrific together or apart. Thanks guys.
Chris saved the evening for many people by not responding and carrying on like a gentleman.
You can't be respected by every one no one is perfect not even Will Smith.
Through this whole incident and the backlash I think Jada has become more reviled than Will has. And, it is ironic because his supposed motive was to defend Jada in the first place.
Very Happy to see both of you sit down, weigh in and give great advice, your wisdom is well received and appreciated.. love the channel..!
Michael it really looked like you read the comments from your previous video and did your research before revisiting this story. So we are all agreed Will Smith was wrong. He was on his way to great things that would've made the Oscar he received a mere footnote of his accomplishments. To think he lost all to his ego by pandering to a woman who has repeatedly shown she cares far less to him as he does to her 🤦🏾♂️
Everytime you two make a video, I stop what I am doing and am glued! Love you two!

Will Smith made a big mistake and my hope is he can have a genuine apology towards Chris. I see it from a different prospective. Chris was a father, brother, and son. His kids saw the assault happen. I do not believe in cancel culture and I hope Will can bounce back even stronger.

These people signed their souls away long ago sadly

I really do not think Will Smith's reaction to the GI Jane joke had anything to do with the GI Jane joke or Chris Rock

"I dont know what the problem is"
Lemme break it down for everyone, years ago, Will Smith was on a video surrounded by fellow actors chit chatting, and Will mentions how a long time ago, when he was a teenager i think, he said he vowed to never be cheated on ever again, and that he's going to be so famous no one would ever think of cheating him ever.
Im honestly worried for his mental state.
emm...divorced for greater good?
All of this has zero to do with Smith committing a crime of assault, it just makes him sound more like a criminal because the scenario you describe is the same reason a lot of criminals get put in jail: they have emotional problems, relationship problems and anger management issues. When a person commits assault and goes to jail they share their sad story with all the rest of the guys in jail, lack of control, disrespect for the law. YAWN.
Smith doesn't need any more mothering. His wife Jada mothers him enough. Mothering like that can ruin a man.
@@moniquemonicat No arguments here
He should leave her in that case 💯
Another problem that I have with Will is that he had no remorse. Even the producer said he thought Will would apologize to Chris during his acceptance speech. He only apologized, which was not a genuine apology to Chris because it was done on Instagram, because of the backlash. The celebrity audience didn’t give him any, but the public gave him plenty of backlash.
Another sit down with Chazz? Awesome. Can't wait to watch.
Love what you’re doing Michael, a saluti! Keep up the good work!
For me the most depressing thing about this is that Will Smith has people defending him.
@@pegasodeoro3158 Only the intelligent will understand Will.. He wasn't right but people go crazy in that position..

Great sit-down as always Michael
I believe his reaction was very disingenuous and silly. He was initially laughing and then overreacted because of his wife. I was a fan of his but recently lost a lot of respect for him, and this really sealed the deal.

Nice video Mike when are you Sammy gonna make another video together ?

Hey Michael could you do a video about the Italian mafia in Italy such as ndrangheta calabrese or Camorra napoletana and if you ever meet them during the life, would be very interesting. Those are not well known in America but they are the most powerfull criminal organizations in the world.
YES ✊

The "high horse" was Smith sitting on others are just reacting in their "humanity"!
i agree
i really hated how some people reacted as if they haven't done worse, or they wouldn't have acted when the situation needed them to act.

@@vortex162 Thanks. And they have a right too. They're human but when is enough enough?

We throw “cancelled” around way too much. Will Smith is not cancelled. It’s not like Hollywood is saying he can never be in big movies ever again. Sure, some people will choose not to work with him as it is their right. But he’s definitely gonna get work again, he’s talented, and in the grand scheme of things a slap and a rant at the Oscar’s is not a career ender.
Keep up the good work guys!
You're wrong!
What he did was aggression and assault. He committed a crime in front of millions around the world.
People that have morals, values and dignity will not want to watch Will Smith on any movie again.
Chazz worked with Chris Rock in the movie "Down to Earth" very good movie.
You have to watch out for all those so called nice guys that never seem to get angry and always seem happy. Oftentimes there’s a darkness there that is being pushed back until they just lash out not even at the person that they’re really angry at either.
100% That's exactly what it is.
Thank you for your entertainment. From Houston with love
Will Smith disgraced himself and the Academy did the same by not giving him a police escort out of there. As for those that gave Will a standing ovation...it was as if they slapped Chris a second time.
Thank you Michael and Chaz...for leading by example ❤️
Will is not the only guilty one Chris was wrong on his remarks leave Will alone
Chazz loved your stuff , Definitely Loved your commentary and all your information
True but this thing happens you least expect and Hollywood is a jungle. It can happen again as it did in the past with actors.
Excellent advice Gentlemen, 'have some self control.' Thank You for sharing your thoughts on this 'situation.'
Will Smith would have not not done that if someone like Mike Tyson was up there. 😆
@ Billy Billy Exactly. If the presenter has been Mike Tyson or the Rock, the incident would not have occurred.

I watched the clip of Will smacked Chris after it happened.
