I did my 20 mil ruble grind so I could press W without worrying, but the real goal is to not hesitate when the opportunity arises to take down an enemy, regardless of his or my equipment. EFT is just a game, and this game is all about strategy and confidence. Thx Jonny
5:30 also people underestimate the Black Stim that brings your hydration and energy back up. Countless of times where I very barely (or even died) after a fight because I couldn't find anything and died after a hefty firefight and loosing all the loot.
I'm thousands of hours in but this is still a great video. If I take a weekend off from playing (plans or overtime or anything really) some of my solo anx/gear fear comes back because I got out of my groove. Just gotta push through it.
@@JonnyBooSock ya that's what's I'm saying tbh factory is definitely my favorite map as in fun just a lot of pvp overall and ay I just found your UA-cam channel best tarkov UA-camr these are actually really good tips the way you put it helps a lot and makes a lot of sense
dude i remember my first wipe. i was so afraid to even use the default m4a1 or the trooper armor. i just ran pacas or whatever i found on people during raids, and a stupid wooden vpo-109 with the stupidest possible .366 bullets i could find. and the funny thing is i would not die all that much cause i rat a lot. but during all of that, the m4s and the trooper just sat there. eventually i started getting defender armors and higher tier weapons, the spears, mdr's, and they just piled up. i hoarded the shitty ammo cause i wanted to use up the shitty ammo before i started using the better ammo. but i never got to using the better ammo. i just ran shitty ammo all the way to level 30 and my shitty ammo pile was still the same size. use your gear guys. as someone else said in the comments, never using it is the same as losing it. or maybe sell it?
find a money guide map. Tell yourself what's is your Roubles cap. Around 10mils When it get higher go reckless. When you have enough money run raid with no backpack, I notice i start looting if i bring in a bag. Make sure you kill a pmc and take his bag if you want to loot. If the first pmc don't have big bag, go find another pmc. Don't let your backpack trick you into looting gameplay.
Two different takes: 1) Gear Fear should NOT be overcome. It is a part of what distinguishes EFT from regular shooters. Players that have 'no gear fear' just show that highly competitive gear is too plentiful. Bring the average gear level down and it still feels the same for most players - except that finding a very good item is just that much more of a dopamine hit and you don't have to wade through tons of useless crap. 2) Players should gear up in regards to their intent. Why bring the limited lvl6 plates, if I just want to do a loot run and look for a COFDM? Why bring a big bag, if I plan to hunt PMCs? I agree, that running good gear when you have it is good advice. That's however pointing to a flaw in the current game state in that the game does a poor job of signaling when you should bring your best. If Killa has equal odds to be at the mall each time you go, then you have no clue when to slot in those lvl 6 plates and you might as well do it as soon as you have one. If you had a chance of knowing when there is a 50/50 shot of Killa being there and a 1% chance at other times, you'd know when class 4 plates are sufficient and when to expect a mosh pit.
A though/strategy i'd like to add to the video: Do NOT "fight through"/"overcome" gear fear, forcing yourself to suffer untill you no longer do is a good way to not have fun. Instead, when playing, AGRESSIVELY OPTIMISE your loadouts and overall item management AROUND your gear fear. Because, by doing so, you will inevidably come up with solutions that are equivalen or even higher in (not nesessarily monerary) cost than ones you are afraid of. And you will eventually realise that, thus moving your gear fear boundaries. Also, do directly research your gear fear to better understand it's boundaries and reasons for their existance. Then rationally analyze those boundaries to see if they are actually sencible for the reasons they exist. Basically, search for cracks in the wall instead of trying to blindly power through it. You are a creature capable of rational reasoning, utilise that capability. To that end, a note: Not using good gear you have/have acces to actively costs you roubles and progression because of opportunity cost and compounding returns: Using better gear means you'll have a better expected raid outcome -> you'll have more expected resources to use for your next raid -> your next raid will have a better expected outcome ->... So, in general you should have a reason for not using good gear (i.e. - saving it for some defined future task (i.e. a PvP focused quest) - not using it because it's not worth it/inefficient (i.e. not using calss 6 plates in a pistol run/a cheap bolty run or only toploading ammo you don't have good access to/only using plates you don't have good access to as front plates for better longterm efficiency) - wanting to stay overall rouble-positive and keep a safety bag of roubles to avoid needing to do scav/loot runs because they are boring - aesthetic choices - ... ) If you don't have a reason to not use a good item you have, but still don't want to, then sell it and buy something you are comfortable using.
Keep the plates from the slick and use them in other compatible plate carriers. Sell the slick without plates right to ragman. Slicks as a carrier now stink
Running it and losing it is no different than never running it
True. I dont have gear fear. I just dont want to take expensive gear out and get picked off by a sniper or someone I have never seen.
@@Reanimator7336 thats just gear fear
@@1vanguard4😂😂😂
False. If I lose it someone else gets it, if I never run it, it goes to tarkov heaven

Could’ve used this last wipe! It’s my 5-6th wipe and I just got over it, I feel richer too because I tend to win more fights and fraud more
it allows you to make more mistakes - so true!

I don’t usually have gear fear but I keep getting one tapped by pmcs
never had gear fear
because i never had gear
Same bro 😂 just go in with pistol
Just killed a bear in PvE with the name "jonnyboosock"
It's named after me 🙂

You dont own it its just your turn to use it
