@@thierrymazango3544 kinda yeah. I'm really conflicted on it though because I play all the roles and hitting an anti nade is one of the most satisfying things in the game and I don't want that to be lost. But at the same time it really sucks as some tanks to have to play into it.
I think Hog and Mauga both have the fun factor as shieldless, armorless tanks where they can both just walk through a hail of fire and face tank it like gigachads, no relying on wimpy armor, barriers, or spacing, and then just heal and keep walking, they become the masters of space with their P R E S E N C E and B U L K. But then Ana comes along and they deflate like goddamn All Might.

11:10 I've been saying this for ages too - they reduced the Anna sleep for tanks, they should also reduce anti-nade duration for tanks as well.
Or change the way it effects tanks. Like halves healing or something

I like the general idea of abilities working differently on tanks. Yeatle mentioned in his mauga video that his extra health passive should generate less on tanks and more on squishies to make shooting people other than the tank more rewarding. I always thought that hack should take longer to cast on tanks.

True, but JQ running it down mid still has to to be one of my favorite things to do.
I hope they don't nerf him, but bring all other tanks in line with him. Well unless they actually tone all numbers down but it seems they don't want to do that yet

I think something that really makes him feel great as a Hog player is that you can do damage while your healing is active

LOL similar? Only thing Hog and Mauga have in common is being fatasses. Their guns are different, their abilities are completely different, and Hog's auto heal is on a completely different level.

The combos are crazy window, nano, kitsune, deadeye, Dragon, blade, phara, vizor.
He's also fun to play with and against as a tank,, dps or support Loki for the last 3 days i had so much fun i went from a support main and dps enjoyer to a tank (dva and mauga) and support main just cos it felt good to play against mauga .
Don't forget bastion ult.
I think, depending on the situation, Bap can be a better choice than Kiri as a combo. Basically, Maug cages and Bap lamps. Bap could also window in the cage which would be bonkers. Plus, I think the overdrive on Bap is disgusting if you have a Bap with great aim. He basically can rush forward with Maug and not die, kinda like a mini-Maug.
Woah its almost like they were a team at one point in the lore and worked really fucking good together
If you charge and wait for it to naturally end you can cancel it when he does his little jump like how you can with rein to get a little extra distance, plus it doesnt lock you in the landing animation
6:42 they changed the doors ! There used to be a huge closed door there, now it’s broken into 2 layers one side each left for cover and direct pathway. Rather than taking those little tunnels by force
I would like him to gain a little bit of armor health so he is easier to support and then in turn a slight decrease to his cardiac overdrive self healing
The guy’s ult is a deployable like Torbs turret or Sym’s tp so it can be placed on Lifeweaver’s flower platform, Mei’s wall, the payload, but I haven’t tried it going through Sym’s tp
If a hero can't tap strafe halfway across the map. People will call the hero boring.

I've always thought that Ana's nade should reduce incoming healing instead of just blocking it. Something like 90% or even 95%, so the player maybe have a chance to survive. Because in most situations, being nade by Ana just means getting killed, and that's just one button from a support character.
I see this take a lot, and I just don’t think it would work the way anyone expects it to. If a target can only be healed 10%, what’s the point of even trying? An Ana bullet would do a grand total of 7 healing to an anti’ed ally. You’d be better off doing anything else with your time besides healing that player.
I’d just prefer to see the duration fall to 3 or even 2.5 seconds. And see the dmg fall from 60 to 40
The ‘take’ most of the time is 50% reduction, so it isn’t an instant win button. 90% is a useless change as you pointed out.
@@skarloeythomas5172 even still, I just see it being a noob trap. The experienced players will quickly realize the half anti’ed target is dead anyway and you’re better off applying resources elsewhere. The less experienced players will dump all their resources into trying to heal and not get anywhere. Kinda similar to the old Sombra dynamic where lower level players would spend all game in stealth thinking they did a good job because they didn’t die a lot

I feel like they are going to nerf his ult charge sine he gains it so fast, dealing damage and the healing from it at the same time. You can just see his ult charge rocket up
I’ve noticed that bap works pretty well with mauga kinda funny
If hog can't have his one shot then ana shouldn't have her anti heal. If they had to introduce a whole new hero (kiriko) in order to counter ana then you know that Ana's anti heal is op.
He has one shot if you hit one ulternate fire then hook it one taps squishies

Maybe it is because the character is fundamentally trash compared to the meta tank, dont you think that you should consider that sigma can oneshot too? Oh and Orisa can stun you in a wall hit a few headshots and you will dissapear, or rein charge just oneshots you, or junkerqueen knifes you and then land a headshot or dva can matrix throw missiles hit you with boosters and a melee and get oneshoted, and doomfist the "ultra bad character that needs a buff" can charge punch and stun you for 1.2 seconds and headshot you while you are stunned and do about 240 dmg plus the dmg that the punch did, hog is the most sloppy tank getting oneshots and the fact that they didnt gave him anything to compensate the nerf is just tremendously hilarious, now he is the most vulnerable tank to cc and headshots in the game and guess what the ONLY thing that he has to mitigate dmg is an ability that gives dr for 2 seconds and heals a lot, if you make that ability not heal with a nade half of the game then hog is just a disfunctional tank that is disguised as a fat reaper that cant cleanse effects by his own

"Just break it" is a very good point. Like if an entire team focuses a Rein shield? It'll collapse. I imagine it'll be the same for Mauga ULT.
No amount of damage can instantly destroy a 1500 hp sheild, thats why rams sheild never breaks, at most it would still be around for 5 secs which can still cause great damage.
Hanzo and Zen might be the best counters for him when it comes to dps and support. I melted every Mauga with both in like 2 seconds. Ana is also a good counter, but that goes for any tank if you land that sleep dart or that anti. The issue is that most tanks can't counter him. Rein's shield gets melted before he gets close, hog gets deleted from afar, he's a great counter to Orisa, Doom just goes through him when he uses his shift, and can't use any abilities once inside his ult.. So basically you're left with Dva, JQ and Zarya. JQ is good, Dva not that much, Zarya can just hope that the DPS will kill the supports so you can kill him.
It's a weird hero, and I love him.
I didnt quite understand the ana nade nerf at first, but since they showed off mauga RIGHT after? I get it now. Ana nade actually cripples him without kiriko to bail him out

Mauga looks like an older of version of Cyx with the wig of his that he always wear extended.
That Zen is the perfect example of fighting enemies as tank. They just aren't scared of you, nor should they be. Tanks are just free ult charge in this game now. Only time I can tell enemies are terrified is after I hook them as Hog. Physcologically, it still seems to have an affect. It stops people flanking, at least.

I keep hearing the hog comparison. Can someone explain it to me? For the life of me i cant find any similarities to their playstyle and kit.
Honestly I really couldn’t tell if mauga was op or not I felt like I constantly fell over if they had an ana
Idk why people say he needs buffs, i think he is fine as his, ana is a problem for every tank, so i dont even know why people keep mentioning her for real, and he is CLEARLY supposed to be countered by poke, however againist dive he can use his super powerful overdrive ability (i face tanked a bastion while in turret form as reaper because of it) on ALL of his teammates, the lifesteal is VERY GOOD.
Then his charge is a lot like piledrive, if you knock people up, it makes it very easy for dps to kill them, and if you actually stun someone, NOT ONLY did they get stunned, but they also took about 100 damage so if its a squishe they will be half AND his charge is immune to CC so you can literally ignore some ults like orisa does.
His guns do some of the most damage in the game close range so rein and JQ (if the mauga has good aim againist JQ since her hitbox is kinda small) they just get destroyed by him.
And i dont even think i need to talk about how strong his ult is, all in all, mauga is pretty decent againist dive, and destroys in brawl, but he gets countered by poke, so why do people say he needs a buff, people say its because of ana, but that isnt a mauga problem, thats an ana problem.
While i dont like counters, because of how overwatch 2 is, EVERY tank needs SOME counters, and the clear one for mauga is poke.
So in my opinion, while mauga could MOST definitely use a little bit of a buff (smaller hitbox, faster reload time, less speed penalty) he is mostly fine as is.

I played him a bit and he suffers really bad against the meta heroes rn and like most tanks Ana anti heal kills the Mauga

The only reason I'd stay with ana nade removing healing temporarily on tanks is because of orisa, otherwise I'd say just reduce it instead of prevent healing for tanks so she isn't such a hard counter
Orisa IS a diferent problem. Imo orisa should be headshotable while fortifide, but the crit multiplier gets reduce by 50%. She should be tanky agains cc but not imortal to most damage sources like she IS right now.
Her fortify IS too good because It reduces How players can Interact with her.
If his guns end up being too strong, they could nurf them and buff his jump, as that's a skill shot, and a more interesting part of his kit.

The ult is obviously completely different, but there's some similarities. He's still a cool ass character. But he's like a blend of many.

I like Mauga a lot, I think he’s in a good place at least from my experience (I’m a GM tank player). He is fun, capable of a lot of damage and finishing potential, but there is counter play to him and he is easily punished for bad plays.
Dinner with cyx all day, but I’d be so nervous because he’s built like a Greek god, so handsome, so chiseled, and so tall, I’d fold
I think he is easily counterable...
As a DPS i just go Bastion, Echo, Soj, Widowm or even Torb and just burst him down
As a Support just go Ana, Zen and make him not able to play the game
Rn I dont find him too annoying to fight as hog since his fat hotbox makes almost every shit connect though I will say cardiac overdrive somewhat needs a nerf, the fact using that can make you survive ults like rip-tire or artillery configuration is dumb to me

I agree that he's better than hog but I pick hog to literally counter him and I destroy him every time lol. its actually fun playing hog against someone for the first time in forever.

As a lifelong hog main. He feels like a more mobile hog. But with a lower skill entry and higher skill ceiling. I genuinely believe nobody has truly tapped him yet. No offense Cyx, not even you. I see potential for so much. And it makes me happy tbh.

i feel like his ranged should be nerfed slightly and his stomp should be on his E not his Charge ability

How I see it, Mauga is reall y fucking good when there is no ana, zen, and snipers. He is very bad into those tho. He is very feast or famine. Very high highs and very low lows.
He plays nothing like hog. They both just have huge hitboxes and get deleted by ana

Both Mauga AND Hog are bad.
Hog is more survivable, Mauga does more damage, but they're both very comparable in most aspects.
I'd assume he's going with different approach which isn't working that well and...the enemies wanna ego diff flats more than cyx
