    Dear fellow BA graduates,
I initially pursued a BA with dreams of a government job. However, upon completing my degree at Ramjas, I realized it wasn't my path. I ventured into the private sector, starting as a technical sales rep in 2014, working night shifts. Through job switches and skill-building, I became eligible for Dell Technologies in 2016. I excelled, earning promotions and a breakthrough opportunity at Adobe as a program manager. Today, I earn a six-figure monthly salary, surpassing the cost of my entire education from 1st grade to graduation.
The key lesson: No matter your field, expect initial struggles. Focus on honing additional skills for continuous growth.

    Bitter truth is
One of the main reasons of
    Unemployment in India is
    "Preparing for Govt jobs"
    It actually makes students unskilled

    • @revealthinking12345
      @revealthinking12345 Рік тому +143

If you are taking preparation for govt jobs, then you are gaining knowledge about Hist, Geo, Science, Maths, GI, GK, CA, Language, Polity, Economics, Computer, and so on...
Then how did you say it makes students unskilled???? Yeah the competition is high but you can't say they are unskilled...

    • @unknownwanderer04
      @unknownwanderer04 Рік тому

@@revealthinking12345 these "when and how babar died?"
Doesn't help you in real life or in jobs
Maybe writing skills helps but that's a completely different thing
Another thing is that govt job preparation doesn't make you a knowledgeable person
For example you know certain things about the Indian economy
But if someone wants some intense writing on some economic theory
They prefer someone having an economics degree
Most of the people who are preparing for government jobs just want to pass their exam
They don't want to gain knowledge
For this they just mugged up things
Which is not at all bad if you want to carck the exam and many people cracked it like this as well
Some upsc aspirants may have some skills
      Which you are talking about
Another thing the term general awareness means
That you are aware of certain things that are happening or happened in the past around you
And there are some differences between "awareness" and "deep knowledge"
But apart from that aspirants have some serious psychological problems
      They prepare for govt jobs
      Failed again,do preparation
Failed again ,do preparation and this cycle continues over and over again
And it becomes a vicious cycle
      I have seen many people
They are unskilled but their salary expectation is sky high
They are in this govt job cycle for 4-5 years
But when they got jobs in the private sectors
They are not happy with starting salaries like 10-15k
Look preparing for govt jobs is not bad
But you have limit your time
That should be maximum 2 years
That after that I will do something else in my life

I have been a bright student throughout and opted for humanities. After graduation, I interned in NGOs, worked part time as a tele-marketter. Then I got a social work degree from TISS and got placement immediately. The issue is in BA you must only go to the best colleges. As to internships, please stop saying a history graduate should do internship in sales. That's a problem of the economy. What is really needed is to create avenues for internship for history graduates to assist historians, museologists, archaeologists, curators, writers; political science students to assist local political parties, campaign agencies etc; geography students to assist geographers, geologists, anthropologists; psychology students to assist psychologist. The problem is that of the economy, not just that of the students.

@@sakshisonawane6626 That’s how education is everywhere outside India. A lot of focus on what students actually learn rather than “ratta maaro”. Plagiarism tests on assignments. Strict word limit on essays. Final year project showcase. Students work really hard for their GPAs.
We don’t have good teachers in India, and issue with not having good teachers stems from the very root cause that Indian education system has not evolved with time, schools and colleges are understaffed, teachers are underpaid. Their time is utilised on things like Mid Day Meal Distribution & Election Duty. My mom is a school principal. I have seen her struggle.
Coming back to the curriculum. I will cite my own example. I was in CBSE board. I don’t think NCERT did a great job at clarifying concepts. It touches things only on the surface level without going in depth. And like most people, I too come from a really small town. I did not have the access to internet during my school days & I have worked my butt off to move to bigger cities in India to pursue my graduation & masters. Getting a job did not come easy too. I never went home during my studies. I was always interning or freelancing during holidays. Were the professors exceptional in undergrad and postgrad? Nope. We were expected to learn things on our own. They would give us names of books to pick up & read from the library & we had to get back to them on what we understood & learnt. Trust me that has helped me a lot in my journey.
I do agree with you on the part that teachers should make learning enjoyable & understandable to each student as per their learning capability. And at the end of the day there are no bad students, only bad teachers.
But students should also have a “curious keeda” in them. If teachers are incapable to teach in classroom, can platforms like unacademy or physics wallah be of any help? What about college seniors? Can they help out in understanding a particular subject? I feel there are a lot of solutions to one problem. It’s only about figuring out which route to take.

Market is manipulating the students as per their requirements. As I was a Science student in 12th after 12th I have taken the addmission in BSc in Pune's top college which is Fergusson. But while studying in college I get to know that the subject which I was studying was of no use for my life. I have dropped my self. Now I am pursuing my graduation in BA spiritual psychology. Now I am able to understand my self properly after studying this subjects. This course has opened my mind and help me to understand myself ❤.

    Why people choose BA :
    1. Poverty : especially in villages after school students do labour and other works to earn and support family.
    2. Fear of maths and physics ( fear of failure and hard work )
    3. BA is easy and requires less college and class attendance.
    4. Provides proper time and environment to prepare for government eaxm.
    5. Some students do like History, Geography and Humanities.
This is my personal opinion 🙂

For those afraid of maths, you should start focusing on statistics as it is pivotal for research work. Dont fear if you got poor marks in maths in class X, i barely passed with 38% in CBSE class X maths myself. All you need is conceptual knowledge and the rest is done by statistical softwares like SPSS (trust me on this). There is lots of scope if you are patient enough to devote a few more years beyond graduation. If anyone has any question, reply to me in the comments.

I graduated with BA in 2013. My earlier goal was to get into either Law or Civil Services (I come from a family of Lawyers). Speaking of what I did accomplished, I cleared the Prelims twice but due to different reasons couldn’t cleared the mains both the times. Also, cleared IBPS once but lost interest and didn’t wanted to become a Lawyer since everyone in my family is already one and even they wanted me to be something other than an Advocate even if it’s closer to that.
So I did my MBA from Amity University from the money I saved working for 2 years and currently, I am working as Team Lead - HR with one of the largest Real Estate brands in Dubai on a salary I never expected I could make.
Having a BA is one of the best decisions I ever took since it made me stronger in multiple disciplines instead of limiting me to just one specialisation.

I have seen students with top ranks taking arts while students with just fine grades take science and they aren't Even Good at It, neither interested. Majority of maths students choose maths due to family pressure and for better career opportunity, not because They are Interested or good at maths
Honestly, When I was in 11th, 12th students used to be most relaxed During maths exams while chem was real fear. Its not because they were good in maths, rather because maths paper used to be easiest as compared to other subjects. And its level was quite low, to the extend that I was quite sure that even my friends who took arts can do it after little bit of explanation.
Now it can be different for different ppl but maths isn't as hard as ppl present it. Yes, u might not be excellent at it but an average student with little bit of interest in maths or Even just interest in money (thinking that only maths can give good earning) can easily do graduation with maths and it won't be any harder than graduation in arts

Few teachers were like wtf. Plus, CIVIL SERVANTS are supposed to know about our society and history and beliefs not how an engine works. much of the UPSC paper is based on humanities subjects. In fact, humanitarian subjects opposed excessive control of religion over ideas and due to this the scientists were able to circulate their ideas. Humanities wale buddies, you guys can rock. One of the most important videos made by Mohak. Indian students need better career counselling, psychometric tests to understand their strengths and weaknesses, access to better quality education and upskilling to make India a developed country. Career fairs can be organised by school and college in collaboration with career guidance companies top universities worldwide, top personal branding strategists, top corporate excecutives, government departments and other such experts to provide further career guidance to students for their bright future. In a nutshell, efficient human capital development.
Edit: It would also be great of more universities offer integrated and hons degrees as well.

I'm currently doing a CS degree, I joined CS cause i loved Coding since my highschool.
I've noticed most of my peers aren't even interested in CS rather they are interested in those quirky high paying corporate jobs. Most of them even enrolled thinking that CS will make them rich overnight.
Whereas my friends who do BA are creative fellows who actually has a talent and isn't just interested in Money or placements.

No need to spend 5-10 lakhs in wedding which may have no return. Divorce rate is rising, women file fake rape/domestic violence cases against men/husband. Individuality is important. Regarding kids, India is overpopulated; cost of education, property, and healthcare is rising alarmingly. Don’t want to bring a child in a country which have corrupted govt. poor infrastructure, lack of resources to lead a average life. Better travel, invest money in FD, MF, stocks and create wealth and adopt kids.

Everyday when I take the last local, I feel like jumping out of the moving train. Surely, I lack the guts to even die. Damn!!

They say happiness will find you,
But I think sadness will find you too,
It sneaks up on you in darkness,
Just when you think you’ve made it through...

My biggest learning in the job market as a BA English honours, MA English graduate - diversify your skill set. I started as an editor in the publishing industry, worked in a startup where I not only edited books, I learned how to typeset them, give ideas for book cover designs, book titles, generate leads, manage client communications, marketing, etc. In a short span, I became invaluable for my company and eligible for jobs in multiple roles. Then in my next job in the study abroad industry, I not only did well in catering to A grade students, but equally excelled in handling low grade students and helping them gain best admits. What kept me going apart from my capabilities as an editor was my academic background. Humanities provide you critical thinking abilities to survive in jobs that demand creativity. It provides you the ability to ask right questions and influence people with you informed and unique insights. Majorly my students are engineers who have the technical skills to transform the world but lack critical thinking to bring about such changes that can have a profound impact in the world.

Actually problem is that we don't have solid art industry here.
    1. Visual Design industry:
Just look around the banners once you go out for a while, either they are clichéd or they look so cheap and wrong. Same thing in packaging and digital advertising. Things are so bad that if you really see a good ad, then you know it's directed by Tanmay Bhatt.
    2. Exterior and interior: We have lost our glory. And somehow we are trying to copy the west and ending up nowhere. Just look at the Indian cricket stadiums and the colors we choose. Things are truly wrong. You can’t get away such things without the help of expert designers.
    3. Art and entertainment: We do have massive art and entertainment industry, but I doubt B.A. courses teach those stuff. There are some courses but not really popular.
    4. Animation: Lol. We all know what kind of Animation industry we have here. And in the name of Animation teaching, Arena, MAAC are scamming millions of people.
    5. UX: Here companies hire ui and graphic designers for ux stuff. 🙃 Probably only NIFS and some few are good institutions. Otherwise you gotta depend on internet materials, which is even better.

As a B. Tech undegrad, I just want to tell that ones doing BA are not failures in life. You need to be on the right track of your dreams after college life. The pain and suffering of every college student that has to go through right from to admission to placement can't be compared by degree. Some get frustrated and some get motivated but end up getting frustrated but guys don't give up. Either be govt jobs or a business or even engineering you can do it all after BA. Unemployed ones too get work to do although menial but doesn't mean they are bad or their life is bad.
Quality of education must be the same across all degrees to get decent placement then things like internships and startups will be less required and you'll know enough to pursue your aim in life either by self or the place where you're learning.

Bas wahin sab ghuse pade hai. social science stream is as important as others. But seriously, freshers ke liye iss stream m aur bhi options hone chahiye. I've worked in a few internships, I was paid well, but again job m convert hone ke liye work experience consider karte hai.

17:10 Agree! I left/dropped out from Gov engg in 3rd yr (CS Branch- 7cgpa) & went for BA Honours instead, the discipline of BA which engross me completely, the stream in which I get completely immerse & mesmerise about while studying about it!
19:00 Agree! Just like how people are thinking about Entrepreneurship, many people also have degree in 1 field but moving to completely different field, slowly many people are thinking & doing things which they like about or have some passion about! Same way many are thinking about BA degrees too! You just need to look from different pov towards this degrees & they are on par with engg & other degrees!
20:00 Yes this is great initiative! & hope it'll prosper in near future! I mean just think about your school life, there were many of your classmates who used to love different subjects like Geography, History or some might had interest in literature subjects or maybe Biology(zoology, botany i mean) or even Civics maybe! But after 10th very very few follow this subject & build career in it, bcoz of Stupid Follow the Herd Mentality & no Guidance about those fields! & most imp after 12th (or while choosing engg field) *SCOPE KISME HAI?* Seriously?
There is scope everywhere, you just need to curious, passionate about the field you are working in, If you love what you are doing you'll find or create your own way than following or walking on way already created by someone else!
:-When I was leaving good engg clg & life, everyone thought I'm stupid leaving such good 3yr academic life, parents were upset, relatives/neighbours mocking(or maybe getting happy from inside), but I believed in myself & stepped forward! I went for BA Honours Geography🌏 which I'm fascinated about! (Geology to be precise, in which i'll do masters & might do PhD). In just 1yr everything became normal (except couple of times with neighbours) & I'm happy about my decision & seeing me happy parents are happy!
:-See, I might had good career, future & good life in tier 1 with all modern amenities if i had continued my engg. (Yes I liked CS engg, but after Geo🌏😉) but at the end of the day, it's all about satisfaction of work for me! If the field I'm working in fascinate me, even after daily hectic work, if I'm loving my job profile & gives peace of mind at the end of day & excites me for going to work on next day, then I'm happy to work in that field even with _Less Pay_ (Geo is that field for me than CS!)
Sounds little filmy, but it's truth for me! 😅
Edit:- And yes now I have clear goal in front of me, what i'm doing right now, what I want to do after that, In which field I want to specialize in, which company or country I want to work in, I have my career path planned & ready to execute! I know, things might not go as planned, but atleast I have my own unpaved road in front of me which I might not had if i had stayed in previous field!

My first job paid me 15K and later it increased to 25K within 6 months.
10 months after my first job I got a job paying me 40K base, and including incentives and such , on average I'd take home 70- 80K to sometimes 1L.
I moved to Canada 8 months ago,
    I have 2 cars (a new RAV4 Hybrid & a used ford escape)
I work only 20 hrs a week, I'm an international student.
Yet I'm saving more than what I was earning back home with my highest paying job.

BA students ke courses me badi badi batte hoti hai jaise, politics ki, geography, history me bade kingdoms ki, aur economics ki, work affair ki, ya phir great literature ke bare me, ye sab padane ke baad student ka mindset bahut picky ban jata hai, aur unko bahar ki job choti lagane lagati hai. Isliye wo government exam ki taiyari me hi lage rahate hai, kyuki wo job unhone jo padha hua ya usse related sochane ka mauka deti hai. aur wahi Engineers unhone kuch nahi padha hota hai, unhe BTech ke 4 saal me life ki reality aur responsibility pata chalati hai, isliye wo kuch na kuch karana start kr dete hai.

A big problem is also that students are largely clueless on what they can pursue, we know just handful of job positions and handful of degrees. Random conversations with some people makes us feel that there's so much to do apart from regular BA/Btech. Firstly we lack the education to take education... And the system and society is in shambles already.

    • @mayurdahiwale5907

@@improvement-qj9oe See for any course there will be a prescribed syllabus. And for something like BA, you'll study english, PolScience, History, and all which haven't changed at all. (You can't have another history, 'jo hua wo hua hi hai') In english you'll have the classical books written by the pioneers of english language like Shakespear. If you want to pursue something, be very particular of what you want to study and why, and how can you proceed in life with that knowledge. (Do you want to be a history expert writing columns based on deep research, or you want to be an author with good command over the language structure. There are numerous possibilities, and BA/Humanities is very flexible. You could study public policy if you are into that, and get employed by think tanks. If you like design then there are various courses on design like aesthetic, architectural, animation, etc; and even product design (the B.Des degrees). You can even study economics, statistics as well (all companies and think tanks need economic perspectives). Management (hotel, hospital etc) is also there. Psychology can be an important field as well, even sports and fitness. All this I said could feel overwhelming, and out of context of BA and the question you asked, but the point is to know that there is a so much to do. Invest good (high) amount of time on what you want to study, so that you don't regret (If you do regret afterwards, keep hope and start afresh, don't care about external people). Also look for all these thing abroad too; India can be limited. Final suggestion is DO NOT study BA simply with the aim of clearing UPSC. Please don't. All the best.

I myself was scared when I opted for Humanities in my grad, though I really liked the subjects and topics we are taught about in BA hons. I was like, how would I compete in this world of huge competition, even for a moderately paying job. And today, even after having one, and that also through a competitive exam (and not becoz of my BA degree) as our college did not have campus recruitment facilities for the grads, still feeling out of the so-called circle.
